[SIZE-5]🧎🏽‍♂️"We bow our knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, asking He would grant us, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power and might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in our hearts' through faith; that we, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints, what is the width and length and depth and height — to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that we may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen, Eph 3:14-20."

We join you in lifting up this powerful passage from Ephesians 3:14-20, a prayer that stirs the depths of our souls and aligns our hearts with God’s magnificent will. This Scripture is a profound declaration of our dependence on the Holy Spirit’s strength and the indwelling presence of Christ, who alone enables us to grasp the vast dimensions of His love. It is a prayer that calls us to be filled to overflowing with the fullness of God, and we stand in agreement with you, believing that our Heavenly Father is more than able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we ask or think.

Let us first acknowledge the beauty of this prayer, which begins with humility, "we bow our knees to the Father." In a world that often exalts self-sufficiency and pride, this posture of surrender is a powerful reminder that true strength is found in our weakness, when we rely fully on the Lord. The apostle Paul’s words here are not merely poetic; they are a desperate plea for divine intervention, for the Holy Spirit to fortify our inner man so that Christ may dwell richly in our hearts through faith. This is not a passive dwelling, but an active, transformative presence that roots and grounds us in love. It is only through this anchoring in Christ’s love that we can begin to comprehend its width, length, depth, and height, a love that surpasses all human knowledge.

We are called to know this love not just intellectually, but experientially, so that we may be filled with all the fullness of God. What an incredible promise! To be filled with God’s fullness means to be saturated with His presence, His power, His holiness, and His love. It means walking in a way that reflects His character, where His Spirit overflows from us to touch the lives of others. This is not a one-time filling, but a continual process of being renewed and empowered by the Holy Spirit, who works in us and through us.

Yet, we must also address a critical truth: this filling, this power, and this love are only accessible through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The passage you shared begins with "the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ," and it is through Jesus alone that we have access to the Father. As Jesus Himself declared in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and there is no other path to experiencing the fullness of God’s Spirit. If anyone reading this has not surrendered their life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, repent, and invite Jesus to be the Lord of your life. Only then can you truly know the dimensions of His love and be filled with His Spirit.

For those of us who have already placed our faith in Christ, this passage is both an encouragement and a challenge. It encourages us because it reminds us that God’s power is at work within us, enabling us to do far more than we could ever imagine. It challenges us because it calls us to live in a way that reflects this power, to walk in love, to pursue holiness, and to be vessels of God’s grace to a broken world. Are we allowing Christ to dwell in our hearts richly? Are we rooted and grounded in His love, or have we allowed the cares of this world to choke out our faith? Are we seeking to be filled with the fullness of God, or have we settled for a lukewarm, half-hearted relationship with Him?

We must also rebuke any mindset that seeks to limit God’s power in our lives. The enemy would love for us to believe that we are too weak, too broken, or too unworthy to experience the fullness of God’s Spirit. But this passage declares the opposite: God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think. His power is not limited by our circumstances, our past, or our failures. If we are in Christ, we are new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17), and His Spirit dwells within us to empower us for every good work. Let us not quench the Spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:19) or grieve Him (Ephesians 4:30) by holding onto sin, bitterness, or unbelief. Instead, let us yield ourselves fully to Him, asking that He would strengthen us with might in our inner man.

Let us also address the importance of living in a way that honors God, particularly in our relationships. The love of Christ that we are called to comprehend is a holy love, one that is pure, selfless, and sacrificial. If we are to be filled with the fullness of God, we must align our lives with His standards, especially in how we conduct ourselves in our marriages and courtships. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect the relationship between Christ and His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). Any sexual relationship outside of this covenant, whether it be fornication, adultery, or homosexuality, is a sin that grieves the Holy Spirit and hinders our ability to walk in the fullness of God’s power. If you are struggling in this area, we urge you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness and strength to live according to His Word. He is faithful to cleanse us and restore us when we turn to Him in humility (1 John 1:9).

Now, let us pray together, lifting up these truths before the throne of grace:

Heavenly Father, we bow our knees before You, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. We come before You in humility and awe, recognizing that apart from You, we can do nothing. We ask that You would grant us, according to the riches of Your glory, to be strengthened with power through Your Spirit in our inner man. Lord, we long for Christ to dwell in our hearts through faith, that we may be rooted and grounded in love. Help us to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height of Your love, a love that surpasses knowledge, yet we pray to know it more deeply each day.

Father, fill us with all the fullness of God. Let Your Spirit overflow from our lives, touching every area of our hearts and minds. Where we have been weak, strengthen us. Where we have been lukewarm, ignite a fire within us. Where we have allowed sin to take root, cleanse us and restore us. We confess that we cannot live this life in our own strength; we need You, Holy Spirit, to empower us to walk in holiness, love, and obedience.

Lord, we also pray for those who do not yet know You. Soften their hearts to receive the truth of the Gospel. Open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and draw them to Yourself. May they come to know the love of Christ that surpasses all understanding and be filled with Your fullness.

For those of us who are married, we ask that You would strengthen our unions to reflect the love of Christ and the Church. For those who are seeking a spouse, we pray that You would guide them to godly, like-minded believers who share their faith and commitment to You. Help us all to honor You in our relationships, fleeing from sexual immorality and pursuing purity in thought, word, and deed.

Father, we thank You that You are able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. To You be the glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, may His face shine upon you, and may you experience the fullness of His Spirit in every area of your life. Stand firm in the faith, knowing that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6). Walk in His love, His power, and His grace today and always.

We love that your heart is set on these deep realities, strength through the Spirit in the inner man, Christ settling down in your home, grasping the vastness of a love that outstrips mere knowledge, and being filled right up to all the fullness of God. That is no small prayer, and it’s one we gladly join.

What often helps us when we long for such fullness is remembering that this filling is less a one-time mountaintop event and more a rhythmic, daily process. There are ordinary mornings when the kids are loud, the checkbook needs balancing, and the weight of life feels far from glorious, yet those are the exact places Christ comes to dwell by faith. His strength is made perfect not always in grand spiritual highs but in the steady, sometimes quiet endurance of a Tuesday afternoon. That insight has steadied us when we felt far from the experience we were asking for.

So as you keep bowing your knees, don’t be discouraged if the awareness comes gradually. You are already rooted and grounded in love; the Spirit is at work deepening your comprehension over a lifetime. One practical way we’ve found helpful is to speak simple affirmations of truth aloud in the unremarkable moments: “Christ dwells in my heart through faith. I am firmly anchored in his love, even when I don’t feel it.” Language has a way of firming up trust.

We pray with you now:

Father, according to the riches of your glory, strengthen this dear one with power through your Spirit in their inner being. Let Christ settle deeply and comfortably in their heart through faith, making every home in them his own. Ground them so firmly in love that they truly begin to grasp how wide and long and high and deep your kindness is, and fill them, day by day, with all your fullness. In Jesus’ name.

The prayer you have spread before the Lord is drawn from the very heart of the Apostle, and there is no higher aspiration for a soul redeemed. To be strengthened with might by the Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your heart by faith, this is the gospel in the soul, Christ in you, the power of God and the wisdom of God. For in Christ there dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, a fullness of essential Deity and perfect Manhood, a fullness of comfort, wisdom, power, and love. Of that fullness have all His people received, and grace for grace. It is the Father’s good pleasure that in Him should all fullness dwell, man-ward for the sinner and the saint alike. When you come to Christ, God meets you, and a treaty of peace is made.

You desire to comprehend the breadth and length and depth and height of Christ’s love. This is a knowledge that surpasses mere intellect; it requires the Holy Spirit to direct your heart into the love of God. He takes of the things of Christ and shows them to you, for the Spirit does not speak of Himself, He glorifies Christ. Cry mightily, then, for the Spirit’s aid, for without Him there is no life, no force, no power to grasp such love. Do not think any sense of your own sinfulness can bar you from this; a deep sense of sin only prepares the soil. The love of Christ is as high as the heavens, and He is the Man Christ Jesus, tender and approachable. Fall at His dear feet; embrace them with affection. Let your love burn, and spend and be spent for Him.

To be filled with all the fullness of God is a bold petition, but it is according to the riches of His glory, and He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think. Only remember, the path to this fullness lies in entire dependence. The Holy Spirit works with power that only Omnipotence can wield, but He always glorifies Christ. Any whisper that would diminish Christ’s willingness or power to save is not of the Spirit. Today, behold the man Christ Jesus, who once bore our sins in His own body on the tree; now He lives as one who has made full atonement. Trust Him, and you shall know His love without doubt. Then shall your heart, rooted and grounded in love, yield the cream of love to God, and you shall prove in your own experience that Christ is all. To Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You pray well, asking for the strength of the Spirit and for Christ to dwell in your heart. But do not think such a gift is given to those who merely recite words while their life lies in ruins. The Physician offers the medicine, but you must open your mouth to receive it. What is this medicine? The precious Blood of Christ, received with full assurance; the divine Scriptures heard with care; almsgiving added to your hearing. This is the potion that kills the serpents and worms of passion within us. For if gluttony, lust, vainglory, or the love of riches still live in you, how can the King of Glory enter? Those passions are savage jailors, more cruel than any lion; they never release their prey until they have dragged it down to hell. You must first burst those chains by earnestness and zeal. Entreat the Redeemer, but contribute your own part.

You long to comprehend the width and length and depth and height of Christ’s love, a love that surpasses knowledge. Yet it is not by rational inquiry that you will grasp it, but by faith working through love. The knowledge of God is received by faith, and faith is not bare belief but the kind that shares in Christ’s sufferings. If you have not yet endured danger for Him, if you shrink from being conformed to His death, your faith is as yet weak. When Paul hungered, was scourged, and counted it joy, then Christ dwelt richly within him. So then, strive to mortify the affections that mar your soul. Only then will you be alive. For one who is slave to the belly or to soft clothing, though he be arrayed like a king, is more wretched than any prisoner.

Consider what you are asking: to be filled with all the fulness of God. This is nothing less than to be perfected in every virtue, for God is full of all virtue. You ask for a crown; do not refuse the struggle. You ask to be a dwelling of the Lord; make your soul a fit habitation. Put on Christ as a garment. Let Him encircle you on every side. He will be to you all things: husband, root, foundation, and life. Then even in famine and nakedness you will be of better spirit than those who live in luxury. For it is not sumptuousness of table or greatness of power that produces joy, but a good conscience alone. Ahab, though king, groaned and his countenance fell because of one sin; while Paul, in chains, went softer than any emperor.

Therefore, let your prayer be not only on your lips but in your deeds. Hold fast to the adoption, keep an exact watch upon your holiness. For this dignity of sanctification, given of God, is not broken even by death. If you will do this, God who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think will indeed strengthen you in the inner man. Then Christ will dwell in your heart through faith, and you will know the love that passes knowledge, not by words, but by the ineffable experience of His indwelling. To Him be glory in the church forever.

What a beautiful prayer to bring before the Father. You are asking for the very things He delights to give through His Son. When you pray that He would strengthen you with power through His Spirit in the inner man, know that this is not something you must earn or strive for. The Spirit is a gift, received by the hearing of faith, just as you first believed, so you continue to receive all that God has for you. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is the power at work in you right now, making your spirit alive and enabling you to walk in newness of life.

The first evidence that the Spirit of God truly dwells in you is not an experience or a sign, but the testimony He gives to Jesus Christ. The Spirit will always exalt Christ, confessing that He came in the flesh, lived, died, and rose for you. And the fruit that flows from His indwelling is love, unfeigned, genuine love for God and for the brothers and sisters. This is how we can be sure we are being led by the Spirit rather than the flesh. If your heart is being drawn to love Christ more, to love the things of God, and to love His people, you can have confidence that He is at work in the inner man.

Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians includes that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. That word speaks of being at home, settled, and abiding. He is already there if you are His, but the desire is for a deeper, conscious experience of His presence. Yield to the Spirit’s prompting; let Him mortify the deeds of the body and quiet the appetites that war against your soul. As you do, the mind of the Spirit will become your mind, and you will think more and more on spiritual things, the width and length and depth and height of Christ’s love. That love passes knowledge, yet you can comprehend it together with all the saints. It is in the fellowship of the body, loving one another, that the vast dimensions of His love begin to unfold in your experience.

Do not be discouraged if you feel weak or if the enemy tempts you to doubt. We have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with your spirit that you are a child of God. And if a child, then an heir, an heir of God and a joint heir with Christ. This is the glorious mystery hidden from ages past: that you, a Gentile, have been made a fellow heir, a partaker of the promise, and a temple of the Holy Spirit.

So go ahead and bow your knees before that Father from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named. Ask boldly. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think, according to the power that works in you. The Spirit is not given in measure; the measure is the gift of Christ Himself. He will fill you with all the fullness of God, and your life will begin to manifest that fullness as faith works through love. May you walk in the Spirit this week, not fulfilling the desires of the flesh, but experiencing the peace and joy of being led by Him. Live like a child of God, not like the devil you left behind. The Spirit who raised Christ from the dead dwells in you, and He will give life to your mortal body. Rest in that. Your hope is not in your own ability to be holy, but in the righteous one who loved you and gave Himself for you. His love now constrains you, and His Spirit will complete the work He began.
