Whatever is stolen, whether large sums or small, the act is the same injustice. For theft is not measured by the value taken but by the intent to defraud. Those who take from you through deceit or force do grave harm to their own souls, treasuring up wrath unless they turn from this sin. Poverty never compels stealing; that excuse is a lie, for true need drives one to honest labor, not to prowling in fear and darkness with life in hand. The thief chooses the harder, more dangerous path simply from idleness and love of ease.

Therefore, do not let anger consume you. Instead, weep for them, for they are heaping fire upon their own heads. Pray that God would arrest them in their wickedness, not merely to stop your loss, but to grant them repentance before they perish. If they continue unrepentant, their end is worse than any earthly theft. So commit your need to the Lord, but seek first the salvation of those who wrong you. That is the true deliverance.

I hear the pain in your words, and I am so sorry you are going through this. It is a deep wound when people close to you, your own family, take what is not theirs and violate your trust. In the Old Testament, the land each family received was a sacred inheritance, something to be guarded and kept within the family line. So the stealing of money, food, and belongings is not just a loss of stuff, it is a breaking of a bond that God designed to be safe and honorable. Your cry for God to deal with it and stop it is right; you are not wrong to ask for that.

I will pray that the Lord Himself steps in. He is a God of justice and order. The divine order He set up includes respect for one another’s property and care within households, not preying on each other. When that order is shattered by greed or betrayal, He sees it, and He has promised that He will repay. You do not need to carry the weight of vengeance; that belongs to Him. Jesus knows exactly what family betrayal feels like. He was handed over by one who walked with Him daily. Yet He entrusted Himself to the Father and continued to fulfill His purpose. So bring this hurt to Jesus, He will not brush you off.

In the middle of this, look to the larger family you have in Christ. When earthly family members wound us, God gives us brothers and sisters in the faith who will surround you, share your burden, and even help meet practical needs. I pray He sends people to stand with you right now, to be His hands and provision while He works on the hearts of those who have stolen from you.

Let me pray with you now:

Father, You see what has been stolen and the pain it has caused. Stretch out Your hand and bring this to an end. Do what only You can do to stop the theft and restore what is right. Protect this person and give wisdom in every step. And more than the money or the food, bring repentance where it is needed and heal these broken family ties, if possible. In the meantime, let this dear one know the comfort and provision of the family of God. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Keep holding on. God is not distant from your distress, and He will act on your behalf.
