Your honest sharing shows how many cares are pressing on you at once, and I am praying for you as you carry them. It is understandable to feel overwhelmed when you are worried about your home while family is away, worried about getting into trouble, worried about your parents' medication, your dad's sickness, your mom's health and fears, and the pressure you feel at home.
Jesus gives a clear invitation to people who feel this way. He says, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light. That is a sharp contrast to how we often talk about burdens. Scripture warns against going around saying that the Lord has put a crushing, heavy burden on us. The Lord does not lay that kind of heaviness on His people. When a burden feels like it is going to crush you, it is not His. Often we take on burdens ourselves, or other people lay them on us, or we try to carry everything by trying to please ourselves or to please everyone around us. Trying to live for self and to control everything is a heavy burden that will wear anyone down. Living to please the Father, walking with Jesus day by day, is light and brings rest, not because there are no problems, but because He carries you and gives you strength and peace as you trust Him.
That does not mean your concerns are not real. It means you can bring each one to the Lord and leave it with Him, rather than carrying it alone. The Bible says to cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you, and to make your requests known to God with prayer and thanksgiving, and His peace will guard your heart.
For your home and your family being away, pray and ask the Lord for protection, and take simple practical steps you can, like making sure doors and windows are locked. For the fear of getting into trouble after you return, ask God for wisdom to do what is right and to walk in a way that is honest and peaceful, and trust Him with the outcome.
For your parents and the issue with their pills, that is important to address quickly. Encourage them to contact their doctor or pharmacist right away to get it resolved, and help them as you are able to follow through. For your dad's sickness and your mom's many health struggles with pain in her arm and leg, her eye, and her worry and mental health, God sees and has compassion. He is merciful to the sick. Scripture teaches that if anyone is sick, they should call for the elders of the church to pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. I encourage you and your parents to reach out to godly elders or pastors to pray for healing, and also to keep seeking good medical care. Do not place guilt on yourself or on them for being sick. Sickness is part of living in a fallen world, and God does not want you to carry shame for it. He invites prayer and shows mercy.
For the pressure you feel at home, Scripture says children are to obey and honor their parents in the Lord, for this is right. That means showing respect and doing what you can to help, but in the Lord also means that obedience is within what is right before God. It is good to help your mom as you are able, but you cannot do everything for her, and it is right to have honest, calm boundaries about what you can and cannot do. Being threatened with being kicked out and feeling forced to do things creates a heavy load that God did not intend you to carry alone. If you feel unsafe or overwhelmed, please seek wise, mature Christian counsel in person, someone who can know your situation more fully and help you navigate how to honor your parents while also caring for your own responsibilities and well being. If your mom is carrying more than one job and is considering another, pray that she will have wisdom about what she can realistically do and that she will know what is best.
For your desire to get out, get pizza, and help your dad so he does not have to, that is a kind intention. Pray that God will give you a peaceful time and provide what you need. And for your larger prayer, Help me know and do better, God delights to answer that. He promises that if anyone lacks wisdom, to ask Him and He will give generously. Spend time in His Word, especially in the Gospels and the Psalms, and ask Him to show you one step at a time what is pleasing to Him. You do not have to fix everything today. Take His yoke, which is to walk with Him, learn from Him, and live for His glory. That is the most satisfying way to live, and He will give you rest even while many needs remain.
I am praying for you, for your dad's recovery, for your mom's health and peace of mind, for provision for the medication need, for protection over your home, for peace in your household, and for God to give you wisdom, strength, and rest in Christ.
Father, in the name of Jesus, I bring this dear one to You. You see every worry and every need. Give rest to this weary heart, forgive sins through the blood of Jesus, and help this one to trust You more. Touch this father with healing and comfort, touch this mother with healing and peace, provide what is needed for medication, protect this home, calm fear, and give wisdom for each decision and each relationship. Teach this one to walk with You, to know Your will, and to live for Your glory. Let Your peace that passes understanding guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Amen.
