Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the progress you have made by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ! Your heartfelt cries and prayers have not gone unnoticed, and we see the hand of God already at work in your life. The battle against sexual sin, pornography, masturbation, and flirting outside of godly boundaries, is fierce, but the victory is already won through Christ. We stand with you in prayer and encouragement, knowing that the Lord is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).

First, we must address these sins with the seriousness they deserve. The Bible is clear that sexual immorality defiles the body, which is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Flirting with the opposite sex outside of a godly courtship leading to marriage can easily become a stumbling block, leading to temptation and sin. We must guard our hearts diligently, for out of it flow the springs of life (Proverbs 4:23). The Lord calls us to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18) and to pursue holiness, for without it, no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14).

We also recognize that these struggles often stem from deeper issues, loneliness, idleness, unmet desires, or even wounds from the past. The enemy seeks to exploit these vulnerabilities, but God desires to heal and restore you completely. We pray that the Lord will reveal the root causes of these temptations and grant you the strength to uproot them. Renew your mind daily through the Word of God (Romans 12:2), for it is the sword of the Spirit that cuts through deception and sin (Ephesians 6:17).

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the work You have already done in this dear one’s life, and we ask that You would complete it for Your glory. Lord, we confess that sexual sin is a grievous offense against You, and we repent on behalf of this one who desires to walk in purity. Cleanse their heart, mind, and body by the blood of Jesus, and create in them a clean heart, O God, renewing a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:10).

Father, we ask that You would break every chain of addiction, every stronghold of lust, and every lie of the enemy that says this sin cannot be overcome. Your Word declares that sin shall not have dominion over us, for we are not under law but under grace (Romans 6:14). We claim this promise in Jesus’ name! Fill this one with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in the Spirit and not fulfill the lusts of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).

Lord, we pray for wisdom and discernment. Show them how to guard their heart, their eyes, and their mind. Give them the strength to flee temptation and the courage to stand firm in their faith. Surround them with godly accountability, and lead them to a community of believers who will encourage them in their walk with You. Renew their mind through Your Word, that they may be transformed and no longer conformed to the patterns of this world (Romans 12:2).

Father, we also ask that You would heal any wounds or emptiness that may have contributed to these struggles. Fill them with Your love, peace, and joy, that they may find their satisfaction in You alone. Teach them to delight themselves in You, and You will give them the desires of their heart (Psalm 37:4). May they find their ultimate fulfillment in a relationship with You, and if it be Your will, prepare them for a godly spouse who will honor You and walk in purity alongside them.

Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against this one shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We rebuke every spirit of lust, addiction, and deception in the name of Jesus Christ, and we command them to flee! We pray that this one would walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for them, and that they would live as a testimony of Your grace and power.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your faithfulness, knowing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). May this one’s life bring glory and honor to Your name, now and forevermore. In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord with all your heart. Spend time in His Word daily, for it is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Memorize Scripture that speaks to your struggle, such as 1 Corinthians 10:13: "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." Surround yourself with godly friends who will hold you accountable and pray for you. Consider finding a trusted mentor or counselor who can walk with you through this journey.

Remember, the Lord is not looking for perfection but for a heart that is fully surrendered to Him. He is your strength in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9), and His grace is sufficient for you. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). The battle is the Lord’s, and He has already won the victory through the cross. Stand firm in your faith, and watch as He transforms you from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18).

You’ve poured out your heart before the Lord, and He has not ignored a single tear or whispered plea. We’re grateful with you for the real improvement you’ve seen, that is evidence of His mercy at work. It’s clear you’re not treating this lightly, and that sincerity matters. Lasting freedom from patterns like pornography, masturbation, and flirting is often less a single moment of breakthrough and more a daily returning to Christ, choosing, in small, unseen moments, to depend on Him instead of the false comfort of these habits. Please don’t lose heart because the struggle hasn’t vanished overnight; you’re in good company, and Jesus delights in your honesty.

One practical thing that can make a deep difference is bringing this fight into the light with a trusted, mature Christian friend or a small, confidential men’s (or women’s) group where you can be fully known and prayed for regularly. Isolation fuels these struggles, but accountability helps break the cycle. Many find that a Christ-centered support group or a wise pastor or counselor gives them the tools and encouragement to keep walking in freedom. God often uses other followers to strengthen us in the very places we feel weakest.

Father, thank you for the genuine progress this one has experienced. Please continue to renew their mind, grant them deep wisdom, and mercifully shield them from temptation. Surround them with safe people who will pray, encourage, and gently hold them accountable. Give them the courage to take whatever steps are needed, and let them rest in your patience and grace. Complete this good work, for your glory and their lasting joy, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

You cry out with tears for full and lasting deliverance, and with good cause, for these sins are not light trifles but the very chains of hell upon the soul. Give thanks with your whole heart for the victory already won, it is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes. Every step out of the mire is a mercy to be sung of in the courts of Zion. But you are right to seek for more, for it is a poor religion that is content with half a deliverance. When Israel came forth from Egypt, they were not left in the wilderness to wander with their taskmasters still lurking near; God brought them forth with silver and gold, and there was not one feeble person among their tribes. So will He do for you: He will perfect that which concerneth you.

Yet I would have you be on your guard, for Satan will surely aim his fiery darts at you in this very hour. When you have gained some ground, the Evil One will whisper that your God has forsaken you, that these old sins will return like a flood, that you are too weak to stand. Remember, that suggestion is the most venomous arrow in his quiver. Muzzle that dog of unbelief! Do not give a tongue to your doubts, but give a tongue to your faith. Say with the Psalmist, ā€œI shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.ā€ Christ has delivered you from the power of darkness; He will not leave you to be torn by the lion again.

Now, what are the wells from which you must draw the water of purity? First, there is the great deep that lieth under, Jesus Christ Himself. Get you often to that fountain. When the thirst of temptation rages, drink deep of His person, His wounds, His love. Then there is the golden book of His promises: search the Word till you find a promise suited to your case, and feed upon it as one that findeth great spoil. And do not think that prayer and tears alone will suffice while you neglect to keep out of the way of the fowler. Charity without purity is vain; orthodoxy without holiness is a tinkling cymbal. That means you must cut off the right hand, pluck out the right eye, do whatever it takes, as you have prayed, to keep yourself unspotted from the world. Flee flirting, flee the lust of the eye, flee the chamber of imagery where these idols are set up.

Cry mightily to God to renew your mind, for it is not enough to dam the stream, the fountain of thought must be made clean by the Holy Spirit. And He will do it. He has brought many a saint up from the very brink of the pit, and He will not abandon you now. Let your prayer be, ā€œBind me to Thine altar, Lord; hold me with cords of grace forever.ā€ And when He answers, be sure that your deliverance is attended with enrichment, you come forth with silver and gold, with wisdom and strength you had not before, so that you may declare His works to others who are still groaning in chains. You shall not die, but live; and your tongue shall yet sing aloud of His righteousness. Only believe, and go forward in His might.

The tears you have shed and the prayers you have lifted up are not ignored before the mercy seat of Christ. The improvement you see is already a testimony that the Lord receives your groaning, and we join our prayers with yours that He will complete this work. But lasting deliverance demands far more than weeping, it demands a transformation of the mind itself.

Consider the Apostle’s words: ā€œBe renewed in the spirit of your mind.ā€ The sins that once held you captive, lust, pornography, immoderate gazes, do not spring primarily from the flesh, but from a corrupted way of thinking. When the mind becomes darkened and refuses to retain God in its knowledge, He gives it over to a reprobate state, and from that poisoned fountain all wickedness floods outward. So your cry for a renewed mind is exactly the right petition. Yet how is this renewal to come? To be renewed is not to become another person, but for the same nature to be changed in its habits, just as a house long neglected may be restored by persistent labor. The old man must be stripped off, and the new man put on. And this stripping is painful; it is a deliberate, daily violence against ingrained desires.

Do not imagine that God will simply remove the temptation while you remain passive. He often permits the struggle to remain longer than we would wish, so that through it you may learn to despise sin itself, not merely to fear its consequences, but to hate it with a holy hatred. This is a greater gift than painless deliverance, for it arms your soul against future assaults and makes you a veteran rather than a timid child. Use, then, this present warfare to acquire that holy contempt.

Seek the Lord with the same concentrated effort you would spend searching for hidden gold. ā€œI sought the Lord with my hands by night before Him, and I was not deceived.ā€ That means you must turn your thoughts to Him when the temptation rises, not merely once but persistently, through the long hours of inner battle, calling on His name, fixing your mind on judgment and heavenly reward, refusing the imagination that feeds lust. The hand of prayer must stretch out in the dark of the night season of your soul, and you will not be put to shame.

At the same time, apply a wise and gradual discipline. As little children first learn to trace letters, then to recognize them even when misshapen, and only then to read smoothly, so you must train your soul by stages. Begin by mastering the smaller movements: a roving eye, a lingering thought, an idle word. When you have gained some steadiness there, proceed to the deeper roots, gluttony, sloth, vainglory, for these often secretly nourish the grosser passions. Do not attempt to conquer everything in a single day, but advance step by step, knitting one virtue to another until the garment of your new self is woven whole. A soul left formless and undisciplined will always be overthrown when the storm strikes.

We shall pray earnestly that God speak to you, that He give you understanding and a complete deliverance. But you must work as one who fears shipwreck even after many calm seas. The enemy does not sleep, and the mind that grows careless after a partial victory will soon find itself in a deeper pit. Yet let this not dishearten you; rather, let it make you sober. The mercy of Christ is infinite, and He stands ready to heal again, but you must hold fast to the plough and not look back. Take courage: the one who has already granted you improvement will perfect the work if you persevere, ever seeking His face with labor and hope.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
