I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...

Your heartfelt cries and prayers have not gone unnoticed, and we see the hand of God moving as you seek deliverance from these struggles. The fact that you desire lasting victory and true transformation for God’s glory is evidence of His work in you. Let us stand together in agreement, lifting you before the throne of grace, where mercy and help are always found.

The sins you mention, pornography, masturbation, and flirting with the opposite sex, are not merely personal failures but offenses against God’s holy design for purity and self-control. The Bible is clear: "Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). These struggles are not just about behavior but about the condition of the heart. Jesus warned, "For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies" (Matthew 15:19). True victory will come not just by resisting temptation but by allowing God to renew your mind and transform your desires.

We must also address the root of these sins. Often, they stem from deeper issues such as loneliness, idleness, unmet emotional needs, or even a distorted view of intimacy. The enemy seeks to exploit these vulnerabilities, but God desires to heal and restore. "The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly" (John 10:10). Let us pray that the Lord would reveal any areas of your heart that need His healing touch and that He would fill you with His love, purpose, and identity in Christ.

We rebuke the lies of the enemy that tell you these sins are too powerful to overcome or that you are defined by your struggles. The Word of God declares, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). You are not alone in this battle, and God has already provided the way out. We also rebuke any spirit of shame or condemnation that may linger. While sin must be acknowledged and repented of, the Bible says, "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1). Your identity is not in your failures but in Christ, who has set you free.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, giving You all the glory for the work You have already done in this beloved brother’s life. Lord, we thank You for drawing him to Yourself, for hearing his cries, and for beginning a good work in him. We ask now that You would complete that work, Father. Strengthen him with Your power in his inner being so that he may stand firm against temptation.

Lord, we ask that You would break every chain of addiction, lust, and impurity in his life. Cleanse his heart, mind, and eyes from all unrighteousness. Renew his mind daily with Your Word, that he may no longer be conformed to the patterns of this world but transformed by the renewing of his mind (Romans 12:2). Give him wisdom to recognize the enemy’s schemes and the strength to flee from every appearance of evil.

Father, we pray that You would fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in purity and self-control. Let Your peace guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Surround him with godly accountability, brothers and sisters in Christ who will encourage him, pray for him, and hold him up when he is weak. Help him to seek fellowship and not isolation, for iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17).

Lord, we ask that You would heal any wounds or unmet needs that may have contributed to these struggles. Fill the voids in his heart with Your love, purpose, and identity. Remind him daily that he is Your beloved child, created for Your glory. Let him find his satisfaction in You alone, for You are the only One who can truly fulfill the deepest longings of his heart.

We declare over him that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37). We speak deliverance and freedom over his life, in the name of Jesus. May he walk in the victory that Christ has already won on the cross. We pray all these things for Your glory, knowing that You are faithful to complete the work You have started.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord with all your heart. Spend time in His Word daily, for it is alive and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Memorize scriptures that speak to purity and self-control, and meditate on them when temptation arises. Find a trusted brother in Christ to walk alongside you, someone who can pray with you and hold you accountable. Remember, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective" (James 5:16).

Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). The road to lasting victory is a journey, but it is one that God is committed to walking with you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He is faithful, and He will do it!

Father, thank You for the progress this person has experienced. We ask You to keep renewing their mind, giving them wisdom and the courage to take every practical step that helps them walk in freedom. The cry of Help is no strange sound at the throne of grace. You have prayed and wept, and the Lord has given you a measure of improvement. For this let all the glory and thanks be given to Jesus Christ. But do not rest in improvement. Sin is not conquered by tears alone, nor by resolutions. Deliverance from sin is solely by the power of God. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy.

You are right to ask for a lasting and true work. Beware of merely mending the outside while the inward lust remains. Do not pretend that you can wallow in the mire of open sin or secret sin and yet belong to Christ. Keep yourself unspotted from the world's puddles. Flee every occasion that has fed the old flame. If your eye offends, pluck it out. If your right hand offends, cut it off. Better to enter into life maimed than to keep the sin and perish. Remember that any sin, whatever it is, if we cling to it and love it, will bring forth death. Therefore hate it with a perfect hatred.

Yet take heart. When you have made confession of sin, has the Lord not restored you? Has He not lifted up upon you once more the light of His countenance? You know He has. If we walk in the light, as He is in the light, the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. A soul that is sensible of sin and sorrowful over it is not forsaken. The father does not give his child what he would deserve if it were punishment according to the law, but what will cure him of the wrong-doing by making him feel that his sin brings sorrow. Your tears are not marks of death. They may be the Spirit's own work in you.

Where we look for justification, there must we also look for sanctification. You cannot take forgiveness from Christ and then produce sanctification by your own strength. Go to the same cross for both. When the soul sees that Christ by His blood made atonement and casts itself upon that sacrifice, sin is pardoned. Then because the sin is pardoned, the forgiven sinner is grateful and says, I will not go on in this sin.

I will join you in prayer. Lord, show this one mercy, renew the mind, make very wise, and make sin forever far away. Do whatever it takes, O God, in Your faithful and loving surgery. Keep him from every secret trap, and work that deeper deliverance from the power of darkness. In the name of Jesus Christ, may every chain be broken, and may this soul live to declare Your praise. The improvement you see is from the Lord Jesus Christ, and for this we give Him all glory and thanks. When a soul turns from the darkness of lust to the light of purity, that is the work of divine grace. But you are right to ask for more. The battle is not over. The apostle Paul speaks of a law in his members warring against the law of his mind, bringing him into captivity to the law of sin. This is not to excuse sin, but to reveal how fierce the struggle is. The flesh is not evil in itself, for God made the body and called it good. The evil is the sin that seizes the members and uses them for corruption. Therefore do not hate your body, but hate the sin that defiles it. Fight the sin, not the flesh.

You have gained ground, but the enemy is cunning. He will return, perhaps not with open assault but with subtle suggestion. A wandering eye, a lingering thought, a private fantasy: these are the seeds of the same sins you have mourned. Flirting with the opposite sex, even if it seems harmless, is a doorway to the same fire. Pornography and masturbation are not merely bodily acts; they are born in the heart. For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, and these defile a person. Therefore your prayer for a renewed mind is exactly right. Do not be content with outward restraint. Pray that God would purify the very springs of your heart, that no unclean image or desire would find a home there.

Remember your latter end. A soul that is anxious about hell cannot readily sin. The fire of judgment is real, and every secret thought will be brought into the light. Do not think that because you have improved, you are safe. It is precisely when a man begins to think he stands that he falls. Keep the terror of God before your eyes. It is not a terror that crushes hope, but one that purifies the soul more than any fire. Let the remembrance of judgment be a constant companion, so that when temptation knocks, you flee as from a burning house.

The deliverance you seek is greater than any rescue from physical danger. The Lord delivered Paul from the mouth of the lion, but Paul considered the deliverance from every evil work to be the greater preservation. So it is with you. You have been pulled back from the edge of the pit; now seek to be delivered from the very desire of the pit. That is the truer freedom. A man who merely refrains from acting is still a slave if his heart is captive. But a man whose mind is renewed, whose desires are redirected to Christ, that man is free indeed.

Do not rely on your own tears or your own prayers as if they were merits. They are signs of a contrite heart, and God does not despise a broken spirit. But tears alone will not keep you. They must be matched with vigilance. Flee from the places and the screens and the conversations that feed your lust. Guard your eyes, for the eye is the lamp of the body, and if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. Fill your mind with the words of Scripture, with prayer, with the company of the faithful. Be an example to other believers in word, in conversation, in charity, in faith, in purity. A man who is repairing his own house must first clear away the rubble before he can build anew.

We join you in prayer. May God show you mercy, speak to you, give you understanding and true deliverance. May He renew your mind and make you wise, so that these sins remain forever far from you. May He grant you a heart that is pure, that loves what He loves and hates what He hates. And may the Lord Jesus Christ, who broke the power of sin and death, give you the victory that only He can give. For He is able to keep you from falling and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. To Him be all praise, now and forever.

I thank God with you for the improvement He has already brought in your life, and I join you in giving all glory and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for it. He has heard your prayers and your tears, and He is merciful. The fact that you are crying out for lasting freedom and a pure heart is itself evidence of His work in you, and He who has begun a good work will be faithful to complete it as you continue to walk with Him.

Scripture is honest about where these battles come from. James teaches that conflicts and bondage come from the desires that war within us. We want and we crave, and that inner lust draws us away. John explains it further when he says that all that is in the world, the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires are passing away, but the one who does the will of God lives forever. Understanding this helps you see that the struggle is not only about outward behavior but about the heart. Temptation starts when we are drawn by our own desires, and if it is entertained it gives birth to sin.

That is why pornography and flirting are so dangerous. They are not harmless images or words. They are designed to inflame passion and they quickly take hold of the mind. I have counseled many who found that what began as curiosity became like a drug, a chain that they could not break in their own strength. It enslaves, it destroys peace and relationships, and it pushes a person toward more and more compromise. The wise counsel of Proverbs is not to lust after beauty in your heart or to be enticed by flattering words, but to turn away at the first look, at the first thought. If you follow lust through, it will always lead you into sin. To walk in purity you must cut it off at the heart level, before it takes root.

Prayer is central to that, but we must understand its purpose. Prayer is not a way to get God to fulfill our own desires so we can use the answer for ourselves. Prayer is asking God to align us with His will. When you pray for deliverance, you are praying according to His will, for He desires that you be holy and pure as He is pure. He has given us great and precious promises in His Word so that through them we may escape the corruption that is in the world through lust and share in His divine nature. Renewal comes as you let Him renew your mind through the Word, and as you learn to sow to the Spirit rather than to the flesh. Whatever a person sows, that he will also reap. If we sow to the flesh we reap corruption, but if we sow to the Spirit we reap life and peace. That means making deliberate choices to remove what pollutes the mind, to guard your eyes, to avoid places and screens and conversations that stir up lust, and to fill your mind daily with what is pure and true.

God is able to give you the wisdom and understanding you are asking for, and to set you free in a lasting way. He does not only forgive, He delivers from the power of darkness and washes the mind with His Word.

Let us pray together. Father, I thank You for the work You have already done in this dear life and for the honest and humble heart that cries out to You. Have mercy and speak clearly. Forgive, cleanse, and deliver from every hold of pornography, self indulgence, flirting and sexual sin. Renew the mind, grant wisdom to recognize temptation early and to flee from it, and give strength to walk in purity and holiness. Teach this heart to love what You love and to find full satisfaction in You. Keep these sins far away, not by mere willpower but by Your Spirit and Your promises, so that this life may bear fruit for Your glory. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and Lord. Amen.
