Holding my peace

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Glory to the Most High God through His son his son Jesus. God says “ to hold my peace and let the lord fight my battles victory is mine” amen I am resisting the devil in verbal confrontation and I am convinced that he shall flee from me I’ve had enough I will just stand on the word god will perfect all the concerns me period. Thank you for your intercession and thank Jesus for going to the father for me amen

We stand with you in this spiritual battle, lifting your words of faith and determination before the throne of grace. It is clear that you are rooted in the truth of God’s Word, and we rejoice in your resolve to resist the enemy and stand firm in Christ. The Scripture declares, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7 WEB). Your conviction that victory is yours through Jesus is a testament to the power of faith, and we affirm that the Lord is indeed fighting your battles.

Yet, we must gently remind you, and all who read this, that while we stand in the authority of Christ, our resistance to the enemy must always be coupled with humility and wisdom. The Word also warns, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8 WEB). Even as we resist, we must guard our hearts against pride or anger, for the enemy seeks to provoke us into sin. "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger" (Proverbs 15:1 WEB). Let your resistance be marked by the fruit of the Spirit, love, patience, and self-control, so that the devil finds no foothold in your life.

We also lift up the importance of prayerful discernment in verbal confrontations. While it is right to stand on God’s Word, we must ensure that our words align with His heart. "Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one" (Colossians 4:6 WEB). The Lord may call us to speak truth in love, but He also calls us to hold our peace when silence is the greater weapon. Trust that the Holy Spirit will guide you in when to speak and when to remain still, for "the Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace" (Exodus 14:14 WEB).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, giving You all the glory and honor. We thank You for the faith of our brother/sister, who stands firm on Your promises and resists the schemes of the enemy. Lord, we ask that You would strengthen their spirit with Your peace and fill their mouth with words that bring life, not strife. Where the enemy seeks to provoke, let Your Holy Spirit bring calm. Where the battle rages, let Your victory shine forth.

Father, we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We bind every spirit of contention, anger, and division in Jesus’ name, and we loose the peace of God to reign in every situation. Help them to walk in wisdom, knowing when to speak and when to hold their peace, always reflecting the love and truth of Christ.

We thank You, Lord, that You are perfecting all that concerns them. You are their defender, their shield, and their strong tower. May they continue to trust in You, knowing that You go before them and fight on their behalf. We pray this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Continue to stand on the Word, dear one, and remember that the battle is not yours, but the Lord’s. Keep your heart fixed on Him, and He will lead you into perfect peace. "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You" (Isaiah 26:3 WEB). We stand with you in faith, believing that God will bring every situation to its rightful conclusion for His glory.

Thank you for standing with me and all of my speech to the adversaries is always peaceful even though they want me to retaliate with harshness. God forbid I refuse to quench the Holy Spirit because of the actions of my foes amen

Thank you for sharing this. We hear the fierce resolve in your words, and the weariness too. You’ve decided to stop engaging in verbal battles and to trust God to fight for you, and that takes real humility and strength, especially when you’ve simply had enough.

One thing we’ve seen over the years is that learning to hold our peace is rarely a single dramatic decision. It’s more like walking: slow, steady steps, often tested in small, annoying moments. So when the urge to jump back into the fray surfaces, it’s not failure, it’s just another opportunity to hand the whole mess over again. You’re building endurance, and that’s how deep change often comes.

A practical thing that sometimes helps in those tense moments is to have a plan ahead of time. Decide on a short phrase you’ll quietly breathe (something like “Jesus, I trust You with this”) and then physically step away, end the conversation, walk into another room, or simply refuse to engage until you’ve had a minute to settle. Small acts of restraint can displace big temptations to retaliate.

We’re grateful you let us stand with you in prayer.

Lord Jesus, thank You that You see every unfair word and every battle that has worn Your child down. Steady them now with Your peace. Sharpen their discernment to know when to speak and when to be silent. As they step back, we ask You to step in and bring justice in Your way, in Your time. Surround them with faithful friends who will hold them up. Amen.

I appreciate the time that I have accepted Jesus as my lord and savior thank god for Jesus

You speak of holding your peace and letting the Lord fight your battles. This is well, but see to it that your peace is not a peace that comes from forgetting God, for that is a sorry sham. The peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus, this is the true peace. If your mind is stayed on Him, He will keep you in perfect peace; He will keep you in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Him. Lay hold upon His strength, and make peace with Him. Since Jesus is our Peace, the enmity is slain. He is the God of peace, who justifies, and thereby implants peace in the soul; He brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus. Stand wholly on His Word; let the Word of God have an inside place in your heart, for if you stand partly on man's word, you will have one foot upon quicksand. Trust in the Lord forever, for His Word is faithful, true, and steadfast. Resisting the devil, subdue iniquity, and peace wins the victory. He that is the God of peace shall preserve peace, and He shall perfect all that concerns you. Then let your soul cry out, "My Lord and my God!" Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
