Housing Crisis Intervention

I am praying for God to move on behalf of me and my daughters. I’m past due in my home and need God to provide a way of escape rather it’s where I am or another place other than certain homes that will destabilize me more. I’m praying for an intervention and I’m a single mother, low income, and with two small kids under 6.

We hear your cry for help, dear sister, and we stand with you in fervent prayer before the throne of grace. The weight of housing insecurity, financial strain, and the responsibility of raising little ones alone is not lost on us. You are not forgotten, and we believe God sees your struggle and will make a way where there seems to be no way. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who have a contrite spirit (Psalm 34:18). He is your Provider, your Shelter, and your Strong Tower, lean on Him now more than ever.

We rebuke the spirit of fear, lack, and despair that may be whispering lies into your heart. The enemy wants you to believe that your situation is hopeless, but we declare that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). He has not brought you this far to leave you now. We also lift up the practical steps you can take, reaching out to local churches, Christian organizations, or government programs that assist single mothers in crisis. God often provides through the hands and hearts of His people, so do not hesitate to ask for help. Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap if we don’t give up (Galatians 6:9).

We must also gently address the importance of placing your trust fully in Jesus Christ, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life to Him, confessing your sins and inviting Him to be your Lord and Savior. He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and in Him, you will find the peace, provision, and protection you desperately need.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious sister and her daughters. Lord, You see their need, and You are a Father to the fatherless and a Defender of widows (Psalm 68:5). We ask You to intervene in this housing crisis and provide a way of escape that brings stability, safety, and peace. Open doors that no man can shut, and provide resources, people, and opportunities that will meet their needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Lord, we rebuke the spirit of poverty and lack in Jesus’ name, and we declare that You are their Provider. Give her wisdom to navigate this season, strength to persevere, and faith to trust in Your timing.

Father, we also pray for her daughters. Protect their hearts and minds from fear and anxiety. Let them feel Your love and presence in tangible ways, and provide godly influences in their lives. Surround them with a community of believers who will support, encourage, and uplift them. Lord, we ask that You would bless this family with a home that is a sanctuary, a place where they can grow, heal, and thrive. And if it is Your will, Lord, provide a husband for this sister, a godly man who will love her and her daughters as Christ loves the church, leading them in Your ways.

We pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who calms the storms and makes the impossible possible. Amen.

Hold fast to God’s promises, dear sister. He is working even when you cannot see it. Keep your eyes on Him, and do not lose heart. We are standing with you, believing for breakthrough and provision. You are not alone.

We’re holding you and your little ones close in prayer right now. The weight of this feels crushing, a past-due home, the uncertainty, and the fear of anything that might destabilize you further. It’s a lot to carry alone, and we don’t want you to carry it alone.

One practical step we’d gently encourage is to let your local church or a trusted Christian community know what’s happening. You don’t have to have all the answers. Sometimes simply saying “I’m facing a housing crisis and I need help” can open a door for a benevolence fund, a connection to a safe rental, or even just someone to walk with you to a housing agency. You are not a burden; you are a sister in need, and the body of Christ is meant to respond. If you’re not already plugged into a congregation, now would be a good time to reach out, even a neighboring church’s office might know of practical local resources that can help stabilize your situation.

While we pray for a clear path, we also want to acknowledge the quiet strength you’ve shown in caring for two small daughters under such pressure. God sees every late-night worry and every sacrifice you make. We don’t know how He’ll provide, but we trust Him to do what is right for your family, whether that means making a way for you to stay or opening a door to a place that will not unsettle your children’s sense of safety.

---

Lord Jesus, we bring our sister to You. She is weary and her resources are thin. Please make a way where there seems to be none. Surround her and her daughters with Your protection and peace. Guide her to the right people and the right help, neighbors, church members, a kind caseworker, who can offer real, concrete assistance. Keep her from any place that would bring more harm, and give her the assurance that You have not left them. In Your name we ask this, amen.

There is no attribute of God more comforting to his children than the doctrine of Divine Sovereignty. Under the shadow of this great truth, take shelter for yourself and your little ones. The Lord who marks the sparrow’s fall has not forgotten your tears, nor is He deaf to the cry of the fatherless.

Divine interpositions come in the way of deliverance from floods of trouble. Have you not experienced them? In answer to prayer God worketh in his own way for the good of his people without stopping one single wheel of providence. He can provide a way of escape, whether it be in the home you now have or another dwelling He has prepared, without violating one single law of nature. Rest your cause with Him, for He has power to say and then power to carry out what He has said, “Thus says the Lord, let My people go, that they may serve Me.” He will not suffer you to be thrust into a place that will destabilize you further, for even the absurdity of our sorrow does not move the anger of God. In His great gentleness He enters into the childish troubles of His children.

Yet let me press this upon your heart. The Divine Presence is the one hope of the people of God. Seek not merely the gift, but the Giver. Cry out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Believe that He is passing by this very hour. Hear it fearing to miss a single word, lest that should be the word that might have blessed you. And while you wait, examine your heart. Have you been neglectful of your children as to training them in the nurture of the Lord? Confess it. Has there been laxity in your contact with the world? The Lord will not cast off His people, yet when His children sin, God is sure to chasten them. If you have gone aside to idols, seek early the face of God and He will be found of you in Christ Jesus.

Remember this for your comfort: there is no winepress of Divine wrath for you, O Believer, to tread. Jesus trod it alone. Therefore, say to your trembling soul, “I will go anywhere with Thee, Lord.” Thy gentleness has made me great. When Divine Grace has done its work, you shall stand and say, “He hath delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.” Divine Love can rake a dunghill and find a diamond. All your sin gone, Jesus Christ as your Savior, your soul forever secure in His hands, and a roof over your head granted to you by Divine Grace, simply through believing, surely you shall feel the glory within your soul.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
