For this reason, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all the saints, WE DO NOT CEASE giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers, that the God of Our Lord Jesus Christ, The Glorious Father, may give to us The Ho]ly Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation to know Him better (Epignonowsko -- deep, personal and intimate acquaintance). Grant the eyes of our heart to be enlightened so we may know the hope of Your calling, the riches of Your glorious inheritance those You called out of darkness to light, and the surpassing greatness of Your power toward us who believe, which You exerted when You raised Christ (The Anointed and Promised King -- Messiah -- Like King David referred to King Saul as "The Lord's Anointed," -- only Jesus is "The True David of Judah's Line," "The Lord's TRUE Anointed") from the dead and seated Him at Your Right Hand in the Heavenly Places, (Right Hand of Power, Dan 7:13-14), far above all other rule, authority, power and dominion, both in this age and the age to come, and everything having been put under subjection under His feet, The Father has made Him the Head of over all things and given You (all) power for the church, which is which is Your body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. Thank You and you all in Jesus' Name (Ephesians 1:15-23).

We rejoice with you in the richness of these prayers drawn from the book of Ephesians, for they reflect a heart that earnestly seeks the deep things of God. It is beautiful to see your hunger for the Holy Spirit’s wisdom and revelation, that you may know Him more intimately and walk in the fullness of His calling. The apostle Paul’s prayers in Ephesians 1 and 3 are not merely words, they are a blueprint for the believer’s life, a call to rise into the heavenly places where Christ is seated and where we, as His body, are called to reign with Him.

We stand with you in agreement, lifting these very requests before the throne of grace. Father, we ask that You would indeed grant us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You. Open the eyes of our hearts, Lord, that we may see the hope to which You have called us, the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints, and the immeasurable greatness of Your power toward us who believe. That same power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him far above all rule and authority is at work within us. May we walk in the full assurance of this truth, not as those who are weak or defeated, but as those who are more than conquerors through Christ who loved us.

We also pray that Christ would dwell in our hearts through faith, that we, being rooted and grounded in love, would comprehend with all the saints what is the width, length, depth, and height of the love of Christ, which surpasses knowledge. Father, fill us with all Your fullness, that we may be vessels of Your glory in this generation. You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us. To You be the glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Yet, as we pray these truths, we must also examine our hearts to ensure that we are not merely seeking spiritual experiences or blessings for their own sake, but that we are pursuing a deeper relationship with the Person of Christ. The goal of revelation is not just to know about God, but to know Him, to walk in intimacy with the One who loved us and gave Himself for us. Jesus said, "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent" (John 17:3). If our pursuit of wisdom and power does not lead us to greater love for Christ and obedience to His Word, then we have missed the mark.

We must also guard against the temptation to seek spiritual gifts or revelation apart from the fruit of the Spirit. The apostle Paul reminds us that if we have all knowledge and all prophecy, but have not love, we are nothing (1 Corinthians 13:2). True wisdom from God will always produce humility, holiness, and a heart that seeks to serve rather than be served. Let us not be like those who chase after signs and wonders but neglect the weightier matters of the law, justice, mercy, and faithfulness (Matthew 23:23).

Furthermore, we must address the reality that some in the body of Christ today are being led astray by false teachings that promise revelation and power but deny the sufficiency of Scripture. The Word of God is our final authority, and any revelation or wisdom that contradicts it must be rejected. The Bereans were commended because they "examined the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so" (Acts 17:11). We must do the same, testing every spirit and holding fast to what is good (1 Thessalonians 5:21).

Lastly, we must never forget that our access to the Father is only through Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If we come to God in prayer, we must come in the name of Jesus, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Any attempt to approach God through other means, whether through Mary, angels, or so-called saints, is idolatry and a rejection of the finished work of Christ on the cross. Let us hold fast to the truth that "there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5).

So we pray again, Father, that You would grant us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, not for our own glory, but that we may know You more deeply and make You known to a lost and dying world. Strengthen us with power in our inner being, that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith. May we be rooted and grounded in love, able to comprehend the vastness of Your love for us, and filled with all Your fullness. To You, who is able to do far more than we could ever ask or imagine, be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

What a gift your prayer is, not just for you, but for anyone who reads it. You’ve put words around the very thing our hearts ache for most: to know the Father’s love in a way that goes beyond ideas and sinks deep into the core of who we are. We’re joining you in that desire today.

As you dwell in those Ephesians passages, don’t rush. The Holy Spirit often works not just through the asking, but through the abiding. A simple next step might be to take a few unhurried minutes each day this week, read the words slowly, and then sit in the silence, asking God to let the truth of His nearness and love become more real to you than any circumstance. Meditation on Scripture isn’t about achieving something; it’s about making space for the Spirit to gently open the eyes of our heart.

Jesus, we thank you that the Father has given you all authority and that in you we are already seated in heavenly places. Quiet our minds and let the eyes of our hearts be opened wide to see the hope you’ve called us to, the stunning richness of the inheritance we already have in you, and the immeasurable greatness of your power toward us who believe. Root us and ground us so deeply in love that we begin to grasp what can never be fully grasped: the width and length and height and depth of your love for us. Fill us with all the fullness of God, not because we’ve earned it, but because you delight to give it. We ask this together in Jesus’ name. Amen.

What a privilege, to be drawn into such a prayer as this, laden with the very words of Scripture, breathing after the profound mysteries of our faith. The petitions you have spread before the throne are those which the Holy Spirit Himself delights to interpret; they are after the very heart of God. To know Him, not as a name, but with that deep, personal, intimate acquaintance, this is the true science of the saints, the wisdom that is above rubies. For Christ Himself is the power of God and the wisdom of God, and in the knowledge of Him all treasures are hid. Let your soul never be content until, rooted and grounded in love, you comprehend with all saints the breadth, length, depth, and height of love which passeth knowledge.

Be not astonished if this prayer leads you into the valley of humiliation, for the God of the hills is the God of the valleys also. Our faith would never be tested, our love never purified, if the battle always pressed in the same manner. But He who taught us to trust in His name, and not to lean to our own understanding, will show you that the fixity of His promises is more steadfast than the laws of nature. If He grants the eyes of your heart to be enlightened, you will discern His hand in every providence, and you will find that the way to be cleansed from sin is to swim in a sea of love to Him. The man who truly loves says with Joseph, "How can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?" This is the fruit of being strengthened with might in the inner man.

As you ask to know the hope of His calling and the riches of His glorious inheritance, remember that the Throne of God and of the Lamb is the fountain-head of all. See Christ upon that Throne, and you see the guarantee of every blessing. The Father cannot look upon you but in Christ, and you cannot gaze upon God’s holiness without trembling until you behold Him in the Lamb. All the power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him far above all rule and authority is the power that works in you. Therefore, despair not, neither tremble for the Ark of God; the Lord will win the victory. A man of God, alone with God, declaring his ways and being heard, finds that God takes a mutual delight in him. Then will your love be made perfect; then will you be filled with all the fullness of God. The lover of the Truth of God is a follower of the Truth, and as you abide in this love, you become a pillar and ground of the Truth, not by craft, but by the indwelling Spirit. Be you such a man as this, never bow to the varying customs of worldly wisdom, but be invincibly strong in that strength which comes from being directed into the love of God. He who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think, receive glory in the Church throughout all ages. Amen.

You have asked for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God, and rightly so, for this is not a wisdom born of human reasoning. The world with all its disputing and seeking after signs cannot know Him. God has made foolish the wisdom of this world, and it pleased Him through the foolishness of preaching the cross to save those who believe. To the Jews it remains a stumbling block, to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. So when you pray for deep, personal acquaintance with the Glorious Father, understand that this epignosis comes not by scribes or debaters of this age, but by the Holy Spirit who searches even the depths of God.

You ask that the eyes of your heart be enlightened to know the hope of His calling and the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints. This is exactly the prayer the Apostle made, and it is a thing to be sought with great earnestness. But remember: the light of the Spirit is not always spoken of in the same way. Even the Father is called Spirit, and Christ is called the power and wisdom of God, yet not every mention of these words points to the same person. Do not become confused by mere words. The Comforter gives light indeed, but the knowledge you seek is to know the Son, through whom we have access to the Father. He who raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and dominion, has exerted that same immeasurable greatness of power toward us who believe. It is by this power that He drew us to Himself when we were estranged. Do not think that power is limited to the resurrection; it exceeds it, and it works even now in you.

You then bow your knees, asking to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, and that you may comprehend with all the saints the breadth, length, depth, and height of Christ’s love which passes knowledge. This is a great mystery, and no words can teach it fully. That work belongs to the Holy Spirit alone. He outlines these dimensions of love as if pointing to a man, encompassing the upper and under and sides, showing the immensity of God’s care. But you must be strengthened by His might against the trials and carnal reasonings that will surely come. Do not think that quiet, freedom from danger, or a life without fear is always advantageous. The blessed Paul himself once thought so, and he besought the Lord thrice to be freed from a thorn, but he learned that God’s power is perfected in weakness. Afterwards he gloried in persecutions, insults, and necessities. For we know that all things work together for good to them that love God. This includes tribulation, poverty, imprisonment, famine, death, anything seemingly painful. God is able to change them into the opposite and use them to make you approved. This is a far greater thing than simply preventing the trial. So do not choose what you think useful; let the Spirit lead.

Therefore, continue to make this prayer with fervency and without ceasing. Let your love for one another be rooted not in worldly advantage, but for Christ’s sake alone. Such love is jealous with a godly jealousy, burning with affection for the salvation of souls, as God Himself is jealous over us, not out of passion, but out of desire to save. And as you are strengthened, you will know that you are not separated from the Father, but that Christ is with you continually, through the power of the Spirit who teaches all things. To Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever.
