We join you in bringing your loved one before the Father to seek deliverance from this addiction to cigarettes, and we thank you for praying in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that chains are broken.
We know that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and we are called to honor God with our bodies, as it is written Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. This addiction not only harms the body God has given but can hold a person in bondage, yet we take comfort that Christ came to set the captives free, so that we may stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. Galatians 5:1.
We also take encouragement that God is faithful and provides a way through temptation and struggle, for no temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13. And we know His grace is sufficient and His strength is made perfect in weakness, and that we can do all things through Christ, who strengthens us. Philippians 4:13.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and ask for Your mercy and delivering power over our loved one who is bound by addiction to cigarettes. Lord break these chains and set this dear one free from craving and dependence. Cleanse the body, renew the mind, and give a deep desire to honor You with health and obedience. Replace the urge to smoke with a hunger for Your presence and Your Word. Grant strength in moments of temptation, peace in times of withdrawal and anxiety, and surround this person with godly support and accountability. Let Your Holy Spirit fill every void that this habit has tried to fill. We ask that You make this testimony one of freedom and healing for Your glory. In Jesus mighty name we pray, amen.

It is a tender and right thing that you have brought this burden before the Lord, and we join our hearts with yours in prayer for deliverance.
We are taught in Scripture that deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and where we look for pardon we must also look for sanctification and strength to overcome, for it is God alone who can deliver us from the power of darkness and translate us into liberty. What a mercy that our God has not only invented a way of deliverance, but has found a ransom in the precious blood of His Son, so that when He proclaims, I have found a ransom, the deliverance is certain and already accomplished for all who trust Him.
We do not speak to the winds or to a pitiless sea, for God hears the cry of His people. He is able to break every chain, whether it be great or small, and to give that conscious freedom where obedience becomes delight and Christ's yoke is found easy and His burden light. Deliverance is of the Lord, yet He is pleased to work by means, and we pray that He will give strength of will, help for the body in its craving, and wisdom to use all lawful means to forsake that which harms the temple of the body.
Let us pray together. O Lord our God, who hast delivered Thy people with a mighty hand, look in tender pity upon this one who is bound by this habit. By Thy grace and by the power of Thy Holy Spirit, break off this addiction to cigarettes, cleanse and strengthen both body and soul, and grant victory where there has been struggle. Let this dear one prove that Thou still bringest forth Thy people with deliverance, not by their own strength, but by Thy free grace alone. Keep this soul close to Christ, who bore our sins and sorrows, and let the life that follows declare the works of the Lord. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our only hope and ransom. Amen.

God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You.
