Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. Your desire to be changed and to become who God intends you to be is a humble and good prayer that God hears. He does not make you into a different person, but He renews the same person, making you new in the spirit of your mind so that old deeds are put away and a new life in Christ is formed. This is according to His eternal purpose which He planned from the beginning in Christ Jesus our Lord, foreknowing and preparing all that is needed to make you whole and holy.

I join you in praying for both of you, that God would do this renewing work in each of you individually. May He draw each of you to salvation through Jesus Christ alone and to a deeper trust in Him. May He renew your minds by His Spirit, reveal any old patterns that need to be left behind, and give you a true purpose to walk in obedience to Him. May He shape each of you into the person He created you to be, living with purity, self control and love for Him, and guide your steps according to His wise and good will.

Father, I ask that You would change these two lives by Your grace. Renew them in the spirit of their minds and conform them to the image of Your Son. Lead them in Your truth and help them to follow You faithfully all their days. In Jesus mighty name, amen.

Your prayer is a good and honest one, and God hears the desire to be changed and made into the people He created you to be.

That change is something God loves to do, but it rarely happens all at once. Spiritual growth is usually quiet and gradual. Like a seed planted in the ground, the life is there from the beginning, and the Word of God begins to work in you. First you see a small blade, then more development, then in time mature fruit. You may not notice it day by day, because much of the work is unconscious, but as you stay in the Word and walk with the Lord, you will look back and be amazed at how far He has brought you. Within that seed of the Word is the coded information to transform you into His likeness and to help you escape the corruption that comes through selfish desire.

God's will for you is made very clear in Scripture, and it is your sanctification. That word means to be set apart wholly for Him, like the vessels in the tabernacle that were set apart for God's use alone and not for any other purpose. Part of that setting apart is keeping your life holy in the area of sexual purity. His design is that intimacy and living together belong within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and that each person learn to honor God with his or her body and to honor one another. If you and the person you mentioned are not in that covenant, the most loving and holy step is to remain pure and to keep yourselves for the Lord and for that future commitment, rather than asking Him to bless what is outside His design.

You will find that you cannot produce this holiness by trying harder, making vows, or relying on willpower alone. The flesh is strong and we all fail when we try in our own strength. The good news is that Jesus Christ Himself has been made for us wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption. When you are in Christ, His death becomes yours, the old life is buried, and you are raised to walk in new life by the Spirit. Sanctification is not just trying to be better, it is Christ living in you and giving you power over sin as you walk after the Spirit each day.

God does not want mere religion from you, He wants a personal relationship. Like the man who met the Lord on the road to Damascus and heard His voice for himself, each of you needs that personal encounter with Jesus. That comes through personally trusting Him for salvation, for there is no other way to the Father except through Him, and through meeting Him intimately in your own daily devotion as you open the Word and let His Spirit speak to your heart and apply His love to you individually. Your own story of what Jesus has done for you then becomes a powerful witness to others.

True growth will show itself in Christlike character. It is not an abnormal growth that simply looks large outwardly but shelters things that are not of God. Real growth makes you more like Jesus, learning to love, to forgive, to bless those who have hurt you, and to do good to others. Ask the Lord to keep producing that kind of fruit in both of you.

I will pray for you both, that each of you will know Jesus personally as Savior and Lord, that you will be set apart wholly for Him, that you will walk in purity and honor before Him, and that His Word will daily transform you into His image until you can clearly see the work He has done. May He guide you according to His will and keep His hand upon your lives this week.
