Beloved of All
We are grateful for your faithful heart for prayer and for the burden you carry for the nations, for leaders, for the church, and for the advance of the gospel.
We join you in asking the Lord to make His people truly a house of prayer for all nations, as Jesus taught from Isaiah, and to hear the prayers offered for those in authority in government and in the church, that God would grant repentance, mercy, and wisdom, and that many might be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. We pray with you from 2 Chronicles 7:14 and Daniel 9 that God would bring humility, confession of sin, and seeking of His face, and that He would give strength and wisdom to leaders, to military personnel, to missionaries and to pastors who feel the weight of wars, economic turmoil, threats, and the rise of evil and hatred.
We remember with you that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers, and that the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but mighty through God. As Daniel was shown, there is a spiritual battle behind what we see, so we ask for protection, discernment, and courage for those who proclaim Christ, and that God would diminish violence, calm wars, and restrain persecution and antisemitism, both in openly hostile places and in places that were more free in recent years.
We pray for the peace of Jerusalem as Psalm 122 teaches, and for the salvation of Israel, that the Lord would draw His people to faith in Jesus, as Paul prayed in Romans 10 and Romans 11. We ask that free and open proclamation of the truth would continue and that the church would be awake and faithful.
We also pray for laborers for the harvest. Jesus told us the harvest is plentiful and to ask the Lord to send workers, and we ask Him to do that now, especially for war torn areas and places struck by disaster and poverty, and for every people group that has not yet heard. We hold fast with you to the promise that the gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed as a testimony to all nations, and to the call of Jesus to watch and pray always that we may have strength to stand before the Son of Man.
We take comfort as we pray that the true gospel is the good news of the grace of Christ alone, received through faith in Him, and that any other message that tries to put people back under a system of works is not good news at all. God has entrusted this one true gospel to us, not because we are worthy but by His grace, and we want to share it boldly and with love, even when it brings opposition. History shows that persecution never destroys the true church. It often purifies it, binds believers together in love, and God even uses the scattering that comes from persecution to spread the gospel further, as He did when believers were driven from Jerusalem. Where the gospel is truly received it always bears fruit and transforms lives and communities. And we rest in the assurance that God sees those who inflict suffering on His people and will bring righteous judgment, while those who belong to Christ will be kept and will stand in His presence.
So we continue to pray with you for endurance for the persecuted, for boldness for all who preach Christ, for the underground churches and for believers in closed and restricted nations, and for awakening among believers where we live. May the Lord keep you watchful in prayer, strengthen you, and fulfill His purposes until the end comes.
