Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the progress the Lord has already brought into your life! It is clear that the Holy Spirit is at work in you, drawing you closer to holiness and freedom. The fact that you are crying out to Jesus and giving Him all the glory is evidence of a heart that truly desires to be set apart for God’s purposes. We stand with you in this battle, knowing that victory is already secured through Christ, but the fight for purity requires vigilance, surrender, and reliance on the power of the Holy Spirit.

The sins you mentioned—pornography, masturbation, and flirtatious behavior—are not merely struggles of the flesh but attacks on the very temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). These sins distort God’s design for intimacy, which is meant to be a sacred covenant between a man and a woman within the bounds of marriage. The enemy seeks to ensnare believers in shame and bondage, but we declare that you are no longer a slave to sin but a child of the Most High God (Romans 6:6). The Lord has not given you a spirit of fear but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We rebuke the lies of the enemy that tell you this struggle is too great or that you are defined by your past. In Christ, you are a new creation—the old has passed away, and the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17)!

We must also address the root of these struggles. Often, sexual sin is not just about physical temptation but about deeper issues of the heart—loneliness, idolatry, or a desire to fill a void that only God can satisfy. Jesus said, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” (Matthew 5:8). Purity is not just about outward behavior but about the condition of your heart. We encourage you to examine your heart before the Lord and ask Him to reveal any areas where you may be seeking fulfillment outside of Him. Are you spending time in His Word daily? Are you guarding your eyes and mind from influences that stir up temptation? Are you accountable to other believers who can pray with you and encourage you in your walk?

The apostle Paul writes, “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it” (1 Corinthians 10:13). This is a promise from God—He will always provide a way of escape. But you must choose to take it. This may mean radical steps, such as installing accountability software on your devices, avoiding certain environments or relationships that lead you into temptation, or even fasting from media or entertainment that feeds impure thoughts. Remember, Jesus said, “If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell” (Matthew 5:29). This is not a call to physical self-harm but a call to radical obedience—whatever it takes to walk in purity.

We also want to encourage you to renew your mind daily through Scripture. The psalmist writes, “How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word” (Psalm 119:9). Meditate on God’s Word, memorize verses that speak to your struggle, and let them transform your thinking. For example, “Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body” (1 Corinthians 6:18). This is not just a warning but a call to action—flee! Run from temptation as Joseph did when Potiphar’s wife sought to seduce him (Genesis 39:12). Joseph’s immediate response was to flee, and God honored his obedience.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the work You are doing in this brother’s life. Lord, we praise You for the progress You have already brought, and we ask that You would complete the good work You have begun in him (Philippians 1:6). Father, we ask that You would break every chain of bondage to sexual sin in his life. We rebuke the spirit of lust and impurity in the name of Jesus and command it to flee. Lord, fill him with Your Holy Spirit and grant him the fruit of self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

Father, we ask that You would renew his mind and transform him by the power of Your Word (Romans 12:2). Give him wisdom and discernment to recognize temptation and the strength to flee from it. Lord, we pray that You would heal any wounds or voids in his heart that the enemy has exploited. Fill him with Your love, Your peace, and Your presence so that he is no longer drawn to sin but to You alone.

We ask that You would surround him with godly accountability—men who will walk with him, pray for him, and encourage him in his journey toward holiness. Lord, give him the courage to take radical steps to remove anything from his life that leads him into temptation. We pray that You would guard his eyes, his mind, and his heart from impure influences.

Father, we ask that You would speak to him clearly and give him understanding of Your will for his life. Show him the path of righteousness and lead him in it. We pray that You would deliver him completely from these sins and set him free to walk in the fullness of Your purpose for him. May his life be a testimony to Your transforming power, and may he bring glory to Your name in all that he does.

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, who has overcome the world and broken every chain. Amen.

Continue to press into the Lord, dear brother. The battle is real, but the victory is already yours in Christ. Do not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time, you will reap a harvest if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Surround yourself with believers who will sharpen you and hold you accountable. Spend time in God’s presence daily, for it is in His presence that fullness of joy is found (Psalm 16:11). You are not alone in this fight—we are praying for you, and more importantly, the Lord is fighting for you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He is faithful, and He will complete the work He has started in you.

Dear friend, we're right there with you in this journey. We're cheering you on and standing in the gap for you. We know that God is at work in your life, and we're seeing the progress too. It's amazing how far you've come, and we're praising God for that!

We want to encourage you to keep pressing in. Remember, it's not just about the outward behavior, but also about the heart. Jesus said, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God" (Matthew 5:8). So, let's ask God to search our hearts and reveal any areas where we might be seeking fulfillment outside of Him. Are we spending time in His Word daily? Are we guarding our eyes and minds from influences that stir up temptation? Are we accountable to other believers who can pray with us and encourage us in our walk?

We also want to remind you that God is faithful. He won't let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, and He'll always provide a way out (1 Corinthians 10:13). So, let's choose to take that way out, no matter what it looks like. It might mean installing accountability software, avoiding certain environments, or even fasting from certain media or entertainment that feeds impure thoughts.

Let's also ask God to renew our minds daily through His Word. The psalmist says, "How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word" (Psalm 119:9). So, let's meditate on God's Word, memorize verses that speak to our struggle, and let them transform our thinking.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
