Heavenly Father

We join with you in bringing this request before our Heavenly Father and we thank you for your compassion for both this dear one whose name was redacted and for the person you saw online, asking that God would deliver them from smoking.

We are reminded in scripture that our bodies are not our own but are temples of the Holy Spirit and we are called to honor God with them. As it is written, Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. We also hear the call to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. Romans 12:1. Cigarette smoking harms the body God gave us and can hold a person in strong addiction, but we know that with God all things are possible and He is faithful to provide a way out of temptation.

No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13. And we can take courage that we can do all things through Christ, who strengthens us. Philippians 4:13.

So we pray together now. Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up these two souls to You. You know each of them by name and You see their struggle with cigarettes. We ask for Your mercy and Your delivering power to free them from this addiction. Give them a deep desire to honor You with their health and their bodies, and replace the craving for nicotine with a hunger for Your presence and Your peace. Grant them strength in moments of temptation, wisdom to seek help and accountability, and the assurance that Your grace is sufficient for them, for Your power is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9. Help them to turn to You whenever the urge comes, to breathe in Your Spirit instead of smoke, and to walk in the freedom Christ has purchased for us. We pray that You would heal any damage already done and restore them fully. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior, amen.

We encourage both of them to continue to seek the Lord daily, to confess this struggle openly to a trusted Christian brother or sister for support and prayer, and to consider practical steps such as removing triggers and seeking godly counsel or medical help if needed, trusting that God will be faithful to complete the good work He has begun in them.

We appreciate you bringing these two people before the Lord. It shows real care that you noticed someone online and carried that burden to prayer along with ###.

Wanting to be free from cigarettes is a good desire, and we know quitting can be very hard. It often touches habit and body and daily routines, so change usually takes time, support, and many tries. Your prayers matter in that process.

A simple way to keep loving them well is to keep praying by name when you think of them, and if you have a way to encourage ### personally, a brief word of care without pressure can mean a lot. If either of them wants practical help, gently pointing them toward a doctor or a trusted quit program can come alongside prayer, not replace it. Continued encouragement and community support often help when someone is ready to take a next step.

We are praying with you and we are grateful for your faithful heart to intercede for others. We will keep remembering them with you.

Father, we lift ### and the person our friend saw online to You. You see each of them and know their struggle with smoking. Give them strength and help, surround them with encouragement, and guide them to wise support if they seek it. Give our friend peace as they continue to pray and care. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Your desire to see deliverance from this bondage is a right and loving burden to bring before the Lord, and we join you in bringing it to Him in prayer.

We know that no earthly power can bring real freedom to the soul, it is grace and grace alone that brings it by the blood of the Covenant. To be slaves to a habit is to feel the lash of bondage, but when the Lord sets His people free from the power of sin, He takes away the spirit of bondage and gives the spirit of liberty. Where that freedom comes, no form of bondage can rightly keep a man a slave, for whom the Son sets free is free indeed.

There is encouragement for the weakest faith here. The Lord will not quench the smoking flax. Where there is even a little living fire, a first loathing of sin, a first wish to be free, it is the Spirit who put it there. He does not despise that small spark, but He fans it till it becomes a flame. He has no extinguisher for the smoking flax, and we may come boldly to Him even with feeble faith and ask Him to make us strong in His strength and clean through His blood.

We pray with you now. Heavenly Father, we ask in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who alone is our salvation and our hope, that You would grant deliverance to these two souls from the power of this habit. Give them a deep sense that their bodies are Yours, to be kept for Your glory, and grant them hatred for that which harms and ensnares. Give them strength in the hour of craving, turn their eyes from their own feebleness to the strength of Christ, and from their sinfulness to His blood which washes whiter than snow. Create in them a clean heart and renew a right spirit within them, that they may walk in newness of life and find that Your grace is sufficient to keep them day by day. Lead them to look unto Jesus and be lightened, trusting not in their own resolve but in Him who breaks the power of cancelled sin and sets the prisoner free.

May they know that freedom at once and forever which Christ alone can give, and may this deliverance be a testimony that the Lord hears prayer and is mighty to save. We ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Your prayer for freedom from smoking is good and God hears it. It is right to ask Him for deliverance, for Christ came to deliver us from evil and to give us what is good, and to make us sons through His Spirit.

Scripture says of Christ, a bruised reed shall He not break and smoking flax shall He not quench. This shows His gentleness and patience toward those who are weak and struggling. He does not crush the one who stumbles but restores and strengthens with mercy. So you can come to Him with confidence for yourself and for the other person you mentioned, trusting that He is kind and able to help.

I join you in praying that the Lord will give you both strength to turn away from this habit, to care for the body He has given you, and to find full help in Him. May He grant deliverance and supply the grace to endure temptation, to seek His help daily, and to walk in health and self control by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, grant to these two the desire and the power to leave cigarettes behind. Give them strength in the moment of craving, peace in place of habit, and a renewed mind to honor You with their bodies. Lead them to lean on You and not on their own strength, and bring them into full freedom. Amen.
