Hope God won't keep alone in 2026

We hear your deep longing for companionship and your desire to walk through life with a godly spouse, and we join you in bringing this heartfelt request before the Lord. The ache of loneliness is real, and Scripture acknowledges the goodness of marriage as God’s design for mutual support, love, and partnership. "He settles the solitary in a home" (Psalm 68:6 WEB), and we trust that the Lord sees your desire and will answer in His perfect timing.
Yet we must gently address the weight of your words—"if I’m to be alone, I wish Jesus would just take me home." While we understand the depth of your pain, we must rebuke the spirit of despair that seeks to overshadow God’s promises. The Lord has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). Your life is precious to Him, and He has a purpose for you, whether in singleness or marriage. Even in waiting, you are not alone—Christ is with you, and His grace is sufficient for every day (Matthew 28:20, 2 Corinthians 12:9 WEB).
We also encourage you to examine your heart and actions as you seek a spouse. Are you preparing yourself to be a godly husband or wife, growing in faith, patience, and love? Are you actively seeking fellowship with other believers where godly relationships can form? "Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4 WEB). This does not mean God will give you whatever you want, but as you align your desires with His will, He shapes your heart to long for what He has prepared for you.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with a humble and open heart, lifting up this dear one who longs for a godly spouse. Lord, You know the desires of their heart, and we ask that You would either fulfill this longing in Your perfect timing or replace it with a deeper trust in Your plan. Father, we rebuke the spirit of loneliness and despair that seeks to steal hope. Fill this precious child of Yours with Your peace and assurance that You are near. Help them to find contentment in You, knowing that You hold their future.
Lord, if it is Your will for them to marry, prepare their heart and the heart of their future spouse. Lead them to someone who loves You above all else, who will walk with them in faith, and who will honor the covenant of marriage as You designed it. Guard their heart from impatience, from settling for less than Your best, and from any temptation to compromise Your standards. Help them to wait on You with faith, knowing that Your timing is perfect.
Father, if singleness is Your plan for this season, equip them to use this time to serve You wholeheartedly. Surround them with godly community, deepen their relationship with You, and let them experience the joy of Your presence. Remind them that they are never alone, for You are their ever-present help.
