Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the victory and progress the Lord Jesus Christ has already brought into your life! Your heartfelt cry for deliverance and transformation is a powerful testimony to His grace and mercy. The fact that you are seeking lasting change for God’s glory is evidence of the Holy Spirit’s work within you, and we stand with you in prayer and encouragement as you continue this battle.

The sins you’ve named—pornography, masturbation, flirting with immoral intent, and other sexual impurities—are not merely struggles of the flesh but spiritual strongholds that seek to enslave and distort God’s design for intimacy, purity, and self-control. The Bible is clear that sexual immorality defiles the body, which is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). These sins also distort the heart’s affections, pulling us away from wholehearted devotion to Christ. But take heart, for Scripture declares, *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13). The Lord has already provided the way out, and He will continue to do so as you walk in dependence on Him.

We must also address the root of these struggles. Often, sexual sin is not just about physical desire but about deeper needs—loneliness, insecurity, boredom, or even a misplaced search for love and validation. The enemy seeks to exploit these vulnerabilities, but Christ offers true fulfillment. Jesus said, *"The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly"* (John 10:10). Your battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of darkness (Ephesians 6:12), which is why we must fight with spiritual weapons—prayer, the Word of God, accountability, and the power of the Holy Spirit.

We rebuke the lies of the enemy that whisper you cannot overcome this or that you are defined by your struggles. The truth is that in Christ, you are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17), and His power is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). The apostle Paul himself cried out, *"Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me out of the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord!"* (Romans 7:24-25). Your deliverance is not found in your own strength but in the finished work of Christ on the cross and the resurrection power that now lives in you.

Let us also emphasize the importance of renewing your mind. Romans 12:2 urges us, *"Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."* This means filling your mind with Scripture, meditating on God’s truth, and actively rejecting the lies and images that fuel temptation. Memorize verses that speak to God’s design for purity, such as *"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God"* (Matthew 5:8) and *"Flee sexual immorality!"* (1 Corinthians 6:18). Replace the time spent in sin with time in prayer, worship, and godly fellowship.

Accountability is another critical tool in this battle. James 5:16 instructs us, *"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."* Find a trusted, mature believer—preferably someone of the same gender—with whom you can share your struggles openly and who will pray for you and hold you accountable. Isolation is the enemy’s playground, but fellowship in Christ is a refuge.

We also encourage you to examine your habits and environment. Are there triggers—certain websites, social media accounts, or relationships—that lead you into temptation? Jesus warned, *"If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna"* (Matthew 5:29). This is not a call to literal self-harm but a radical call to remove anything that leads you into sin. If certain friendships or activities are stumbling blocks, have the courage to distance yourself from them for the sake of your soul.

Now, let us pray together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the work You have already done in this beloved brother’s life. We thank You for the progress You have brought and for his sincere desire to walk in purity and holiness for Your glory. Lord, we ask that You would complete the good work You have begun in him (Philippians 1:6). Strengthen him with Your might by the power of Your Spirit in his inner being, so that Christ may dwell in his heart through faith (Ephesians 3:16-17).

Father, we ask that You would break every chain of sexual sin in his life. Deliver him from the grip of pornography, masturbation, and all forms of sexual immorality. Cleanse his mind, heart, and eyes from every impure thought and desire. Renew his mind daily with Your Word, and let Your truth be a lamp to his feet and a light to his path (Psalm 119:105). Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in self-control, which is a fruit of Your Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).

Lord, we pray that You would surround him with godly accountability and fellowship. Bring mature believers into his life who will encourage him, pray for him, and hold him accountable with love and grace. Help him to flee from temptation and to resist the devil, knowing that when he does, the enemy will flee from him (James 4:7).

Father, we ask that You would heal any wounds or voids in his heart that the enemy has exploited. Replace feelings of loneliness, insecurity, or inadequacy with the truth of Your love and acceptance. Let him know that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that his worth is found in Christ alone. Help him to find his satisfaction and joy in You, for You alone can fill the deepest longings of his heart.

Lord, we also pray for wisdom. Grant him discernment to recognize the enemy’s schemes and the strength to stand firm in the armor You have provided (Ephesians 6:10-18). Give him a holy hatred for sin and a deep love for righteousness. May he run the race set before him with endurance, fixing his eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of his faith (Hebrews 12:1-2).

Above all, Father, we pray that You would draw him closer to Yourself. Let this battle be a means of deepening his relationship with You, for in Your presence is fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11). May he experience the freedom and peace that come from walking in obedience to You.

We ask all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has overcome the world and broken the power of sin. May Your will be done in his life, and may Your name be glorified through his victory. Amen.

Brother, do not grow weary in this fight. The road to lasting freedom is often a marathon, not a sprint, but every step you take in obedience is a step toward victory. Remember that God’s grace is sufficient for you, and His power is perfected in your weakness. Keep pressing into Him, saturating your mind with His Word, and leaning on the body of Christ. You are not alone in this battle, and the Lord is faithful to complete the work He has started in you.

Finally, consider fasting as a spiritual discipline to strengthen your resolve and draw closer to God. Jesus said that some battles can only be won through prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29). Even a short fast from food, entertainment, or social media can help you focus your heart on the Lord and seek His face with greater intensity.

May the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, and He will do it (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24).

Dear friend, we stand with you in your journey towards freedom and wholeness. We're so glad to hear about the progress you've made, and we're here to support you in the next steps.

We believe that God is not done with you yet. He's been working in your life, and He's going to continue to do so. As it's written in Philippians 1:6, "being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

Let's pray together for wisdom, strength, and perseverance. We ask that God would give you the wisdom to discern His will and the strength to walk in it. We pray that He would fill you with His Holy Spirit, guiding you and empowering you to live a life pleasing to Him.

We also pray for God to reveal any root issues that might be contributing to your struggles. Help Him to understand the deeper needs that might be driving these behaviors, so that He can address them at the root and bring healing and wholeness.

We ask that God would surround you with a community of believers who can support, encourage, and hold you accountable. We pray that you would find the courage to be open and honest with trusted friends about your struggles, and that you would find accountability partners who can walk alongside you in this journey.

We also pray for protection. We ask that God would guard your eyes, your mind, and your heart from temptations. Help you to flee from sin and run towards Him.

And finally, we pray for your heart. We ask that God would fill you with a deep sense of His love and acceptance. Help you to find your identity and worth in Him, and not in your struggles or past mistakes.

Let's keep encouraging each other and fighting the good fight of faith together. Remember, God is with you, and He's not going to give up on you. You're not alone in this battle.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
