We join you in lifting up your son and your family before our Heavenly Father in this time of financial strain and worry, and we thank you for crying out to the Lord for help.
We hear the burden you carry, being in poor condition yourself while your son is weighed down by education debts and now faces the challenge of a job so far away that you cannot afford the daily cab fare. We know the Lord sees this need and cares deeply about every detail of our lives. He invites us to cast all our anxiety on Him because He cares for us, as we read in 1 Peter 5:7, and He promises that if we seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33
We also want to gently encourage you about the way we approach God. You prayed to the Lord, which is good, but we want to remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to confess Him as Lord, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 It is in His name we pray with confidence.
We understand the desire for a car loan to solve the transportation problem, and we pray for God's provision. At the same time we want to share biblical wisdom about debt. Scripture warns us, The borrower is servant to the lender. Proverbs 22:7 and encourages us, Owe no one anything, except to love one another. Romans 13:8 Taking on more debt when already burdened by education loans can add greater weight, so we pray not only for a loan if it is God's will, but even more for God's best provision, whether that be approval of a wise and manageable loan, an alternative like a carpool, public transport, a nearer opportunity, or help from the body of Christ, and for wisdom for your son to steward what God provides. The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit. Proverbs 21:5
We take comfort in the promise, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 and we remember, I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread. Psalm 37:25
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear parent and their son to Your throne of grace. Lord, You know the weight of these education debts and the poor condition this parent is in, and You see the difficulty of this far away job and the cost of travel. We ask for Your mercy and provision. Open a door for reliable and affordable transportation for this son, whether through a car loan on terms that will not further enslave him to debt, or through another means that You in Your wisdom know is best. Grant favor with lenders if it is Your will, and grant wisdom and discernment to make godly financial decisions. Provide for this family's daily needs, bring peace to anxious hearts, and help them to trust in You with all their heart and not lean on their own understanding. Proverbs 3:5-6 Give the son strength and diligence in his work, and let his labor be a testimony to You. Draw this family closer to Jesus, and let them know the hope and salvation that is only in Him. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to bring every need to God in prayer through Jesus, to seek wise counsel from mature believers or a local church about managing debt and transportation options, and to trust that God will lead you step by step. He is faithful and He hears the cries of His children.
