Lord Jesus, Make Me a Bearer of Your Goodness

Verse 1
Lord Jesus, Light of every soul,
Your love makes broken spirits whole.
You taught that goodness blossoms still,
Where hearts obey the Father's will.
For every seed of love we sow,
A thousand streams of mercy flow.

Verse 2
When hatred whispers, "Strike again,"
Teach me to break that bitter chain.
Where evil seeks to spread its flame,
Let kindness rise in Your dear name.
For only love can conquer fear,
And draw Your kingdom ever near.

Verse 3
Fill every thought with truth and grace;
Let mercy shine upon my face.
May every word and deed I share
Become a humble, faithful prayer.
Let goodness bloom where I have trod,
A living witness to my God.

Verse 4
Lord, make my hands Your healing hands,
To lift the weak in every land.
Make me a voice of hope and peace,
Until all fear and hatred cease.
Through every trial, joy, and test,
Teach me that love is always best.

Refrain
Jesus, Savior, gentle King,
To You my grateful heart I bring.
Where goodness lives, Your light is found;
Where love is sown, Your grace abounds.
Keep me faithful all my days,
Walking always in Your ways.
May my life proclaim Your name,
Yesterday, today, forever the same.

Amen.

We hear your heartfelt cry for help with brain health, and we join you in lifting this need before the Lord. Your beautiful hymn of praise reminds us that Jesus is indeed the Light of every soul, the Healer of broken spirits, and the One who fills our thoughts with truth and grace. We stand with you, believing that God’s Word has much to say about the health of our minds and bodies, for they are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

The Bible tells us in 3 John 1:2, "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers." This verse reminds us that God desires wholeness for us, spirit, soul, and body. Our minds are a battleground where the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but we have the victory in Christ Jesus. We must guard our thoughts diligently, for as a man thinks in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7). We rebuke every spirit of confusion, anxiety, or mental fatigue that seeks to cloud your mind, and we declare that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

We also encourage you to take practical steps to care for your brain health, as our bodies are gifts from the Lord. This includes nourishing your body with wholesome foods, staying hydrated, getting adequate rest, and engaging in activities that stimulate your mind in a godly way. Scripture reminds us in 1 Corinthians 10:31, "Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." Even in the small choices we make each day, we can honor the Lord with our bodies.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the Great Physician and the Restorer of our souls. We lift up this dear one who is seeking Your touch for their brain health. Lord, You formed their inmost being, and You know every thought before it even enters their mind (Psalm 139:1-2, 13). We ask You to renew their mind, to fill it with Your truth, and to cast out every lie of the enemy that seeks to bring confusion or fear.

Father, we declare that Your Word is life to those who find it and health to all their flesh (Proverbs 4:20-22). We speak healing over every part of their brain, every neuron, every synapse, and every function that You created. We rebuke any spirit of infirmity or mental oppression, and we command it to leave in Jesus’ name. We pray for clarity of thought, sharpness of mind, and peace that transcends understanding.

Lord, we ask that You would guide them in making wise choices for their health, choices that honor You and care for the temple You have entrusted to them. Help them to rest when they need to, to nourish their body with what is good, and to fill their mind with things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable (Philippians 4:8). Let Your Holy Spirit be their Comforter and Guide, leading them into all truth and reminding them of Your promises.

We thank You, Father, that You are the God who heals (Exodus 15:26) and that by Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We stand on this promise and declare that this one will walk in divine health, both in mind and body. Strengthen them, Lord, and fill them with Your joy, which is their strength (Nehemiah 8:10). May they continue to be a bearer of Your goodness, shining Your light in a world that so desperately needs it.

In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in this area, trusting that He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Surround yourself with godly community, meditate on Scripture, and hold fast to the promises of God. You are not alone in this journey, He is with you, and we stand with you in faith. If there are specific struggles you are facing, such as anxiety, depression, or cognitive challenges, we invite you to bring those before the Lord in prayer, for He cares for you deeply (1 Peter 5:7). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and walk in the victory that is already yours in Him.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful hymn with us, what a heartfelt prayer to be a bearer of God's goodness even while your own spirit feels so heavy. We hear the ache behind these words, and we're sitting with you in it.

When our brain health is suffering, it can be hard to remember that our feelings are not the whole truth about who we are or where God is. Depression narrows our vision and whispers that we're alone, that things won't lift, that the goodness we long to offer is somehow beyond our reach. But your very desire, to be a vessel of Christ's mercy and healing, says something truer about you. That desire is evidence of His life in you, even now.

One thing that stands out to us: you've written a prayer about doing, bearing goodness, breaking chains, lifting the weak. That's noble. But we want to remind you that you are also allowed to simply receive. Right now, the most faithful thing might not be to strive toward being a blessing to everyone else, but to let others (and God) tend to you. Brain health struggles can sap our energy and focus, and it's no failure to rest, to let prayers be a single whispered word, to lean on a trusted friend or family member who can sit with you quietly.

If you haven't already, we'd gently encourage you to speak with a doctor or a wise counselor about what you're experiencing. Sometimes our brains need medical support to regain their footing, and seeking that help is not a lack of faith, it's good stewardship of the life God has given you. We are praying for wisdom and access to whatever care would be most helpful.

Father, we lift this one who aches to reflect Your goodness. Quiet the mental noise and the heaviness that clouds their mind. Let them know Your nearness as a steady warmth, not a demand. Anchor their thoughts in Your mercy, and grant them small, tangible experiences of light and rest. Surround them with people who see them and carry hope when they cannot. In Jesus' name.

The cry of your soul in these verses is not unheard, for it ascends to One who delights to make broken spirits whole. You plead to be made a bearer of His goodness, a vessel of healing hands and a voice of hope. This is a noble prayer, and it touches the very heart of the matter. Yet, when distress of mind and brain assails, we must first ask whether we have laid hold of that peace which is the fountainhead of all true service. For what goodness can flow from a soul that has not itself drunk deeply of the peace of God? The great secret lies in that text: “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You.” The margin reads “peace, peace,” a doubling of the blessing, a superlative calm. This is not a peace built upon the absence of trial, but a peace subsisting in the very presence of the thronging duties and the dark world of sin. It is a peace whispered within by the blood of Jesus, and it is the only sure foundation for a mind that would be sound and a life that would be a witness.

If you seek to be a healer, you must first be healed yourself, and there is but one Tree whose leaves are for the healing of the nations, even our Lord Jesus Christ and His salvation. The disease of a troubled mind, the disorder of a brain that cannot rest, often has its root in a deeper malady: the fatal failure to submit wholly to God. Consider that comprehensive command: “Submit yourselves therefore to God.” Has your intellect bowed before the plain teachings of your Lord, or do you revise His doctrines? Has your will yielded to His providential arrangements, or do you nurse a secret quarrel with God over the circumstances of your life? Men cry out for peace, but they clutch their sins, their self-righteousness, or their bitterness, and wonder why the peace does not come. Such peace is not the peace of God; it is at best the peace of the devil, a mere outward calm, a stupefying opiate that will prove ruinous. True peace comes when the carnal mind, which cannot perceive the things of God, is laid low at the foot of the Cross, and by the hearing of faith, the soul receives the Holy Spirit. Did you receive the peace that passes all understanding while trusting in your own works, your own prayers, or your own strivings? Never an atom of peace came to your spirit until you looked away from yourself to the Lord Jesus, able to save the chief of sinners.

The prayer to be a living witness, to have goodness bloom where you have trod, is a prayer that springs from a renewed nature. But see the order of the promise: “I will have mercy upon them; and they shall be as though I had not cast them off.” First, He makes a clean sweep of all your sins in virtue of the sacrifice of Christ. He blots out the record of your transgressions, and then He restores your soul. The forgiveness of sin and the healing of the mind are one blessing, as when the Saviour said, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.” As you eat the leaves of the Tree of Life by faith, you are healed of that which ails you. The peace you long to bear to others must first keep your own heart and mind. It is the ointment poured on the head of our great High Priest that trickles down to the very skirts of His garments, giving peace by the fruit of the lips and the heart. The God of peace, who brought again from the dead the Lord Jesus through the blood of the everlasting covenant, is the restorer and the preserver of peace. Seek no other physician, and look to no other remedy. Stay your mind on Him in simple, constant trust. Cease from the measuring of His infinite love with the thimbles of your carnal reason, and believe that His mercy can bring you into a Paradise of perfect rest even here below. There is glory begun below for the men of grace, celestial fruits on earthly ground, this is the health of the mind, the soundness of the brain which He gives to those who trust in Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The desire of your heart, poured out in this prayer, is itself a lamp already lit by the mercy of God. You ask to be made a bearer of His goodness, and in that very asking, you have begun to bear it. For what is the character of a Christian? Nothing so much as mercy, a merciful soul. And here you are, seeking to turn every thought to truth and grace, to let mercy shine upon your face, even while your own mind feels the weight of affliction. Do not despise this trial, for the flame of love burns brightest in the vessel that knows its own weakness.

When the body or the brain falters, it is easy to believe the darkness will overcome the light. But hear what is written: “Then shall thy light break forth as the morning,” if you show pity upon your neighbor. The oil of mercy contains a marvelous light, and it quenches the fire of despair. You are not called to be perfectly healthy before you can love; you are called to love from the place where you stand, and that love will bring healing beyond what the world can give. Is it not a greater wonder that a person, feeling their own mind besieged, still cries out to be a voice of hope and peace? That is the evidence of grace exceedingly abundant, beyond mere mercy, a gift of affection and excessive love.

What is mercy? It is the character of God, who formed the world out of sheer goodness, who took on flesh for love of man, that He might have mercy upon us. If you long to walk in His ways, you are already following the High Priest who is merciful and faithful. Your prayer to be a bearer of goodness is answered not always by the immediate lifting of the affliction, but by the strength given to bear it, and by the light that shines through the cracks. When you ask, “Lord, make my hands Your healing hands,” remember that the greatest healing often comes through a compassionate word, a patient endurance, a forgiveness offered when it is hard. Forgiving others their debts, as you yourself need forgiveness, is a healing act that touches the soul first. You seek brain health; but do not forget that a mind stayed on mercy is already walking in the light of the kingdom.

The enemy whispers that you are too weak to be of use. But look at the Apostle: he obtained mercy, and therefore he did not faint, even in labors and dangers. That mercy was not merely escaping punishment, but being made righteous, a son, an heir. And what did he contribute? Only “faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.” So with you. Your part is to keep believing, to keep loving, to keep crying out like the blind men, “Have mercy on us!” And as you do, goodness will bloom where you have trod, even if the path feels dark. The flame of charity does not need a perfect mind to burn; it needs a willing heart. You have that. Therefore, do not faint. The God of all mercy will use the very struggle of your brain to teach you a love that is not reliant on feeling or strength, but rooted in Him who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Walk in that love, and you are already a living witness, your life a humble, faithful prayer.

Your prayer touched me deeply, both the cry for help with your brain health and the beautiful hymn you wrote, longing to be a bearer of God's goodness. Your words reveal a heart already turned toward the One who made you, and that is no small thing.

Consider the wonder of the brain you are asking God to sustain. Every sound you hear, your mind translates vibrations into meaning. Every face you see, your brain instantly catalogues. Your thoughts race across neurons, and the Lord knows them all before you even speak. You were made in His image, a being with the capacity to choose, to determine the direction of your mind. That is a holy and sobering gift.

What we do with that gift matters immensely. The peace of your soul and the health of your body are profoundly connected. A merry heart truly works like a medicine; attitudes can shift the very chemistry within you, either releasing healing or doing harm. That is not just a proverb, it is how God designed you. When Paul urged us to let the mind of Christ be in us, he was not asking us to manufacture something false. He was inviting us to yield our thought patterns to the One who humbled Himself, who did not grasp at status but emptied Himself in love. As you fix your thoughts there, you starve the roots of anxiety and self-torment that can sicken the body.

I hear in your hymn a genuine desire to have every thought filled with truth and grace. That is exactly where brain health begins. It does not begin with frantic effort or with chasing after every sensational promise. It begins as you let the Word of God be sown into your heart, day by day, often without you even noticing the growth. Sunday after Sunday, moment by quiet moment, the imperceptible work of the Spirit renews the mind. Over time, the bitter chain of hatred and fear you sang about loses its grip, not because you fought harder, but because the seed of the Word grew up and bore the fruit of peace.

As your soul prospers, as you learn to esteem others above yourself, as you choose forgiveness over getting even, as you stop letting strife and empty conceit poison your inner world, your physical being often follows in strength. I am not offering a magical formula. I am pointing to the same correlation Scripture does: the prosperity of the soul and the health of the body walk hand in hand.

Prayerfully present your brain, your thoughts, your body to God. He needs no special ears to hear you; He who formed the exquisite machinery of your hearing surely attends to your cry. If you would like, gather a trusted brother or sister who will anoint you with oil and pray in faith, not because anyone has healing hands, but because the act of obedient faith gives you a moment to release your trust entirely into the hands of Jesus. He is the Light of your soul. And where His light invades, your grateful heart will find rest for a weary mind.

Keep filling your mind with what is true, honorable, and pure. Let the Spirit direct every thought. And when hatred or fear whispers, break that chain once more by lifting your voice in the very kind of prayer you have already written. Jesus, your gentle King, will keep you faithful, yesterday, today, and forever the same.

We are deeply moved by your heartfelt prayer, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we want you to know that we have continued to lift you up before the Lord, praying in agreement with your beautiful words. Your desire to be a bearer of God’s goodness, to let mercy shine through your thoughts, words, and deeds, and to walk faithfully in His ways has been laid before our Heavenly Father with earnest hearts.

We have prayed specifically for your brain health, asking the Great Physician to bring clarity, healing, and restoration to every part of your mind. We believe that just as the psalmist declared, “You restore my soul” (Psalm 23:3), the Lord is able to renew your strength and bring peace to any area of struggle. We have asked Him to fill you with His truth and grace, that your life would be a living testimony of His love and power.

If you have seen His hand move in answer to this prayer—whether through improved health, renewed peace, or a fresh outpouring of His Spirit—we would be overjoyed to hear a praise report from you. Let us rejoice together in His faithfulness! If, however, you are still waiting and longing for His intervention, please do not hesitate to post this request again. We are committed to standing with you in prayer until you see His victory.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you continue to seek Him. May He deepen your trust in His timing and perfect will, and may you feel His presence surrounding you each step of the way. We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus. Amen.
