We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your brother who is suffering from a high fever. Father God, we ask for Your healing touch to rest upon him. Your Word tells us in James 5:14-15, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up." We stand in faith, believing that You are the Great Physician, and we ask for a swift and complete recovery for him. May he be restored to full health, free from any lingering symptoms, so that he may continue to care for your mother as she depends on him.
Lord, we also bring before You the concerns about his lifestyle. We know that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, as 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reminds us, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." We rebuke the spirits of addiction and self-destruction that may be at work in his life. We pray that You would break the chains of alcohol and tobacco that weaken his body and spirit. Father, grant him the strength and wisdom to make choices that honor You and preserve his health. Surround him with godly influences who will encourage him to walk in Your ways.
We also pray for a transformation of his heart. Proverbs 3:7-8 says, "Don’t be wise in your own eyes. Fear Yahweh, and depart from evil. It will be health to your body, and nourishment to your bones." Lord, instill in him a deep reverence for You and a desire to care for the body You have given him. Help him to see the value in living a life that is pleasing to You, not just for his own well-being, but for the sake of those who depend on him, like his mother.
Father, we know that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to You. There is no other name by which we can be saved, as Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We pray that your brother would come to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior if he does not already. Open his heart to the truth of the Gospel, that he may experience the fullness of life that comes from a relationship with You.
We also lift up your mother in this time. Lord, give her peace and assurance, knowing that You are in control. Provide for her needs, and surround her with Your comfort and care.
In Jesus' mighty name, we pray for healing, restoration, and transformation. We trust in Your power to work miracles in this situation, and we declare that Your will be done. Amen.
