Heavenly Father

We join you in bringing this deep longing before our Heavenly Father and we hear the ache in your heart as you ask Him to bring that person back to save the one you love. We stand with you in prayer, seeking His perfect will together in Jesus mighty name.

We know how painful it is to wait and to long for someone to return, and we are reminded that God hears every cry of our hearts. His word tells us that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18 and that this is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us 1 John 5:14. We also cling to the promise that we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28 and that we are to trust in Yahweh with all our heart, and not lean on our own understanding. In all our ways acknowledge him, and he will make our paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. His thoughts toward us are thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give us hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11.

We lift this person you are praying for before the Father and we ask for the salvation and deliverance that only He can bring. We know the Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9, and it is our desire that all would be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.

We pray together that if it is the Father's will He would bring this person back in a way that honors Him and brings healing and restoration, and if this concerns a relationship we pray it would be guided toward what is holy and godly according to His design. Above all we ask for His will to be done and for His peace to guard your heart while you wait. We ask Him to save and protect the one you have laid before Him, to draw that soul close to Jesus, to comfort you in this season of longing, and to make His path clear before you. We thank Him that He hears us when we pray in the name of Jesus our only mediator and hope, and we trust His perfect timing and love to answer according to what is best. Amen

We hear the deep love and longing in your few words. Asking God to bring someone back is such a tender and human prayer, and we are honored you shared it here. We are holding you and the person you named before the Lord with you.

Grief has a way of coming in waves, and no two people walk through it the same way. It is normal for the yearning to feel very strong at times, and also for other feelings like shock, sadness, or loneliness to surface. Please be gentle with yourself in these days and allow yourself room to grieve without rushing.

One small step that often helps is to not carry this alone. Is there one trusted person, a pastor, counselor, or close friend, you could share more of your story with this week, even for a short conversation? Simply speaking the loss out loud with someone who will listen with care can ease some of the isolation.

Father, we lift this dear one to You in Jesus name. You see the love they have for this person and the pain of separation. We ask You to draw near with Your comfort, to hold them in their sorrow, and to give them wisdom and peace for each next step. Guide them and keep them in Your care. Amen.

Your prayer has come before the Lord and He hears the cry of a burdened heart that longs for another soul to be saved. There is no prayer more precious than this, that a wanderer might return.

Know this, that our God is a God of prodigal love. When the prodigal was yet a great way off, his father saw him and ran and fell upon his neck and kissed him. Those repeated kisses meant full restoration. The son would have said, make me as one of thy hired servants, but the father with a kiss stopped him and acknowledged his sonship still. And those kisses meant also overflowing comfort, for God does more for us when we return to Him than merely to forgive, He restores and He comforts and all heaven shares in His joy. By the grace of God such a wonderful change may be experienced by every person who is willing to return to God.

And the word of the Lord to every wandering one is still, Return, return. Return now every one from his evil way. From his own evil way, that personal form of sin which most easily besets him. Whether it be licentiousness or anger or worldliness or unbelief, the call is to turn from it and to turn unto the living God. Think not that any sin is too great, for Manasseh himself, who heaped rebellion upon rebellion and passed his children through the fire, yet when he was in affliction and besought the Lord, was heard and restored. So shall it be with you and with the one for whom you pray, if you return to God.

Therefore we will not ask God to bless what He has called sin, nor to affirm any way that runs against His holy ordinance. For salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and the way of holiness is the only way of peace. Marriage is His covenant of one man and one woman for life, and all that belongs to it is to be kept within that covenant in purity. We pray not for our own will to be done in these matters, but for His will, which is good and wise and holy.

So let us pray together that God would do His perfect work. O Lord, look upon this intercessor and upon the one who is far off and has been loved and longed for. Grant repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, who alone can take away many transgressions in a single moment and justify the sinner. Draw that wandering one by Thy Spirit, convict of sin, and give a sincere desire to return to Thee. And grant to the one who prays a submissive heart to trust Thy providence, whether Thou art pleased to bring that person back into their life or to order it otherwise for Thy glory and their good. Restore, we beseech Thee, with perfect restoration, that souls may behold Thy face again and bathe in exceeding joy. Keep both in the way of holiness until the end.

Continue in prayer, and continue also in returning to the Lord yourself with full purpose of heart. He joys in the return of the prodigal. Wait upon Him, abide in His Word, and leave the keeping of this dear one in the hands of Him who can do with a look what we cannot do with a sermon.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer has been received with care and you are not alone in this ache. God sees the longing of your heart and He hears every prayer offered in the name of Jesus.

We join you in bringing this person and this situation before the Father, asking above all that His perfect will be done. Our hope is not in getting our own way, but in trusting the wisdom and love of God who knows what is best for each of us. Scripture reminds us that we are called in one hope of our calling, and that God has given us eternal comfort and good hope through grace. That hope rests in Christ alone, who is the only way of salvation, and it remains steady even when our hearts are shaken.

So we pray with you not simply that God would bring someone back, but that He would work in both lives for salvation, for holiness, and for peace. If restoration is according to His will and honors Him, we ask Him to make that clear and to build it on His design. God created marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and He calls all our relationships, including love and living together, to reflect His purity and faithfulness within that covenant. We pray that whatever relationship you are asking about would be shaped by that truth, or that God would give you grace to surrender it to Him and to walk in His way.

We also encourage you to give thanks even in pain, because a thankful heart keeps us close to God, and to love as Christ loves, with a love that seeks the true good of the other person, which is their good in God. That kind of love prays first for their soul, that they would know Jesus and follow Him.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we lift this dear one to You in the mighty name of Jesus. You know the name and the need that was left unspoken. We ask for Your mercy and Your saving grace to be at work. Draw each heart to Yourself through Jesus Christ alone. Comfort this heart that is waiting and establish it in every good work and word. Grant wisdom to seek You, to trust Your will above all desires, and to honor You in every relationship. Give peace that comes from knowing You are in control, and guide each step forward according to Your Word. In Jesus name we ask this, amen.

If you are able, share this burden with a faithful pastor or mature believer in your local church so they can walk with you, pray with you, and help you discern the Lord's leading in the days ahead.
