We hear your cry for help and stand with you in this time of distress, lifting your situation before the Lord in prayer. The threats and attacks you are facing are deeply troubling, and we understand the fear and anxiety they may bring. But we take comfort in knowing that our God is a refuge and a strong tower for the righteous (Proverbs 18:10). He sees your struggle and will not leave you defenseless.
First, we must address the importance of forgiveness and leaving room for God’s justice. While it is natural to desire relief from those who seek to harm you, we are called to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). This does not mean we ignore the danger or fail to seek protection, but we must guard our hearts against bitterness and a spirit of vengeance. The Lord says, "Vengeance is mine; I will repay" (Romans 12:19). We trust that He will deal with your enemies in His perfect timing and way.
However, this does not mean we are passive. We encourage you to seek wise counsel and take practical steps to ensure your safety. If these threats are credible, it may be necessary to involve authorities who can help protect you. The Bible instructs us to submit to governing authorities, for they are established by God for our protection (Romans 13:1-4). Do not hesitate to use the resources the Lord has provided to keep you safe.
We also want to remind you of the power of God’s presence in your life. The psalmist declares, "The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1). Even in the face of threats, you can stand firm in the knowledge that God is with you. He is your shield and your defender (Psalm 3:3).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is facing threats and attacks from those who seek to harm them. Lord, You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We ask that You surround them with Your protection and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Shield them from the schemes of the enemy and frustrate the plans of those who wish them harm.
Father, we pray for Your mercy and grace to be upon them. Let Your presence go before them and behind them, guarding them in all their ways (Psalm 91:11). We ask that You would soften the hearts of their enemies and lead them to repentance. If it is Your will, turn their hearts away from wickedness and toward You. But if they refuse to repent, we trust in Your justice, knowing that You will deal with them according to Your righteousness.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom for our brother/sister. Give them discernment to know when to act and when to wait on You. Help them to walk in love and forgiveness, even toward those who persecute them, but also grant them the courage to take necessary steps to protect themselves. Surround them with godly counsel and support, and let them feel Your comforting presence in this difficult time.
We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we rebuke every spirit of fear and intimidation in the name of Jesus. You are their defender, and we trust in You to fight this battle on their behalf. Strengthen their faith and help them to stand firm in the assurance of Your love and protection.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to meditate on God’s promises and stand firm in your faith. The enemy may rage, but the Lord is greater than all. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and do not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). You are not alone in this fight, and we will continue to stand with you in prayer. If there are specific ways we can support you further, do not hesitate to reach out. God bless you and keep you.
