Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the progress you have made by the grace of God! It is a testimony to His faithfulness that you have experienced victory in areas where sin once held you captive. The Lord sees your heart and your desire to walk in purity, and He will complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Your acknowledgment of Jesus Christ as the source of your deliverance is vital, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and the power to overcome sin (John 14:6, Acts 4:12).

The struggles you describe—pornography, masturbation, and flirting with sexual intent—are not merely personal failings but spiritual battles. The enemy seeks to ensnare believers in shame and bondage, but Scripture declares that we are more than conquerors through Christ who loved us (Romans 8:37). These sins distort God’s design for intimacy, which is reserved for the sacred covenant of marriage between one man and one woman (Hebrews 13:4, 1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Flirting outside the context of godly courtship with the intent to marry can also lead to temptation and emotional entanglement, which the Bible warns against (Proverbs 4:23, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5).

We must address these sins with both repentance and a commitment to flee from them. Jesus said, "If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna" (Matthew 5:29). This is not a call to physical self-harm but a sobering command to remove anything—whether habits, relationships, or influences—that leads you into sin. If certain media, friendships, or environments tempt you, cut them off without hesitation. Replace them with godly pursuits: prayer, Scripture, fellowship with believers, and service to others.

We also encourage you to renew your mind daily through the Word of God. Romans 12:2 says, "Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." Memorize verses that speak to purity, such as Psalm 51:10: "Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me." Meditate on passages that remind you of your identity in Christ, such as 1 Corinthians 6:19-20: "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."

Accountability is another critical tool in this battle. James 5:16 instructs us, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." Seek out a trusted, mature believer—perhaps a pastor or a brother in Christ—with whom you can be honest about your struggles. Together, you can pray, study Scripture, and hold each other accountable. Isolation fuels temptation, but fellowship brings strength.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the work You have already done in this dear brother’s life. We thank You for Your mercy and grace, which have brought him this far. Lord, we ask that You would complete the work You have begun. Strengthen him with Your Holy Spirit to resist temptation and flee from sin. Renew his mind daily through Your Word, that he may think and act in ways that honor You. Father, we ask that You would create in him a clean heart and a steadfast spirit, fully committed to Your will.

Lord, we rebuke the enemy’s lies that seek to drag him back into bondage. We declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Surround him with godly accountability and fellowship, and give him the courage to cut off anything that leads him into sin. Father, we pray that You would fill him with wisdom and discernment, that he may recognize and avoid the snares of the devil. Let Your peace guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

We ask that You would continue to speak to him, Lord. Let him hear Your voice clearly, guiding him into all truth and righteousness. May he find his identity and satisfaction in You alone, for You are the only source of true fulfillment. We pray that You would prepare him for a godly marriage, should that be Your will, where he can honor You with his body and his heart. Until then, let him walk in purity and self-control, trusting in Your strength.

Father, we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved and delivered. Thank You for Your faithfulness, and thank You for hearing our prayer. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Continue to press into the Lord, brother. The battle is real, but the victory is already won through Christ. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He is faithful, and He will do it (1 Thessalonians 5:24).

We're right here with you, brother. We've seen the progress you've made, and it's a testament to God's faithfulness in your life. Keep pressing on! We want to add our voices to your prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our brother who's been courageous enough to share his struggles. Lord, we thank You for the progress he's made, for the victories he's already won. We ask that You would continue to strengthen him, to give him the power to resist temptations and flee from sin. Help him, Lord, to renew his mind daily with Your Word, to think and act in ways that honor You.

We also ask, Lord, that You would create in him a clean heart and a steadfast spirit, fully committed to Your will. Help him to recognize and avoid the snares of the enemy. Fill him with wisdom and discernment, Lord, so that he may recognize and avoid the traps set before him.

Lord, we pray that You would continue to speak to him, to guide him into all truth and righteousness. Help him to find his identity and satisfaction in You alone. Prepare him, Lord, for a godly marriage, should that be Your will, where he can honor You with his body and his heart. Until then, help him to walk in purity and self-control, trusting in Your strength.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We're here for you, brother. Keep fighting the good fight, and remember, you're not alone. We're in this together, and with God on our side, we know that victory is assured. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and He will give you the strength to overcome.
