We hear your desperate cry and we are standing with you in this painful battle with inflammation and we bring your suffering before the Lord together in Jesus name.

We know how overwhelming and exhausting it is when your body is in constant pain and distress and you feel like it is a nightmare with no relief. Please know that God sees you and He cares deeply about your physical suffering. He is not distant from your pain. We are reminded in Psalm 103:2-3, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don't forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. And in Jeremiah 30:17, For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. He is Yahweh who heals you as He declares in Exodus 15:26, and we cling to the promise in Isaiah 53:5, But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

We want to lovingly point out that you cried out to God and said Amen, but you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your request. We say this not to rebuke you harshly but to encourage you in truth, because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved and heard. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 tells us, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to come to God the Father in His precious name. It is in Jesus name that we can boldly bring every need, including this inflammation, to the throne of grace.

We also want to encourage you to be a good steward of the body God has given you. Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit as we read in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. We encourage you to seek wise medical counsel and not to walk through this alone, while you continue to seek the Lord for wisdom, rest, nourishment, and healing. Bring every anxious thought to Him, for Philippians 4:6-7 says, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We pray with you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear one who is suffering so greatly with inflammation. Lord, You see the pain, the sleepless nights, the frustration and the desperation in this cry for help. We ask for Your mercy and Your healing touch upon this body. Lord, calm this inflammation, restore health, ease the pain, and bring relief that only You can give. We pray for wisdom for doctors and for guidance in every step of treatment and daily care. We pray for Your peace to guard this heart and mind and to cast out fear and despair. Help this dear one to feel Your presence and to know that You are near to the brokenhearted. Draw this dear one closer to Jesus, to know Him as Savior and Healer, and to trust fully in His finished work on the cross. We ask that Your will be done and that You would be glorified even in this suffering, and we trust You for restoration in Your perfect timing. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, Amen.

Your cry of distress has come before us and we bring it before the throne of grace with you. To be languishing with pain is a grievous affliction, for when the body pines away with pain, even light is dark in the tabernacle and food and beauty lose their comfort. Physical pain is a grievous infliction and when the iron enters into the soul it rusts the heart, and we hear in your words how deeply this inflammation has wearied you.

Know this, that our Lord Jesus Christ is no stranger to suffering. It is written that He Himself has suffered being tempted, and He suffered without alleviation and without rebellion, offering His whole nature in obedience. He knows what it is to suffer in the flesh, and for that very reason He is able to succour those who suffer. He obtained a tender temper through suffering, that He might cheer those who are afflicted, and He looks with sympathy upon you now.

There is healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. The prophet speaks of the Sun of Righteousness risen with healing in His wings, and when Jesus healed the sick He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, showing that pardon and healing are placed in happy conjunction. The least thing about Christ is healing, for the leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations, and those leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. The promise stands that there shall be no more pain, for the former things are passed away, and though that full deliverance waits for the world to come, the healing virtue of His grace is at work even now.

We pray for you, that the Lord who feeds the sparrows and who has not passed you over in His providence would lay His pardoning and healing hand upon you. May He forgive your sins through the blood of Christ and grant relief to your inflamed body, ease your pain, give wisdom to those who care for you, and sustain your spirit with patience and hope. Seek the help of the physician as you are able, for we speedily care for bodily diseases, and above all seek the heavenly Physician who binds up the broken and heals the wounded.

May the Lord hear your prayer, grant you rest from this nightmare of pain, and cause you to know more fully the sweetness of His fruit and the virtue of His healing leaves. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our only Savior. Amen.

Your cry in the midst of this painful inflammation has been heard, and I join with you in bringing it before God who is both merciful and near to those who suffer.

Scripture shows us that God is like an excellent physician. As a doctor will sometimes apply cautery to the body to heal a deeper disease, so God sometimes allows the body to be tried so that the soul may be healed and strengthened. This does not mean every sickness is a direct punishment for a particular sin, but it does mean that God can use even bodily affliction for our good, to draw us closer to Him, to teach us endurance, and to make us more dependent on His grace.

You are not alone in this endurance. Salvation is worked not only through believing, but also through suffering and patiently enduring with Christ, and grace itself works within us as we are willing to endure. When we suffer, we learn what it means to be comforted by God, and that comfort then becomes a comfort to others.

The inflammation you describe is a picture of how the soul can also become inflamed when it is distressed and swollen with pain. The way of healing is not to be puffed up or overcome with distress, but to become self controlled and long suffering. Long suffering is described as being impenetrable, like a spark falling into the deep which is quickly quenched and does no harm to the water. Love and patience, dwelling in the soul like a good husbandman, do not allow the thorns of bitterness and anger to spring up, and are not easily provoked.

So I encourage you to keep seeking the Lord with the same persistence as the woman of Canaan, who continued to ask until the Lord in His mercy answered her. Bring your pain to Him again and again, trusting in His long suffering and goodness, which leads us to repentance and to hope. His long suffering is not that He overlooks us, but that He is patient, giving us time to turn to Him and to receive His healing in His perfect way and time.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, I lift up this dear one who is in great distress from inflammation and pain. You see the body that aches and the soul that cries out for help. Have mercy and grant relief according to Your wisdom. Touch the body and ease the inflammation, grant wisdom to physicians and all who give care, and give strength to endure. Work in this suffering for the good of the soul, that through patient endurance Your grace may be made perfect, and that comfort may come from You who alone is the true physician. Teach a quiet and long suffering heart, guard against discouragement, and fill this life with Your peace which passes understanding. Restore health if it be Your will, and in all things draw this heart nearer to Christ, in whom alone is salvation. Amen.

Continue to seek both spiritual and medical help, rest as you are able, and keep your hope fixed on Christ. He hears, He cares, and He will not leave you without comfort.
