Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the victory that our Lord Jesus Christ has already begun in your life! It is clear that the Holy Spirit is at work within you, drawing you closer to holiness and freedom. The progress you’ve experienced is not by your strength alone but by the grace of God, who is faithful to complete the good work He has started in you (Philippians 1:6). We stand with you in prayer, lifting you up before the throne of grace, where mercy and help are found in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

The sins you mention—pornography, masturbation, flirting with impure motives, and other sexual immorality—are not merely struggles of the flesh but battles for the soul. The enemy seeks to ensnare God’s children in shame, isolation, and bondage, but Christ came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18). We rebuke every lie that tells you these sins are too powerful to overcome or that you are defined by your past. In Christ, you are a new creation; the old has passed away, and behold, the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17). The blood of Jesus cleanses you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9), and His power is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

We must address these sins with both truth and tenderness. Sexual immorality, including pornography and lustful thoughts, grieves the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:30) and defiles the temple of God, which is your body (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Flirting with impure motives, even if it seems harmless, can lead to emotional or physical unfaithfulness and is not aligned with the purity and self-control that God calls us to (1 Thessalonians 4:3-5). Masturbation, when accompanied by lustful thoughts, is a form of self-gratification that feeds the flesh rather than the spirit and can become a stronghold if not surrendered to God. We encourage you to flee from these sins (1 Corinthians 6:18) and to take every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).

True and lasting freedom comes not only from resisting sin but from replacing it with godly pursuits. Renewing your mind (Romans 12:2) involves saturating yourself in Scripture, prayer, and fellowship with believers who will encourage you in your walk. We pray that God will give you a hunger for His Word, that you may meditate on it day and night (Psalm 1:2) and hide it in your heart so you might not sin against Him (Psalm 119:11). Surround yourself with accountability—brothers or sisters in Christ who will pray for you, challenge you, and walk with you in transparency. Iron sharpens iron, and so one man sharpens another (Proverbs 27:17).

We also pray for wisdom and discernment, that the Holy Spirit would reveal the root causes of these struggles. Often, sexual sin is a counterfeit for deeper needs—loneliness, stress, boredom, or a desire for intimacy. God alone can satisfy the longings of your heart (Psalm 107:9), and we pray that He would fill you with His love, peace, and joy so that you are not tempted to seek fulfillment in sinful ways. Ask Him to show you if there are areas of your life where you have not fully surrendered to His lordship, and yield those to Him in repentance.

Deliverance is not a one-time event but a daily surrender to the power of the Holy Spirit. We pray that God would strengthen you to resist temptation in the moment, to cry out to Him when you feel weak, and to stand firm in the armor He provides (Ephesians 6:10-18). When you stumble—and we all do—do not let shame drive you away from God. Instead, run to Him, confess your sin, and receive His forgiveness and restoration (1 John 1:9). The enemy wants you to believe that you are beyond grace, but God’s mercy is new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).

We also encourage you to guard your heart and mind diligently. This means being mindful of what you watch, read, and listen to, as well as the company you keep. Bad company corrupts good character (1 Corinthians 15:33), and even seemingly innocent influences can lead you astray. Fill your mind with things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8). Replace idle time with activities that honor God—serving others, studying Scripture, worshiping, or engaging in hobbies that build you up spiritually and emotionally.

Lastly, we pray that God would give you a vision for purity that goes beyond mere abstinence. Purity is not just about avoiding sin but about pursuing holiness and intimacy with God. It is about honoring Him with your body, mind, and spirit, and preparing yourself for the spouse He may have for you, should He call you to marriage. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If you are not yet married, we pray that God would prepare you for a godly spouse and that you would pursue relationships with the goal of marriage, rooted in Christ and guided by His Word.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the work You are doing in this dear brother’s life. We thank You for the progress he has made and for his desire to walk in holiness. Lord, we ask that You would complete the work You have begun in him. Strengthen him with Your mighty power so that he may stand firm against every temptation. Renew his mind daily through Your Word, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that he may walk in purity and self-control.

Father, we pray that You would break every chain of sexual sin in his life. Deliver him from the lies of the enemy and the desires of the flesh that seek to ensnare him. Give him wisdom to recognize the root causes of these struggles and the courage to surrender them to You. Surround him with godly accountability and fellowship, and fill his heart with Your love so that he is not tempted to seek fulfillment in sinful ways.

Lord, we ask that You would guard his heart and mind. Help him to flee from temptation and to fill his time with activities that honor You. When he stumbles, remind him of Your grace and mercy, and draw him back to You in repentance. Give him a vision for purity that goes beyond mere abstinence, that he may pursue holiness and intimacy with You above all else.

If it is Your will, prepare him for a godly spouse and a marriage that honors You. Until then, help him to live as a man of integrity, honoring You with his body, mind, and spirit. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone has the power to set us free. Amen.

We're right there with you, brother, cheering you on in your journey towards freedom and holiness. We're so glad to see the progress you've made, and we're here to lift you up in prayer, just as you've asked.

Let's keep pressing on, shall we? The enemy may try to make you feel defeated or ashamed, but remember, in Christ, you are more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37)! So, let's keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).

We're praying for you, that God would:

- Give you the strength to resist temptations and flee from sinful thoughts and actions (1 Corinthians 6:18, 2 Timothy 2:22).
- Renew your mind daily, helping you to think and act in ways that honor Him (Romans 12:2, 2 Corinthians 10:5).
- Reveal any root causes of these struggles and give you the courage to surrender them to Him (Psalm 139:23-24).
- Fill your heart with His love, peace, and joy, so that you won't seek fulfillment in sinful ways (Galatians 5:22-23).
- Give you wisdom to make godly decisions and surround you with godly accountability (Proverbs 1:7, Hebrews 10:25).
- Guard your heart and mind, helping you to be mindful of what you watch, read, and listen to (Philippians 4:8, Proverbs 4:23).
- And finally, give you a vision for purity that goes beyond mere abstinence, helping you to pursue holiness and intimacy with Him (1 Thessalonians 4:3-5, 1 Peter 1:14-16).

We're here for you, brother, and we're believing with you for a complete and lasting freedom in Christ. Keep fighting the good fight, and remember, you're not alone in this battle (2 Timothy 4:7). Let's keep pressing on together, for the glory of God!

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
