Disciple of Prayer
My husband worked very hard for his late parents. We lived in his parents' house for a few months now, but the decision is to move back to a ### house because his siblings have been harassing me and also get people to harass me. My name has been spread with lies and gossip. The more we tried to keep the peace, the more things went out of hand. Moving back to a ### house is sad for the children because they had their own space. My heart is breaking that your own family makes your life miserable, but I know God shall supply all my needs that we will have a house. I can see the disappointment in my husband's eyes because he feels like he failed us as a family.

We are deeply grieved to hear of the pain and strife you and your family are enduring, especially within what should be a place of love and support. The betrayal of family is one of the sharpest sorrows, and we mourn with you over the harassment, lies, and division you’ve faced. Yet we also rejoice that your trust remains in the Lord, who sees all things and will not allow His children to be ultimately crushed by the schemes of the wicked. Your husband’s labor for his parents was honorable, and it is tragic that his own siblings have repaid kindness with hostility. But take heart—God is just, and He will not forget the tears you have shed or the righteousness of your husband’s efforts.

The Scripture reminds us in **Psalm 37:5-6 (WEB)**, *“Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will bring out your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun.”* Though it may feel as though darkness has prevailed for a season, the Lord will vindicate you. He will expose the lies and silence the gossip in His perfect timing. Do not be tempted to retaliate or stoop to their level, for **Romans 12:19 (WEB)** commands, *“Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’”*

We also want to encourage your husband, who may be carrying the weight of feeling like he has failed his family. Remind him that his worth is not found in the opinions of man or even in the outcome of this situation, but in Christ alone. **Proverbs 19:21 (WEB)** tells us, *“Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but Yahweh’s counsel will prevail.”* God has not abandoned your family. This trial, though painful, is being used to refine your faith and draw you closer to Him. The disappointment your husband feels is real, but it is not the end of the story. The Lord is preparing a way forward, even now.

As for the sadness your children feel in leaving a place they called home, we pray the Lord will comfort their young hearts. Use this as an opportunity to teach them that our true home is in Christ, and that even when earthly dwellings change, His presence goes with us. **Deuteronomy 31:8 (WEB)** assures us, *“Yahweh himself is who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be discouraged.”* Let this be a testament to your children that God provides, even when the path is difficult.

We must also address the spiritual warfare at play here. Where there is division, gossip, and harassment among believers (or those who claim to be), the enemy is actively at work. **Ephesians 6:12 (WEB)** reminds us, *“For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”* This is not merely a family dispute—it is a battle for your peace, your marriage, and your children’s well-being. Put on the full armor of God, and stand firm in prayer. Do not underestimate the power of fasting and prayer together as a family to break the strongholds of bitterness and strife.

Now, let us pray over you:

Heavenly Father, we lift this precious sister and her family before Your throne of grace. Lord, You see the wounds inflicted by those who should have been a blessing. You hear the lies spoken against her name, and You know the heaviness in her husband’s heart. We ask that You would rise up as their Defender, their Shield, and their Strong Tower. Expose every hidden scheme of the enemy and silence the tongues of the wicked. Let truth prevail, and let Your justice roll like a river.

Comfort this family in their transition, Lord. Provide for them a home that is filled with Your peace—a place where Your presence dwells richly. Heal the disappointment in her husband’s heart and remind him that his identity is found in You alone. Give him wisdom as he leads his family, and restore his joy in serving You.

For the children, Lord, ease their sadness and help them to trust in Your goodness. Let them see Your faithfulness in this season, and may their young hearts be rooted in the truth that You are their Provider.

We rebuke every spirit of division, bitterness, and strife that has taken root in this family. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we break the power of gossip, harassment, and every evil word spoken against them. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Father, we ask that You would turn this situation for Your glory. Soften the hearts of those who have caused pain—bring them to repentance, that they may see the error of their ways and seek reconciliation. But even if they do not, let this family walk in forgiveness, trusting You to vindicate them.

Supply all their needs according to Your riches in glory. Open doors no man can shut, and let Your favor surround them like a shield. May this trial be a testimony of Your faithfulness, and may their story bring hope to others who are suffering.

We pray all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're here with you, dear sister. Our hearts ache for the pain you're enduring, but we're reminded of the strength and comfort found in our heavenly Father. He sees you, He hears you, and He's walking beside you every step of the way.

We know it's tough, feeling like your own family has turned against you. It's like a knife to the heart, but remember, Jesus promised, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). He's there in the midst of your storm, and He's using this trial to mold and refine your faith.

Your husband's efforts to care for his parents were commendable, and it's understandable that he feels disheartened by the response from his siblings. But let's remind him, and you, that our worth is not determined by the opinions of others or the outcomes of our actions. It's in Christ alone that our true value is found (2 Corinthians 5:17).

As for the children, it's natural for them to feel sad about leaving a place they called home. But let's use this as an opportunity to teach them about our true home being in Christ (John 14:2-3). Even when earthly dwellings change, His presence goes with us.

We also want to encourage you to stand firm in prayer. There's a spiritual battle at play here, and the enemy is trying to divide and destroy. But we have the power of the Holy Spirit within us, and we can put on the full armor of God to stand against the enemy's schemes (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Let's pray together, shall we?

Dear Lord, we come before You today, lifting up our sister and her family. Lord, You see the pain they're enduring, the lies spoken against them, and the heaviness in their hearts. We ask that You would be their Defender, their Shield, and their Strong Tower. Expose the hidden schemes of the enemy and silence the tongues of the wicked. Let truth prevail, and let Your justice roll like a river.

Comfort this family in their transition, Lord. Provide for them a home filled with Your peace, a place where Your presence dwells richly. Heal the disappointment in their hearts and remind them that their identity is found in You alone. Give them wisdom as they navigate this situation and restore their joy in serving You.

For the children, Lord, ease their sadness and help them to trust in Your goodness. Let them see Your faithfulness in this season and may their young hearts be rooted in the truth that You are their Provider.
