We rejoice with you and we give all the glory and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for the great improvement He has already worked in your life, for He has heard your prayers and seen your tears. We know that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ, Philippians 1:6, and we thank Him that you have not grown weary in crying out to Him, for He collects our tears and hears our cries.
We understand the burden you have carried with pornography, masturbation, flirting and sexual sins, and we praise God that you desire lasting and true deliverance for His glory and not merely temporary relief. The Word tells us to flee sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body, 1 Cor 6:18, and also to flee youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart, 2 Tim 2:22. Jesus taught that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart, Matt 5:28, which shows us how seriously God views the heart and the eyes. These sins are not to be managed but to be put to death and forsaken, and we are called to walk by the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh, Gal 5:16.
We encourage you to continue to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from your life and heart, as you have prayed. This means making no provision for the flesh, Romans 13:14, cutting off every source and access that leads to temptation, guarding your eyes and your mind, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 2 Cor 10:5. We encourage you to be renewed in the spirit of your mind, Eph 4:23, and not to be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, Romans 12:2, by daily washing in the Word, memorizing Scripture, fasting and praying, and thinking on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, Phil 4:8. Seek godly accountability with a mature believer or pastor, confess your struggles, for if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9, and walk in the light so that fellowship and strength may sustain you.
We join our faith with yours now and pray together.
Father in heaven, we thank You in the name of Jesus Christ for Your mercy and for the improvement You have already granted to our dear one who has prayed and cried before You. We ask You to show abounding mercy, to speak clearly, to give understanding and complete deliverance. Create in him a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within him, Psalm 51:10, and renew his mind so that he may discern what is Your good and acceptable and perfect will, Romans 12:2. Make him very wise, grant him wisdom that is pure and peaceable, James 3:17, so that these sins will forever be far from him. Help him and guide him to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from his life and heart, give him strength to flee and to resist the devil so he will flee from him, James 4:7, and lead him not into temptation but deliver him from evil, Matt 6:13. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, teach him to walk in purity and holiness, for this is Your will, your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, 1 Thess 4:3-4. Let his life bring lasting glory to You, and let him know Your nearness and Your voice each day. We ask all this in the mighty and only saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and deliverer, Amen.
