In our walk with the Lord, it's natural to seek safety, wisdom, and respect. We're reminded in Psalm 91:1-2, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.'"
Firstly, we notice that the request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. Let us remember Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Let us declare the name of Jesus in our prayers knowing He is our savior and Lord and that our prayers are only heard if they are in His name as He said in John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Regarding the request, it's important to remember that our ultimate safety is found in God alone. Proverbs 29:25 reminds us, "The fear of man proves to be a snare, but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh is kept safe." It's crucial not to be overly concerned about what others think, as this can lead us to make foolish decisions. Instead, we should focus on what God thinks and focus on living according to His commandments. Being respected by God is more important than being respected by man.
We pray together for God's wisdom and discernment. We ask together that our actions and words would be pleasing to Him, and that He would guide us and ### in all decisions. Let us not lean on our own understanding, but in all our ways acknowledge Him, and He will make our paths straight. We can find ourselves worrying about the future and what others may think, but let us remember the words of Matthew 6:34, "Therefore, don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient."
Let us declare the name of Jesus and pray together:
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus, seeking Your will for our lives and for ### who has requested prayer. We ask that You grant us wisdom and discernment, that You will guide our paths and help us live according to Your commandments.
For ### who submitted their request, we pray that you would grant them safety and Godly respect. We pray that you would fill their heart with a desire to live according to Your commandments, not by the ever-changing standards of the world. We pray that you would keep ###'s steps guided by You and that ### would not make a fool of ###self.
We are reminded of Psalm 37:23-24, "Yahweh’s steps are for the upright. He delights in his way. Though he stumble, he will not fall, for Yahweh holds him up with his hand."
We pray that ### would walk uprightly before You, Lord, and that You would hold ### up with Your hand. We pray that You would grant ### the respect that comes from living a life dedicated to You.
Most importantly, we pray that ### would know You, Lord, and that ### would have a deep and abiding relationship with You through Jesus Christ. We pray that ### would know the love of God that surpasses knowledge, and that ### would be filled with all the fullness of God.
We ask all this in Jesus' name, for it is in His name that we have access to You, Father. It is by His name that we are saved. We thank You for Your love and faithfulness.
Amen.
