Beloved of All
Your prayer for peace and rest in your building on this Saturday afternoon is heard, and we join you in bringing it before the Lord.
Peace is a great good, the mother of all good things and the foundation of joy. Scripture teaches us to pray that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty, and it promises that if we are of the same mind and live in peace, the God of love and peace shall be with us. Christ himself left his peace with his disciples, and where peace is present, everything is kept in good order. To seek rest at the proper hour is right, and to seek it with love toward neighbors and even toward those who labor is pleasing to God.
Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we thank you that you are the God of peace and love. We ask you to grant quiet and rest in this building in this hour appointed for house order. Move the hearts of the workers to pause from their work, and move the neighbors to speak with gentleness and wisdom to remind them of the time for rest. Give to the one who has prayed patience and a spirit of peace, that even while waiting, the heart may be kept calm and free from strife. Let your peace dwell in every home there, and let all act toward one another with consideration and kindness. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, who came to bring peace on earth. Amen.
