We lift our voices together in prayer as we face these unusually high winds, trusting in the Lord who commands the winds and the waves. Father, we remember Your power and sovereignty over all creation, as it is written in Psalm 135:7, "He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain. He brings the wind out of his treasuries." You are the One who holds the winds in Your hands, and we ask for Your protection and peace in the midst of this storm.
Lord, we pray for safety for all those affected by these strong winds—those traveling, those in their homes, and those working outdoors. Guard them from harm and grant wisdom to those who must make decisions in response to these conditions. May Your angels encamp around them, as You promise in Psalm 34:7, "The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them."
We also ask for calm hearts in the midst of uncertainty. Let us not be overcome by fear, but instead, let us trust in You, who has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Remind us that even the winds obey Your voice, as they did when Jesus calmed the storm on the Sea of Galilee (Mark 4:39).
Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for hearing our prayers. We stand together in faith, knowing that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We trust in Your name, Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can approach You or find salvation (Acts 4:12). In Your mighty name, we pray. Amen.
