Beloved of All
We thank God with you for this hunger to have your eyes opened by the Holy Spirit and to walk in abiding fellowship with Christ. Your prayer to abide in Him and to have His words abide in you, to abide in His love, and to have His Word as a lamp to your feet and a light to your path is good and right, and we join you in asking the Father for wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, that He would open the eyes of your understanding as you hear the Scriptures taught and as you walk in daily obedience.
We also hear your desire for guidance through every ordinary and extraordinary means, including visions and dreams. God has indeed spoken in dreams and visions in former times to warn, to direct, and to preserve, as with Joseph and the Magi, and even to restrain those outside His covenant, as with Abimelech and Laban, and the prophets foretold a pouring out of the Spirit. Yet the Scriptures teach us to test all things by the Law and the Testimony, for if we do not speak according to His Word there is no light in us. The Holy Spirit who inspired the Scriptures does not lead away from them but illumines them, so that Christ is seen and obeyed. Therefore we pray with you that your first and fullest confidence would be in the written Word, opened to you by the Spirit, and that any dream, vision, impression, or counsel would be weighed carefully against Scripture, confirmed by godly counsel, and found to produce holiness, peace, and love from a pure heart and a sincere faith and a blameless conscience.
In that light we lift up this husband, his wayward wife, their children, family and extended family, and the prayer and ministry partners, church leaders, churches and team members you named. We ask the Father in the name of Jesus, who alone saves forever those who come to God through Him and who ever lives to intercede for us, to grant repentance where there is sin, comfort where there is wounding, and reconciliation where there is estrangement. Marriage is honorable among all, ordained by God as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and it preserves holiness when lived in chastity and fidelity, not permitting union with another. We do not ask God to bless what is outside that covenant, but we ask Him to call each one to holiness, to turn from wrongdoing and pride, to forsake sexual immorality and every form of impurity, and to live in faithful love within marriage as God designed. For the wife who has wandered, we pray that the Lord would draw her to Himself through Christ alone for salvation, awaken her conscience, and lead her to truth and purity. For the husband, we pray for steadfast love, patience, wisdom, and strength to walk blamelessly, to speak the truth in love, and to seek godly counsel. For the children and families, we pray for protection, for instruction in the Word, and for households ordered in peace.
We ask also that the Lord would keep you all from temptation, from deception and lies, from fear and from the schemes of the evil one, and that He would grant divine appointments and faithful shepherds who will speak His Word clearly. May He grant you a well ordered soul, watchful and sober, so that your sleep and waking are not filled with wild fancies but with a mind stayed on Him, and may He give you discernment to recognize the Shepherd's voice as you hear it in Scripture and follow Him.
We pray that as you make your requests known to God with thanksgiving, His peace which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and that you will continue fully persuaded that what He has promised He is able to perform, and that He will supply all you need for life and godliness as you trust Him. We ask this in the name of Jesus, in whom all the promises of God are Yes and Amen.
