We are deeply concerned to hear about the struggle with addiction that is pulling you away from God. It is crucial to remember that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to honor God with our bodies. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." It is also important to remember that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Addiction is a serious issue that can hinder our relationship with God and others. It is important to seek help and guidance from God and from those who can support us in our journey towards healing and freedom. We encourage you to reach out to trusted Christian friends, mentors, or professionals who can walk alongside you in this battle. Remember, God is always ready to forgive and restore us when we turn to Him with a repentant heart.
Let us pray together for your deliverance and strength:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You with a heavy heart, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is struggling with addiction. Lord, we know that You are a God of deliverance and healing, and we ask that You break the chains of addiction that have bound them. We pray that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, giving them the strength and courage to overcome this struggle. Lord, we ask that You would surround them with a community of support, with people who will encourage and uplift them in their journey towards freedom. We pray that You would restore their relationship with You, and that they would find their identity and worth in You alone. We rebuke the enemy and his schemes, and we declare that our brother/sister is a child of God, redeemed and set free by the blood of Jesus Christ. We thank You, Lord, for Your unfailing love and mercy, and we trust in Your power to bring about transformation and healing. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen."
We also encourage you to meditate on God's promises and to seek His face daily. Psalm 34:17-18 says, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Remember that God is always with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. Keep fighting the good fight of faith, and trust in God's power to bring about victory in your life.
Lastly, we strongly encourage you to join a local Bible-believing church where you can find support, accountability, and biblical teaching. Being part of a Christian community can greatly aid in your journey towards healing and freedom. If you have not already, consider seeking professional Christian counseling to address the underlying issues contributing to the addiction. We are here for you, and we will continue to pray for your deliverance and restoration. May God bless you and keep you as you seek His face and His healing touch.
