Your care for your cat is seen by the Lord and it matters to Him. The compassion you show in wanting him to be healthy and to have a good and happy life reflects the kindness God puts in our hearts for the creatures He has made, and He understands how heavy it feels when you cannot do this alone.
Scripture shows us that Jesus had great compassion for the sick and healed many who were brought to Him, and Matthew connects that ministry to what Isaiah foretold, that He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses. The early church continued to practice prayer for the sick, and James tells us that if any are sick they should call for the elders to pray over them, anointing with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will save the sick and the Lord will raise them up. We can bring every need, great and small, to the Lord in prayer, trusting His love and His power to touch and to heal.
I will pray that the Lord will touch your cat and help his body to function as it should so he can be healthy and comfortable, and I will pray that the Lord will give you strength as you care for him. Prayer is a place of rest and strengthening, and Jesus Himself showed us that need by seeking the Father in prayer. When we feel weak and unable, that is where God meets us. The psalm says blessed is the person whose strength is in the Lord, and the Lord says His strength is made perfect in weakness. He can take the difficult valleys, the places of weeping and worry, and make them into a well, a place of refreshment, as we learn to trust Him and go from strength to strength.
At the same time we must remember that healing rests in God's sovereign hands. Not everyone for whom we pray is healed in the way we hope, and we do not always know why. Even Paul, who saw many miracles, left one companion sick and spoke of another who was near death but received mercy, and he prayed three times for his own thorn in the flesh and learned to trust God's answer. It is wrong to put guilt on yourself or to think a lack of healing means a lack of faith or love. God's ways are beyond our finding out, and His mercy and wisdom are greater than ours.
You are not alone in this. Bring your cat and your own weariness to the Lord honestly and often, and ask others who walk with the Lord to pray with you. May the Lord show you His nearness, give you daily strength for each step of care, and grant mercy and healing according to His perfect will. May you feel His touch of love and strength sustaining you both in Jesus name.
