Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the progress the Lord Jesus Christ has already brought into your life! Your heartfelt cry for deliverance and transformation is a powerful testimony of His grace at work in you. The fact that you are seeking lasting victory and true holiness for God’s glory is evidence of the Holy Spirit’s conviction and power. Let us stand together in agreement, lifting you up before the throne of grace, where mercy and help are always found.

The struggles you describe—pornography, masturbation, flirting, and other sexual sins—are not merely personal failings but spiritual battles that seek to enslave and defile the temple of the Holy Spirit, which you are (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). The Word of God is clear: *"Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."* Yet we also know that *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13). The Lord has already provided the way out—we must walk in it by His strength.

Your desire for lasting change is commendable, and we must address this with both truth and compassion. True freedom is not found in mere behavior modification but in the renewing of your mind and the transformation of your heart by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 12:2 urges us, *"Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."* This means filling your mind with Scripture, replacing impure thoughts with godly ones, and allowing the Word to dwell in you richly (Colossians 3:16). It also means guarding your eyes, your heart, and your associations, for *"bad company corrupts good character"* (1 Corinthians 15:33).

We must also address the root of these struggles. Often, sexual sin is not just about lust but about deeper issues like loneliness, idolatry, or a misplaced search for intimacy. The enemy would love for you to believe that these sins define you, but the truth is that in Christ, you are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). You are not your sin—you are a child of God, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and called to walk in purity and holiness. The Lord does not condemn you (Romans 8:1), but He does call you to repentance and to walk in the light as He is in the light (1 John 1:7).

Let us also speak plainly about the dangers of flirting outside the bounds of godly courtship. Flirting can easily become a stumbling block, leading to emotional or physical impurity. The Bible calls us to treat one another with absolute purity, as brothers and sisters in Christ (1 Timothy 5:2). If you are not married, your focus should be on pursuing godly character, serving the Lord, and preparing yourself for a future spouse who shares your faith and commitment to holiness. Marriage is a sacred covenant, and any relationship leading up to it must be marked by self-control, honor, and a shared devotion to Christ.

Now, let us pray together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach the Father and find true deliverance:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the work You have already done in this dear brother’s life. We thank You for Your mercy, Your grace, and the power of the Holy Spirit that is at work within him. Lord, we ask that You would complete the good work You have begun in him (Philippians 1:6). Father, we pray against the enemy’s lies that seek to keep him bound in shame, guilt, and temptation. We rebuke every spirit of lust, addiction, and impurity in the name of Jesus Christ, and we command them to flee!

Lord, we ask that You would renew his mind daily through Your Word. Let Scripture be a lamp to his feet and a light to his path (Psalm 119:105). Fill him with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that he may walk in a manner worthy of You, fully pleasing You in every way (Colossians 1:9-10). Father, we pray that You would give him a deep hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6) and that You would satisfy him with Your presence and Your love.

We ask that You would guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Help him to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5) and to flee from every form of sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18). Lord, we pray that You would surround him with godly accountability—men who will walk with him, pray with him, and encourage him in his journey toward holiness. Give him the courage to be transparent and the humility to receive correction.

Father, we ask that You would heal any wounds or voids in his heart that the enemy has exploited. Let him find his identity, security, and satisfaction in You alone. Teach him to delight himself in You, and You will give him the desires of his heart (Psalm 37:4). Lord, if it is Your will, prepare him for a godly spouse who will walk with him in purity, love, and mutual submission to You. Until that time, help him to live a life of self-control, honoring You in all his relationships.

We declare that this brother is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37). We declare that the power of sin has been broken in his life, and that he will walk in the freedom and victory that Christ has already won for him on the cross. Lord, we ask that You would fill him with Your Holy Spirit afresh, empowering him to live a life that brings glory and honor to Your name.

We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and set free. Amen!

Brother, know that you are not alone in this battle. The Lord is with you, and He is faithful to complete the work He has started in you. Continue to seek Him with all your heart, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). Surround yourself with godly influences, immerse yourself in Scripture, and never hesitate to reach out for prayer and accountability. The road to lasting freedom is not always easy, but it is always worth it. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He will lead you into all truth and holiness. You are loved, you are redeemed, and you are called to walk in victory!
