Beloved of All
I see my husband drowning in alcohol, a man that once loved me that doesn't even have time for me anymore, who cherished and appreciated me, who doesn't even send me a message to ask how I'm doing and the kids. Day to day spending time with alcohol, he doesn't even sleep next to me but on a couch. My heart hurts no matter how hard I pray, things are not getting better, a divorce is the only option I can't raise my two boys in an environment like this. I've tried to look at his good points, he says he will change, but it doesn't seem so. I'm emotionally and physically drained.

Seek His Face and Presence not just His hand. In his Presence is everything you need. This does not mean you can have any material thing, perfect spouse because you asked for it in Jesus Christ name. You will have your needs, some of your wants, and difficult trials. The difficult trials are supposed to refine your character and make you more like Jesus. He is more interested in getting you to everlasting life and having your heart in the right place than he is in giving you gifts. It’s eternal life he’s concerned with.

We hear the deep pain and exhaustion in your words, and our hearts ache with you. Marriage is a sacred covenant before God, meant to reflect Christ’s love for the Church—a love that is selfless, steadfast, and life-giving. Yet what you describe is a marriage ravaged by the grip of addiction, where alcohol has become an idol stealing your husband’s heart, time, and affection. The man you once knew—the one who cherished and pursued you—has been pulled under by this stronghold, and the loneliness and betrayal you feel are valid. But we must also speak truth: this is not the design God intended for marriage, nor is it the environment in which children should grow.

Scripture warns us clearly about the dangers of drunkenness: *"Do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit"* (Ephesians 5:18). Alcohol in itself is not sinful, but when it masters a person, it leads to broken promises, neglect, and destruction. Your husband’s absence—emotionally, physically, and spiritually—is a grievous breach of his God-given role as a husband and father. Proverbs 20:1 says, *"Wine is a mocker, and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise."* His repeated failures to change, despite his words, reveal a heart that is either unwilling or unable to break free without divine intervention.

You are right to refuse to raise your sons in this environment. Children learn what they live, and if they grow up watching their father choose alcohol over his family, they may normalize this brokenness. But we must also caution you: divorce is not a decision to be made lightly. Malachi 2:16 declares, *"For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" says Yahweh of Armies. "Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you don’t deal treacherously."* Yet we also know that God does not call you to endure abuse, neglect, or a marriage where one spouse is willfully unrepentant. If your husband remains in bondage and refuses help, the hard truth is that separation may be the only path to protect yourself and your children.

But before you take that step, we urge you to fight for your marriage one last time—not alone, but with the body of Christ. Has your husband been confronted in love by godly men who can hold him accountable? Has he been given the opportunity to enter a biblical recovery program or counseling with a pastor who can address the root of his addiction? Galatians 6:1-2 instructs, *"Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; looking to yourself so that you also aren’t tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."* If he refuses help, then his actions—or lack thereof—will reveal the true condition of his heart.

We also want to speak to your weariness. It is not wrong to feel drained; even Elijah, a mighty prophet, reached a point where he begged God to take his life (1 Kings 19:4). But God did not abandon him—He sent an angel to strengthen him and reminded him that he was not alone. You, too, are not alone. Lean on the Lord and His people. Is there a church community or a trusted friend who can walk with you through this? Psalm 34:18 promises, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."*

And to the question lingering in your heart—why hasn’t God answered your prayers?—we must remind you that God is not a genie who grants wishes on demand. He is a Father who works all things for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28), even when the path is painful. His silence does not mean He is absent. His delay does not mean He does not care. But we must also ask: Are you praying *with* your husband, or are you praying *for* him while he remains hardened? James 5:16 says, *"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."* If he will not join you in repentance and prayer, then the battle may be his alone to fight.

Now, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious sister and her marriage. Lord, You see the pain, the exhaustion, and the fear she carries. You know the nights she has spent weeping, the prayers she has offered, and the love she has given—only to be met with silence and brokenness. Father, we ask that You would break the chains of addiction in her husband’s life. Soften his heart, Lord. Convict him of his sin and lead him to repentance. If he will not turn, then give this sister the strength to make the hard decisions she must make to protect herself and her children.

We declare that her worth is not defined by his choices. You call her Your beloved daughter, and You promise to be a husband to the husbandless and a father to the fatherless (Isaiah 54:5, Psalm 68:5). Surround her with Your presence, Lord. Fill the empty spaces in her heart with Your peace. Provide godly community to support her, and give her wisdom to know when to fight for her marriage and when to walk away.

For her sons, we pray they would know Your love and protection. Guard their hearts from bitterness and resentment. Let them see Your faithfulness even in the midst of this storm.

And for her husband, we pray that if he will not turn to You, that You would remove every comfort that enables his sin. Let him taste the consequences of his choices until he is driven to his knees. But if there is still hope for redemption, Lord, do not let him go. Pursue him with Your relentless love.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and the only name that can break every chain. Amen.

Sister, we do not know what the future holds, but we know Who holds the future. If divorce becomes the only option, it does not mean you have failed. It may simply mean that God is making a way for you and your sons to live in peace. But until that day comes, do not stop praying. Do not stop hoping. And do not walk this road alone. The Lord is your strength, and His grace is sufficient for you.

Oh, dear sister, our hearts ache for you as you pour out your pain. We see the love you still have for your husband, the man you once knew, and the deep hurt you feel at his absence, both physically and emotionally. It's like watching a once-beautiful painting fade into a dull, unrecognizable mess, isn't it?

We want you to know that you're not alone in this. We're here with you, lifting you up in prayer. We believe in the power of prayer, and we know that God hears your cries. He sees your tears, and He knows the love you still hold for your husband. We're asking God to soften your husband's heart, to convict him of his sin, and to lead him to repentance. We're asking for a miracle, for a transformation that only God can bring about.

But we also want to remind you of your worth. You are a beloved daughter of the King, and your worth is not defined by your husband's choices. God promises to be a husband to the husbandless and a father to the fatherless. Trust in Him, lean on Him, and let Him fill the empty spaces in your heart with His peace.

For your sons, we're praying that they would know God's love and protection. We're asking God to guard their hearts from bitterness and resentment, and to let them see His faithfulness even in the midst of this storm.

And for your husband, if he will not turn to God, we're asking God to remove every comfort that enables his sin. We're praying that he would taste the consequences of his choices until he is driven to his knees. But we're also asking God not to let him go, to pursue him with His relentless love.

Sister, we don't know what the future holds, but we know Who holds the future. Trust in Him, keep praying, and don't walk this road alone. The Lord is your strength, and His grace is sufficient for you.

We're here for you, praying with you, and believing with you for a miracle.

Praying for you and your marriage in Jesus. Did you know that there are promises for our marriages that we can claim in Jesus over our spouses in the book of Hosea?

Have we ever really meditated on Matthew 6 where Jesus instructs us to take no thought for our lives? I have looked at this in terms of the rest of the Bible where I have learned to claim His Promises in Jesus and take on His thoughts for my life. Thank You Lord Jesus for Blessing me to learn to stop thinking about my life, learn to take on Your thoughts for my life and so much more for Your Glory and my good in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Jesus! Glory to You Lord Jesus!!!

Do you Believe Jesus died for our sins, is Risen from the dead, is Preparing a place for us and is about to call us to join Him?

Are you watching for Jesus in the Clouds of Glory? Jesus is about to call us to join Him!

We can do everything Jesus did and more! We can speak; sickness leave in Jesus! Be healed by Jesus stripes! I am healed by Jesus stripes! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!

You can copy and paste this to pray every day and share...

There is nothing that happens for us that is bad except our thoughts about what is happening to us. The Bible says All things work together for our good in Jesus! Look at everything as good!

Sing through out your days Thank You Jesus, Praise You Jesus, Glory to You Lord Jesus or anything that is on your heart to sing to Jesus! It doesn't matter how we sound, Angels will join in with us and Jesus will join in with us as well as fight for us, knock down walls for us, open locks for us, save people for us, evil will flee from us, He heals us and He will over flow His Holy Peace in us.

Praying for others on here and reading your Bible will help you tremendously.

I wanted to commit suicide once, I even came up with a plan. Right before I headed out the door I posted a prayer on here and hoping there might be help from God one last time I opened the Bible and only read take no thought for your life from Matthew 6. I read that before at least 100 times but never really could understand how. This time I took it to heart, all right God I will end my life by not thinking about it. I take no thought, I take no thought, I take no thought over and over and over again I take no thought was my only thought that day. All of a sudden I noticed something, Jesus showed up, all my pains were gone, no neck ache, no back pain, no leg pain from many many accidents I had over the years and no pain in my heart as my wife had left me. I started singing praises and thanks to Jesus and my life has never been the same. My wife returned. It is our obedience to God from His Holy Instructions that makes a difference to His Power of His Promises in our lives.

Be a doer of Jesus friend, it really makes a difference! Thank You Lord Jesus! All things work together for my good in Jesus!

Search the Bible for Jesus' Promises friend, do them and claim them in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus! Glory to You Lord Jesus!!!

Powerful healing promise hidden in Proverbs 3:7-8, I am not wise in my own eyes, I fear You Lord, I depart from evil, especially my own evil thoughts and my flesh is healed and my body is refreshed in Jesus.

Take no thought for your life dear friend and Jesus will take thought for you. Sing praises and thanks to Jesus and He will overflow His Holy Spirit in you and so much more. He will fight for you and give you the desires of your heart.

I will trust You Father God to take thought for me and take care of me (Mathew 6:25-34). Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
