Help

The heaviness you feel is not without hope. You are seeing clearly enough to know that your anger has hurt people, and that sorrow can be the beginning of real repentance. But repentance is more than feeling sorry. It means change. The anger that keeps breaking out at the worst times will not be broken by trusting your own self-control. Scripture says to cease from anger and forsake wrath, and the way to do that is to trust in the Lord rather than in yourself. God knows your weakness, he knows the damage, and he still loves you.

You did not mean for this to happen, but the wound is still real. Do not let good intentions become an excuse. Own the harm plainly, then turn from it. You said you hope God forgives you. Do not stop at hoping. Come to him and ask. There is cleansing for the one who confesses. The only thing keeping you from that forgiveness is refusing to receive what Jesus has already paid for. You do not have to let this hound your conscience forever. Once sin is confessed, God does not keep demanding punishment from you. People may condemn you, and you may condemn yourself, but Jesus does not condemn the one who comes to him in repentance.

Your willingness to do whatever it takes is good, but let it take the shape of fruit that shows repentance. That means a changed pattern, not just a promise. When anger starts to rise, do not trust the moment. Step back, ask God for help, and refuse to let your temper speak or act for you. Trust in the Lord rather than in your own ability to hold yourself together. That is the change people need to see over time. It is better to put your trust in God than to put your confidence in yourself or in other people.

You cannot force anyone to give you another chance. You can ask humbly, own the harm without excusing it, and give them room. If they forgive, receive it as mercy. If they are not ready, keep walking in repentance anyway. God changed the heart of Esau so that anger gave way to embrace, and he can work in the hearts of others as well. Trust him with what you cannot control, and keep trusting him with the part you can change. The kindness of God is drawing you to repentance. Let it lead you all the way.
