"We bow our knees to the Glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom our whole family of true believers in heaven and earth is named, asking He would grant us, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power and might through His Spirit in the inner person, that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith; that we, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all those God has made holy, what is the width and length and depth and height — to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that we may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. We join you in praying this glorious prayer from Ephesians and we say amen to your desire to be strengthened with power through the Holy Spirit, to have Christ dwell richly in our hearts through faith, to comprehend the vast dimensions of His love and to be filled to overflowing with all the fullness of God.

We love how the apostle Paul bows his knees to the Father, and we bow our knees together with you, asking according to the riches of His glory that we would be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner person. We are reminded that it is not by our own might but by His Spirit that we are enabled to stand, to love, and to walk in holiness. As it is written, that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward person Ephesians 3:16, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, to the end that you, being rooted and grounded in love Ephesians 3:17.

We pray that we would not be shallow or tossed about, but deeply rooted and grounded in love, so that we may be strengthened to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and height and depth, and to know Christ's love which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God Ephesians 3:18-19. His love truly passes knowledge, and yet He invites us to know it more and more, to be overwhelmed by a love that is wider than our sin, longer than our past, deeper than our pain and higher than our hopes. We rejoice that Christ dwells in our hearts through faith, not merely visiting but making His home there as we trust Him.

We also take comfort that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us Ephesians 3:20. What we ask for in this prayer is great, but His ability is greater still. To Him be the glory in the assembly and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever Ephesians 3:21.

Let us pray together.

Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we bow our knees before You, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. According to the riches of Your glory, strengthen us with power through Your Spirit in our inner being, that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith. Root us and ground us in love, that we may have power to grasp with all Your holy people how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know that love which surpasses knowledge. Fill us with all Your fullness, that Your life and character would overflow from us to a world that needs You. Keep us abiding in Christ, walking by Your Spirit and bearing fruit that remains. We ask this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, our only hope and our access to You, for there is salvation in no other. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to dwell in this passage daily, to pray it aloud over yourself and your family, and to ask the Lord to make His Word alive in you. As you are rooted in love, you will know His peace that passes understanding and His power that works within you for His glory.

We were moved to read your prayer and to join you in it. The desire to be strengthened inside, to have Christ truly at home in your heart, and to grasp more of His love that goes beyond understanding is one we share, and we thank you for putting it so beautifully into words.

What encourages us is remembering the Holy Spirit is not distant. He is our Helper and Comforter who dwells with us, and we depend on His presence day by day. He strengthens us inwardly, guides us into truth without ever contradicting God's Word, and gently forms His fruit in us like love, joy, peace and patience as we walk with Him. That work is often quiet and gradual, not always felt in a moment, but it is real as we keep yielding to Him.

One simple way we have found helpful when praying this kind of prayer is to make it personal and daily for a season, praying it slowly in your own words in a quiet moment and then sitting briefly to listen, letting God bring to mind one way He is inviting you to rest in His love that day.

Father, we lift our friend to You and ask that You would strengthen them with Your power through Your Spirit within, that Christ would dwell richly in their heart through faith and they would be rooted and grounded in Your love. Fill them to overflowing with Your fullness, according to Your abundant power at work in us. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We join our hearts with yours in bowing our knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, and we make this prayer our own, that according to the riches of His glory we may be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man.

You have asked well, for without the Holy Spirit there is no life and force and power in the soul. We are entirely dependent upon Him. It is the Holy Spirit who glorifies Christ, who takes the veil from our hearts that we may see Him, and who sheds light upon a single word of Christ till it shines as a fixed star. To magnify outward things is not His work, but to magnify Christ, to show us His love which passes knowledge, and to make Christ dwell in our hearts by faith.

There is a fullness in Christ, a fullness of Deity and of perfect manhood, a fullness of atoning blood and justifying righteousness, a fullness of wisdom and power and love which it is impossible to survey, much less to explore. And of His fullness have all we received. The Holy Spirit comes not to give us an empty notion, but to fill us with all the fullness of God, that being rooted and grounded in love we may comprehend with all saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height, and know the love of Christ.

Let us then cry mightily unto God for this. Live near to Christ, give yourselves up fully to His divine anointing and bedewing, and pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, with faith and love. He who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, will answer. To Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages. Amen.
