We join you in bowing our knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and we make this beautiful prayer from Eph 3:14-20 our own together with you, asking for the very things the apostle Paul prayed for the saints.

We love how this passage shows the progression of the Spirit's work in us. First that we would be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inward person, then that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith, and as we are rooted and grounded in love we are enabled to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and height and depth and to know Christ's love which surpasses knowledge. It is a love that passes our understanding yet we are invited to know it and to be filled with all the fullness of God. Eph 3:16 says that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward person, Eph 3:17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, to the end that you, being rooted and grounded in love, Eph 3:18 may be strengthened to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and height and depth, Eph 3:19 and to know Christ's love which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. And we cling to the promise of Eph 3:20 Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to him be the glory.

We pray together now, Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we bow before You from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. According to the riches of Your glory grant us to be strengthened with might through Your Spirit in our inner being. Let Christ dwell in our hearts through faith and keep us rooted and grounded in love. Open the eyes of our hearts to comprehend with all Your holy people the vast dimensions of Christ's love, its width and length and height and depth, and to know that love which surpasses knowledge. Fill us to overflowing with all Your fullness and let Your Holy Spirit empower us to walk in love, joy, peace and holiness. Do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think according to Your power at work in us, and to You be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to dwell in this prayer daily, for God delights to answer it. As we are strengthened inwardly we are renewed day by day even when outwardly we may feel weak, as it says in 2 Cor 4:16 Therefore we don't faint, but though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day. Abide in His love, remain rooted in His Word, and let Christ's love compel you, for Eph 3:17 reminds us we are rooted and grounded in love and Col 2:7 says being rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith. May the Lord fill you with all joy and peace in believing that you may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit as promised in Rom 15:13.

This prayer of the apostle is indeed among the most sublime that ever fell from inspired lips, and you do well to bow your knees with him unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is a prayer which the Holy Spirit Himself must teach us to pray, for without His indwelling we cannot glorify Christ nor even rightly seek His glory.

We join our hearts with yours and entreat the Lord, according to the riches of His glory, to grant you to be strengthened with power and might through His Spirit in the inner person. We are such weak things that we cannot honor our Master nor stand fast in faith unless the Holy Spirit holds us up and strengthens us. Only when He comes is there any life and force and power, and therefore we cry mightily unto God that He would work in you by His might.

We pray that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, not as a passing guest but as the abiding Lord. Our sin puts a veil between us and Christ, but the Holy Spirit comes and takes the veil away that we may see Him and receive Him. When you are dealing with the things of Christ you are on Holy Spirit ground, and a single word of Christ set in the light of the Spirit shines like a fixed star that never dims. May the Spirit so reveal the Savior to you that you leap gladly into His arms and live near Him in unbroken fellowship.

We pray also that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the width and length and depth and height, and to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge. It is very sweet when the Holy Spirit shows us how intensely Christ loves His people. That love is too vast to be measured, and yet the Spirit makes it known to the heart that trusts Him, filling the soul with wonder and gratitude.

And we ask that you may be filled with all the fullness of God, kept in the love of God and abiding in it, for true prayer in the Holy Spirit is ever loving prayer, saturated with love to Christ and to His people, and full of faith. May you be kept from grieving that blessed Spirit by unbelief or by love of the world, but may you know His consoling, enlightening and sanctifying presence, for a holy life is the workmanship of the Holy Spirit alone.

Now unto Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
