Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the progress the Lord has already brought into your life! Your heartfelt cry for deliverance and transformation is a powerful testimony to God’s grace at work in you. The fact that you are seeking lasting victory—rather than temporary relief—shows a deep desire to honor Him with your whole life. We stand with you in prayer, lifting you before the throne of grace, where mercy and help are always found.

The struggles you mention—pornography, masturbation, flirting, and sexual sin—are not just personal battles but spiritual ones. The enemy seeks to ensnare believers in shame, isolation, and bondage, but Scripture declares that *greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world* (1 John 4:4). These sins often thrive in secrecy, so your willingness to bring them into the light is a critical step toward freedom. The Word reminds us, *"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9). You have already experienced God’s forgiveness, but now we pray for His power to break every chain.

First, we must address the root of these struggles. Sexual sin is not merely a physical temptation but a heart issue. Jesus warned, *"For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies"* (Matthew 15:19). True victory comes not just from behavior modification but from a transformed heart. We pray that God would reveal any idols in your life—whether it’s the pursuit of pleasure, validation from others, or self-gratification—and replace them with a deeper hunger for Him. *"Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me"* (Psalm 51:10).

Accountability is also essential. The Bible instructs us to *"confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed"* (James 5:16). We encourage you to seek out a trusted, godly brother in Christ who can walk with you, pray with you, and hold you accountable. Isolation is the enemy’s playground, but fellowship is where healing begins. If you do not already have such a person in your life, ask the Lord to provide one.

We must also address the flirting you mentioned. While it may seem harmless, Scripture warns against even the *appearance* of sexual immorality (1 Thessalonians 5:22). Flirting outside the bounds of marriage can stir up desires that lead to sin and can also dishonor the other person by treating them as an object of temporary pleasure rather than a child of God. We pray that God would give you wisdom to guard your heart and the hearts of others. *"Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4). If you are not yet married, we encourage you to pursue relationships with the goal of godly marriage, where emotional and physical intimacy can be enjoyed within the covenant of Christ.

Your request for a renewed mind is critical. The apostle Paul urges us, *"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God"* (Romans 12:2). This means filling your mind with Scripture, worship, and godly counsel rather than the empty distractions of the world. We pray that God would saturate your thoughts with His truth, making you wise to recognize temptation before it takes root. *"Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path"* (Psalm 119:105).

Deliverance is not a one-time event but a daily surrender. Jesus taught us to pray, *"Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one"* (Matthew 6:13). We pray that God would strengthen you to resist temptation the moment it arises, reminding you that *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13). Victory is possible, but it requires vigilance and dependence on the Holy Spirit.

Finally, we pray for your heart to experience the fullness of God’s mercy and grace. You have cried out to Him, and He has heard you. *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). Do not let shame or guilt from past failures keep you from running to Him. Jesus’ blood has already paid for your sins—past, present, and future. Walk in the freedom of His forgiveness, and let His love compel you to live holy.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the work You have already done in this dear brother’s life. We thank You for drawing him to Yourself, for breaking the chains of sin, and for giving him a hunger for righteousness. Lord, we ask that You would complete the good work You have begun in him. Strengthen him with Your might so that he may stand firm against every temptation. Renew his mind daily with Your Word, and let Your truth be the lens through which he sees himself and the world.

Father, we ask that You would reveal any areas of his heart that still cling to sin. Show him the idols that compete for Your place, and give him the courage to tear them down. Surround him with godly accountability, and provide brothers in Christ who will walk with him in honesty and prayer. Guard his eyes, his thoughts, and his heart from the lies of the enemy. Let him find his satisfaction in You alone, for You are the only One who can truly fulfill the deepest longings of his soul.

Lord, we pray for his relationships. If he is not yet married, prepare him for a godly spouse and give him wisdom to pursue relationships that honor You. If he is married, restore any brokenness and let his marriage be a testimony to Your grace. Help him to flee from all sexual immorality, whether in thought or deed, and to treat others with the purity and respect they deserve as Your children.

We declare over him the promise of Your Word: *"Sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace"* (Romans 6:14). Let this truth sink deep into his spirit. May he walk in the freedom Christ died to give him, not as a slave to sin but as a son of the Most High God. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may bear the fruit of self-control, love, and holiness.

Father, we ask that You would speak to him in ways he cannot ignore. Let him hear Your voice clearly, whether through Your Word, godly counsel, or the still small whisper of Your Spirit. Give him understanding to discern Your will and the strength to obey it. Deliver him from every snare of the enemy, and let him experience the joy of a life fully surrendered to You.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name, the One who has conquered sin and death. By His blood, we are cleansed; by His power, we are set free. May this brother walk in that freedom today and every day, to the glory of Your name. Amen.

We're here with you, brother, every step of the way. We've seen the progress you've made, and we're cheering you on! Let's keep pressing in together. We're praying for God to give you a hunger and thirst for righteousness, like the psalmist said, "As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God." (Psalm 42:1) We're asking God to reveal any areas of your heart that still need healing, and to fill you with His love and grace. We're also praying for God to give you wisdom and discernment, so you can recognize and avoid temptations before they take root. Let's keep fighting the good fight, together, in Jesus' name.
