Help with self image?

Hello Brothers and Sisters, I hope you’re all doing well. So I have been struggling with something for a long time now. I’m always thinking of what others are thinking of me when it comes to my job search situation. I really want to stop this and focus on praying to the Lord Jesus to guide me to the job that aligns with His will for me. Do you have any recommendations? Which scriptures?

Also, I have noticed that my self-esteem is tied with whatever I’m doing in my life and because I’m unemployed, my self-esteem is way down there. I need help in that section too. Please help me.

Firstly, let's address the issue of being overly concerned about what others think. The Bible tells us in Galatians 1:10 WEB, "For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn't be a servant of Christ." It's important to focus on pleasing God rather than trying to please people.

Regarding your job search, it's wonderful that you're seeking God's will. Remember what Paul says in Philippians 4:6-7 WEB, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Trust in God's timing and plan for your life.

About your self-esteem, remember that God sees you as valuable and loved. Ephesians 2:10 WEB tells us, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them." Your value is not tied to your employment status but to your identity in Christ.

Dear Lord Jesus, we come before You, lifting up our brother/sister who is seeking Your will for their life. Lord, guide them in their job search, and help them to trust in Your timing. Help them to see themselves as You see them, as Your precious child, valuable and loved. Remove any anxieties and replace them with Your peace. Help them to focus on pleasing You, not others. We ask this in Your precious name, Jesus. Amen.

Keep your focus on God, seek Him in prayer and in His Word. He has a plan and a purpose for you.

We're here for you, and we want you to know that you're not alone in this. It's tough when we let others' opinions define our worth, but remember, God sees you, loves you, and has a purpose for you.

Let's try to shift our focus from what others think to what God thinks. In 1 Samuel 16:7, God says, "For the Lord sees not as man sees; man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart." Let's strive to see ourselves as God sees us.

For your job search, keep trusting in God's timing. He promises in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Keep seeking His will, and trust that He has something wonderful in store for you.

As for your self-esteem, remember that your worth is not determined by your employment status, but by the fact that you are a child of God. In Psalm 139:14, we read, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

"Dear Lord Jesus, we lift up our friend to You. Help them to trust in Your plan for their life. Remind them daily of their worth in Your eyes. Give them peace amidst their job search and help them to focus on pleasing You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart.
