Beloved of All
It is good that you have taken these words of the Apostle upon your lips, for this prayer is according to the will of God. You ask not for outward prosperity but for inward strength, and this God delights to give.
I pray with you that the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom every family in heaven and earth receives its name, would grant you according to the riches of His glory to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in your inner being. We did not receive the Spirit to shrink back in fear, but to be given power and love and a sound mind, so that we may live with boldness and love toward God and toward one another. Fear dissolves love, but the Spirit establishes it.
And I pray that Christ may dwell in your heart through faith, not as a guest who visits for a moment, but as Lord who abides. This happens when faith is living and active, and when we are rooted and grounded in love. Then you will be able with all the saints to comprehend what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which passes all knowledge, a love that is greater than our understanding can contain, yet real and poured into our hearts.
May you be filled to all the fullness of God, not by your own effort, but by His grace working in you. For He is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think, according to the power at work within us. That power is one, of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and it is given to make us whole, to forgive, to quicken, and to keep us.
So continue to bow your knees and to seek Him. Ask for the Spirit to make you firm within, for Christ to be at home in you, and for love to be your root. To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
