The Lord who made heaven and earth knows your need before you ask, yet He often delays that He may teach you to trust without seeing, to bless Him even in the waiting. You have been blessed already, blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. Is that not enough? Or has the stony heart not yet been taken from your flesh?
Sit and bless God from this moment. Bless Him for the pain that drives you to your knees. Bless Him for the empty purse that empties you of self-reliance. The blessing you truly need is not silver, but sanctification, cleansing from the filthiness of your idolatrous love of ease. When the Master washes your feet, do not cry out for what He has not promised; trust that He gives what is best.

If your mind is set on God, even a cup of cold water given in love will not lose its reward.
Your painful waiting is not a sign that God has abandoned you. Remember Jacob, who spent his days in servitude and fear, and said, "Few and evil have my days been." Yet the blessing did not fail; it was stored up for the life to come. Do not despise the Lord's long-suffering. He tarries that you might learn to trust not in money, but in Him who provides every spiritual blessing in Christ. What are you lacking? You are made a son, a fellow-heir with Christ. This is far greater than silver or gold.
In your need, do not only ask for money. Stretch out your hand to give what you have, even if it is only a kind word or a patient endurance of your poverty.
