Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the victory and progress the Lord Jesus Christ has already brought into your life! Your heartfelt cry for deliverance and transformation is a powerful testimony to His grace at work in you. The fact that you are seeking lasting change—not just temporary relief—shows a deep desire to honor God with your whole life, and that is something we celebrate.

The struggles you mention—pornography, masturbation, flirting outside of godly boundaries, and other sexual sins—are not merely personal failures but spiritual battles. The enemy seeks to ensnare believers in shame, isolation, and bondage, but Scripture declares that Christ has already overcome these things. "For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace" (Romans 6:14). This does not mean we take sin lightly, but that we stand in the power of Christ’s victory, not our own strength.

We must also address the root of these struggles. Sexual sin often stems from deeper issues—loneliness, unmet desires, idolatry of pleasure, or even a lack of fulfillment in Christ. The world offers counterfeit intimacy, but God’s design for sexuality is holy, beautiful, and reserved for the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Hebrews 13:4). Anything outside of that is a distortion of His perfect plan. Flirting, even if it seems harmless, can easily become a stumbling block, leading to emotional or physical unfaithfulness. We must guard our hearts diligently, for "the heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9). True wisdom comes from seeking God’s perspective, not our own feelings or the world’s standards.

You are right to cry out for lasting change. The apostle Paul wrote, "I find then the law that, to me, while I desire to do good, evil is present. For I delight in God’s law after the inward person, but I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity under the law of sin which is in my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will deliver me out of the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord!" (Romans 7:21-25). This battle is real, but the victory is already won in Christ. You are not alone in this fight, and your dependence on Him is the key to freedom.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, giving You all the glory for the work You have already done in this dear brother’s life. Lord, You see his heart—his desire to be free, his hunger for holiness, and his longing to honor You in every area of his life. We ask that You would complete the good work You have begun in him (Philippians 1:6). Father, we rebuke every lie of the enemy that says this struggle is too great, that change is impossible, or that shame should keep him silent. In Jesus’ name, we break the power of these sins and declare that he is no longer a slave to them but a son of God, set free by the blood of Christ (John 8:36).

Lord, renew his mind daily by the washing of Your Word (Ephesians 5:26). Give him wisdom to recognize the triggers and temptations before they take root. Help him to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18) and to pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on You out of a pure heart (2 Timothy 2:22). Father, fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that he is not controlled by the flesh but by Your Spirit (Romans 8:5-6). Where there has been loneliness, draw him closer to You and to godly community. Where there has been idolatry of pleasure, let him find his ultimate satisfaction in You alone (Psalm 16:11).

We pray for accountability in his life—godly men who will walk with him, pray with him, and speak truth into his life without judgment. Give him the courage to be transparent and the humility to receive correction. Father, we ask that You would guard his eyes, his mind, and his heart. Help him to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). When temptation comes, remind him of Your faithfulness and the freedom that is found in You.

Lord, we also pray for his future marriage, if that is Your will for him. Prepare him to be a godly husband who loves his wife as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25). Let him see marriage not as a means to fulfill his own desires but as a sacred covenant to reflect Your love and faithfulness. Until that day, help him to honor You with his body, which is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

Father, we thank You that You are a God of mercy and deliverance. You do not treat us as our sins deserve (Psalm 103:10), but You extend grace upon grace. Speak to this brother’s heart. Let him hear Your voice clearly, guiding him into all truth. Give him understanding of Your Word and a hunger to know You more deeply. We declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37), and we stand with him in faith, believing that You will complete the work You have started.

In the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Brother, your cry has been heard, and your desire for holiness is a gift from God. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Surround yourself with Scripture—meditate on it day and night (Psalm 1:2). Memorize verses that speak to your struggle, such as 1 Corinthians 10:13: "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." When temptation comes, call out to Jesus immediately. He is your advocate (1 John 2:1), and He is faithful to provide a way out.

Consider fasting as a way to strengthen your spirit and weaken the flesh. Jesus said that some spirits only come out through prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29). This is not about earning God’s favor but about positioning your heart to receive more of Him. Also, seek out a trusted pastor, counselor, or mature believer who can walk with you in this journey. You do not have to fight alone.

Finally, remember that your identity is not defined by your struggles but by your Savior. You are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. Walk in that truth every day. The road to freedom is not always easy, but it is worth it. Keep pressing into Jesus, and He will lead you into the abundant life He has promised (John 10:10). We are standing with you in prayer, believing God for complete and lasting victory in your life.

We're right there with you, brother, in this journey towards freedom and holiness. We're cheering you on, and we're here to remind you that you're not alone. We've been praying for you, and we want to add a few more things to our conversation with the Father on your behalf.

First, let's ask for an increase in your hunger and thirst for righteousness. We know that Jesus said, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled" (Matthew 5:6). Let's pray that God would stir up a deep longing within you for Him and His ways.

Next, let's intercede for a spirit of discernment. We want you to be able to recognize the subtle whispers of temptation and the deceitfulness of your own heart (Jeremiah 17:9). Pray that God would give you a keen awareness of your surroundings and the ability to make wise choices that honor Him.

Also, let's ask for an outpouring of God's grace and mercy. We know that God's grace is sufficient for you (2 Corinthians 12:9), and we want you to experience that reality in a profound way. Pray that God would fill you with His grace, enabling you to stand firm against temptation and to walk in a manner worthy of your calling (Ephesians 4:1).

Lastly, let's intercede for a spirit of joy and thanksgiving. We want you to experience the joy of the Lord, which is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Pray that even in the midst of your struggles, you would find joy in your relationship with Christ and in the process of sanctification.

We're believing with you for a breakthrough, brother. Keep fighting the good fight, and remember that God is always with you, working in you, and cheering you on. We're standing with you, and we're confident that God will complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
