Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you and give all the glory and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for the great improvement He has already worked in your life, for it is God who works in us both to will and to work for His good pleasure, Philippians 2:13. We have heard your crying and your prayers and we join with you now seeking His will together in Jesus name, thanking Him for His mercy and asking Him for lasting and true deliverance for His glory.

We want to speak plainly and lovingly about these sins because God calls us to holiness. Pornography, masturbation rooted in lust, flirting with the opposite sex outside of godly courtship, and all sexual sin are not small struggles, they are sexual immorality that defiles the heart and the body. Jesus said that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart, Matthew 5:28. We are commanded to flee sexual immorality, 1 Corinthians 6:18, and that every sexual sin that a person does is against his own body, which is a temple of the Holy Spirit, 1 Corinthians 6:19,20. Flirting that stirs desire without the commitment of marriage does not honor God, for we are called to pursue purity and to treat one another with all purity, 1 Timothy 5:2, and to let marriage be held in honor among all, Hebrews 13:4. God designed sexual intimacy for lifelong marriage between a man and a woman, and any use of it outside that covenant is fornication or adultery that we must turn from. We also affirm that you have come in the right way, through the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12, and it is only through Him we have access to the Father, John 14:6.

We encourage you that lasting freedom does not come by willpower alone but by renewing the mind and walking by the Spirit. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, Romans 12:2. We walk by the Spirit and we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh, Galatians 5:16. This means making no provision for the flesh, Romans 13:14, and taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:5. We have found it vital to cut off every source and way of escape for temptation, to make a covenant with our eyes as Job did, Job 31:1, to guard our hearts and to fill our minds with what is true, honorable, just, pure and lovely, Philippians 4:8. We hide His word in our hearts that we might not sin against Him, Psalm 119:11, and we ask how a young man can keep his way pure, by living according to His word, Psalm 119:9. We also encourage you to walk in the light with trusted, mature believers who can keep you accountable, for we confess our sins to one another and pray for one another that we may be healed, James 5:16, and we submit to God and resist the devil and he will flee from us, James 4:7. If you are not pursuing courtship with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer, we encourage you to step back from flirting and to pursue contentment and singleness with purpose until God leads you to a godly spouse in His timing.

We pray together for you now.

Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ and we thank You for the work You have already begun in our brother, for Your mercy that has heard his many prayers and tears. We ask that You complete the good work You began until the day of Jesus Christ, Philippians 1:6. Lord, create in him a clean heart and renew a right spirit within him, Psalm 51:10, and transform him by the renewing of his mind so that these sins will be forever far from him. Grant him wisdom from above, make him very wise to discern every trap and to hate what is evil and cling to what is good, Romans 12:9. Show him Your mercy, speak to him, give him understanding and full deliverance, and guide him to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from his life and heart, whether it is cutting off access, fasting, praying, memorizing Scripture, or seeking accountability. Help him to flee when temptation comes, for You have promised that no temptation has taken us except what is common to man and You will with the temptation also make the way of escape, 1 Corinthians 10:13. Wash him and keep him in Your forgiveness as he confesses, for You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9. Keep him in Your perfect peace and let him walk in purity, for Your will is our sanctification, that we abstain from sexual immorality and possess our own vessel in sanctification and honor, 1 Thessalonians 4:3,4. We ask all of this for Your glory, in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We were grateful to hear from you and to hear how God has already been at work. Thank you for sharing so honestly about the tears and prayers behind this, and for giving glory to Jesus for the improvement you have seen. We rejoice with you in that progress and we hear your longing for something deeper and lasting, not just behavior change but a renewed heart and mind.

That longing itself is a good sign of God working in you. Lasting freedom usually grows not from trying harder alone, but from walking daily in surrender and putting wise supports in place. You mentioned wanting wisdom and deliverance, and we pray God continues to form that in you step by step as you stay close to Christ.

One practical help many have found is not walking alone. If you do not already have this, prayerfully consider asking one trusted, mature pastor or mentor to meet with you regularly for honest accountability and spiritual direction, someone who can encourage you, pray with you, and help you notice patterns early. If shame or old hurts feel tangled in this struggle, a biblically grounded counselor can also walk with you alongside pastoral care.

Father, we thank You for the work You have begun in our brother and for his tender desire to honor You. Have mercy and draw near, renew his mind, grant wisdom and strength to turn from what entangles, and lead him in Your way day by day. Keep him close to Jesus and fill his heart with hope. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We give thanks with you to the Lord Jesus Christ for the mercy already shown to you, and we rejoice to hear that there has been great improvement. To Him be all the glory, for it is He who brings His people forth, and His deliverance is effectual. When the heart cries out under the burden of sin, it is of small use to look to man, for only God can deliver the soul, yet He has found a ransom, even the substitutionary sacrifice of His own Son, and in that ransom there is hope for the vilest sinner who feels himself going down to the pit.

Your prayer for lasting and true deliverance is good and right before God. Purity and charity are the two great garments of Christianity, and we are called to keep ourselves unspotted from the world. Any sin, whatever it is, if we cling to it and love it, will bring forth death, for when lust has conceived it brings forth sin, and sin when it is finished brings forth death. Therefore we must not make peace with these sins, but flee from them, and pray that the Lord will keep us unspotted in heart and life.

We join you in praying that God will help you and guide you to do whatever it takes to put these sins away forever from your life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. We pray that He will renew your mind and make you very wise in the ways of holiness, that these sins will be far from you. Such renewal is a stern work, and it is called in Scripture conversion, and it requires the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead. No created thing is self existent, all need renewal, and how much more does the soul need the continual renewing of the Holy Spirit if we would persevere.

Deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. Where we look for justification, there must we also look for sanctification, for as we are justified through Jesus Christ, we must also expect to receive sanctification from a heavenly source. He who has begun a good work will perfect it, and the clock of mercy strikes in heaven the hour of deliverance according to His eternal purpose.

Take then this counsel for your walk. Keep close to the Word of God, for when Divine Grace declines, fancy rules the mind and love of ease controls the body. Guard your eyes and your heart, flee from every occasion to flirting and impurity, remembering that sex and all its joys belong only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Seek the fellowship of faithful believers who will watch with you and pray with you, and come often to the Lord in confession and faith, for the blood of Christ still cleanses, and His grace still keeps.

We pray that God will show you mercy, speak to you, give you understanding and full deliverance, and that you will live to declare the works of the Lord. The believer after affliction and after deliverance says, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. If we have had deep troubles, we shall have more to declare of His goodness. May the Lord chasten you in love, and then raise you up to walk in newness of life, to the praise of His free grace, in whom alone is salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We will continue to pray with you that the Lord will make this improvement lasting and true, for His own glory.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We thank God with you for the improvement He has already worked in your life and we give all glory to the Lord Jesus Christ for it. It is a good and right thing that you desire to be fully cleansed and to have these sins removed forever from your heart and life, and we rejoice that you have brought this honestly before God with prayer and tears.

We join you in prayer that God will continue His mercy and deliverance in you. We pray that He will renew your mind and make you wise in Christ, so that you may walk in lasting purity and true holiness for the glory of God. We pray that He will speak to you through His Word, give you understanding, strengthen you to do whatever it takes to put these sins far from you, and keep you in His grace through Jesus Christ alone.

Scripture calls us to flee sexual immorality and to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. God created sex to belong only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and outside of that it leads away from Him. To turn from it is not only to say no to sin but to say yes to Christ and to the purity He gives.

Continue in the path you have begun, step by step. Learn virtue in order, as you would learn letters, first guarding your eyes and your tongue, then your thoughts and desires, and then growing in temperance, self control and a gentle and contrite heart. Guard against what feeds lust, including pornography, flirting and also filthy talk and crude joking which become a vehicle for it. Fill your mind instead with Scripture, prayer, and fellowship with faithful believers who can encourage you and hold you accountable. When you fall, do not remain in discouragement, but quickly confess, receive His forgiveness, and return to Him in humility, for God looks to the one who is meek and trembles at His Word.

The Lord who cleansed and changed those who once walked in sexual sin and brought them into His kingdom is able to purify you and make you an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. He hears those who cry to Him and He is faithful to complete the work He has begun.

We are praying for you, that God will grant you wisdom, strength to resist temptation, a renewed mind, and a heart that finds its joy in Christ so that these sins will be put far from you and you will walk in freedom and peace before Him.

Your honesty and your tears before the Lord are precious, and it is right to give all glory and thanks to Jesus Christ for the improvement you have seen. He is the one who begins a good work and He is able to carry it through to lasting freedom. At the same time your longing for a deeper, true and enduring change is also from Him, and He hears that cry for mercy, understanding and deliverance.

Much of our struggle comes from within. Scripture says that quarrels and conflicts come from the cravings that war inside us. We want, we crave, we chase what the flesh demands, and that inner lust drives us. That is why prayer is not a way to get our own will done on earth, or to ask God to bless what the flesh wants. Often our motives are selfish even when we do not see it clearly. God searches the heart, and He wants to purify our asking so that we seek His will and His glory, not just relief or a way to satisfy ourselves and still hold on to sin.

The battle is largely for your mind. That is where the spiritual war is fought. The enemy whispers that God does not see, that you are getting away with something in secret, and he uses that deception to keep you bound. What is planted in the mind does not leave quickly. It stays and it grows. This is why you are called to guard your heart with all diligence, to put corrupt and perverse things far from you, and to turn your eyes away from beauty that is being used to stir lust. There is no love in that kind of desire. It is empty and it embraces anyone.

You have already learned how this works. When the door is opened even a little, these things take hold. Lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and pride of life belong to this world, not to God, and friendship with the world puts us at odds with God. The flesh is never satisfied. Feeding it only makes it demand more. What begins as a small sample or a curious glance can become a strong chain, and it takes more and more to get the same effect while leaving the heart emptier than before. That is the deceit of sowing to the flesh. Whatever a person sows, that he will also reap. If we sow to the flesh we reap corruption. We cannot mock God in this. But if we sow to the Spirit we reap life and peace.

That is why lasting change requires a renewing of the mind. You cannot simply try harder in your own strength. You need the mind of Christ, which comes through His Word and His Spirit. Acknowledge your weakness and your need. God has not left you to fight alone. He promises deliverance, His presence in trouble, and strength as you walk in close fellowship with Him.

So continue to seek Him with the same earnestness, but ask Him to align your prayers with His purpose. Ask Him to show you what must be removed completely, not just managed. That means making a clean break with every source of temptation, every image, every conversation, every flirtation that feeds the old nature. Do not keep a small access open and hope you will resist. Put it far away. Then deliberately fill your mind with what feeds the Spirit. Read Scripture daily, listen to faithful teaching, memorize verses that speak to purity and to who you are in Christ, and bring every thought captive to Him. What you feed will grow.

God created sex as a good gift to be enjoyed only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Outside of that, sexual sin, whether in thought, image, touch, or flirtation, always wounds the heart and dishonors Him. Bring that standard before the Lord and ask Him to make you wise to see temptation early and to flee from it, as Scripture commands, rather than to debate with it.

You are not alone in this and you are not without hope. The same Lord who has already brought improvement can make you steadfast and unmovable, growing day by day in His grace, love and truth.

Let us pray together. Father, thank You for the work You have already done in this heart and for the tears that have been poured out before You. Have mercy and grant true deliverance in the name of Jesus Christ. Forgive, cleanse, and renew the mind. Give wisdom to recognize every snare and courage to put it far away. Guard the heart with diligence and fill it with Your Word, so that what is sown is of the Spirit and reaps life and peace. Teach this dear one to pray according to Your will and to walk in the light, knowing You see and You care. Strengthen each step toward lasting purity for Your glory alone. Amen.
