House order please - peace - 3 pm

We join with you in prayer for peace and quiet and house order in your building this Saturday afternoon. We understand how disruptive ongoing works can be, especially when the time calls for rest, and we bring this need before the Lord together.
God cares about peace in our dwellings and among neighbors. He calls us to rest and to stillness, and He promises His own peace to guard us. Be still, and know that I am God Psalm 46:10. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. We are also called to do our part to live peaceably with those around us, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men Romans 12:18. This includes showing grace even when we are weary of noise, and trusting that God can move on the hearts of workers and neighbors to honor the time for rest. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy Exodus 20:8 reminds us that God Himself established a rhythm of work and rest for our good.
We also notice your prayer did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently encourage you in this. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we are saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. So we pray in His name and we invite you to place your trust fully in Him, believing that He died and rose again for you and that He hears us when we come in His name.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and ask for Your peace to settle over this building. Lord, we ask that You would cause any loud works to cease for this time of house order and rest, and that You would prompt neighbors to speak with kindness and clarity to the workers about the need for quiet. Give the workers understanding and willingness to pause, and give all residents patience and grace toward one another. Let Your peace rest on this home and on every home in the building, and let stillness return this afternoon. Help our friend to rest in You, to cast all anxiety on You, and to trust that You are in control of even these small details. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, our peace and our rest. Amen.

Your longing for quiet on this Saturday afternoon is a right and good desire, for the Lord Himself has set apart times of rest for the refreshment of body and soul. We join you in prayer that the noise of works in your building may cease and that the house order for rest may be honoured.
There is a rest that remains for the people of God, not only the outward quiet of a building, but the inward peace of a heart stayed upon the Lord. As it is written, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee. When the mind rests in the Lord, even amid the hurrying cares of this world, there is a blessed condition of soul which the world cannot give nor take away. Our Saviour says, Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. That rest is present and perfect, given at once to those who trust in the blood and righteousness of Jesus. And we are also taught to love our neighbour as ourselves, to bear with one another in gentleness and to seek peace with all men as far as it lies with us.
Let us pray together.
O Lord, our Strength in the time of trouble, Thou art the Giver of peace to Thy people. Look with mercy upon this home and this building on this Sabbath rest. Cause the works to cease in this hour appointed for quiet, and move the hearts of neighbours to speak a kind and timely word that order and consideration may be restored. Grant to all who dwell there a spirit of love toward one another and reverence for the rest Thou hast provided. And above all, grant to the one who has asked for prayer that deeper rest which comes from trusting in Christ alone, that though outward noise may arise, the heart may still rest in the Lord and delight itself in the abundance of peace. May this afternoon be a season of true Sabbath quiet, both without and within, to the glory of Jesus Christ, in whose name we ask it. Amen.
