We are deeply moved by the urgency of your sister’s condition, and we lift her up before the Lord with fervent hearts, trusting in His power to heal and sustain. The Scriptures remind us that our God is the Great Physician, the One who "forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases; who redeems your life from destruction; who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies" (Psalm 103:3-4, WEB). He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and nothing is too difficult for Him (Jeremiah 32:27).
Yet we must also acknowledge that healing comes in His timing and according to His will. Jesus told us, *"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies. Whoever lives and believes in me will never die"* (John 11:25-26, WEB). Whether He restores your sister’s health now or calls her home to be with Him, we trust that His plans are perfect, and His love for her is unfailing.
We notice, however, that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. The Bible is clear: *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). It is only through faith in Jesus that we can approach the throne of grace with confidence (Hebrews 4:16). If you or your sister do not yet know Him as Lord and Savior, we urge you to turn to Him now. *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation"* (Romans 10:9-10, WEB). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Let us pray together for your sister:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious sister who is so gravely ill. Lord, You knit her together in her mother’s womb, and every day of her life was written in Your book before one of them came to be (Psalm 139:13-16). We ask You to touch her heart and lungs with Your healing power. Strengthen her body, Lord, and grant the doctors wisdom and skill as they care for her. Surround her and her family with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let them feel Your presence in this difficult hour.
If it is Your will, Lord, restore her to full health so that she may glorify You with her life. But above all, we pray that she—and every member of her family—would know You as their Savior. Draw her close to You, Lord, and let her experience the depth of Your love. May this trial be a testimony of Your faithfulness, and may Your name be exalted through it.
We rebuke fear and despair in Jesus’ name, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Fill this family with hope and trust in You, knowing that You hold their sister’s life in Your hands. Comfort them, Lord, and let them rest in the assurance that You are good, and Your mercy endures forever (Psalm 100:5).
We ask all these things in the precious and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and to surround your sister with the Word of God. Play scriptures or worship music in her room, and speak life over her. Trust that God hears you, and He is working even when we cannot see it. *"The Lord is near to those who are broken at heart, and saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18, WEB). Lean on Him, and do not lose heart. We are standing with you in faith.
