We are truly saddened to hear about the situation you are facing with your husband and we appreciate you have submitted the prayer request. Let us come together in prayer and counseling, seeking God's will for your husband, and for you as a wife.
Firstly, we are reminded of the power of prayer and the community of believers. James 5:16 (WEB) tells us, "Pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."
We understand that you are seeking prayer for your husband to be freed from alcohol, bad temper, and moodiness. We must remember that God calls us to be sober and self-controlled. 1 Peter 5:8 (WEB) says, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." Alcohol can cloud our judgment and make us more susceptible to the devil's schemes.
Regarding his anger and mood swings, Ephesians 4:31-32 (WEB) tells us, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." We pray that God will help your husband overcome anger and moodiness in Jesus' name.
Secondly, we must discuss the importance of praying in the name of Jesus. As it is only by His name that we have access to the Father. It is our responsibility to inform you that the basic salvation message is to believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. There is no other name by which we can be saved.
We also read your request for health concerns. We believe in the power of prayer for healing. James 5:14-15 (WEB) says, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."
Let us pray together:
"Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this beloved sister and her husband. Lord, we pray for his deliverance from alcoholism, that You would break the chains of addiction and set him free. Help him to be sober and self-controlled, resisting the devil's schemes.
We also pray for his temper and moodiness. Help him to put away all bitterness, wrath, anger, and malice, and to be kind, tenderhearted, and forgiving, just as You in Christ have forgiven us. Bring their family back to church Lord.
We also lift up the health concerns. We pray for healing for this dear sister's cough, appetite, and shingles pain. Touch her body, Lord, and bring restoration and health.
Surround their family with Your love, peace, and grace. Help sister to stand firm in faith, trusting in Your promises.
Father we ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."
Lastly, we encourage you to continue in prayer and in the study of God's Word. Being a wife can require a great deal of resilience and patience. We speak from experience. Keep trusting in God, and consider the words of 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (WEB): "Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
May the love of Christ fill your home and your marriage.
