Heat Warning

We join you in crying out to Jesus for relief from this extreme heat and we agree with you that He is our keeper and our shade. We bring your request before the Father in the name of Jesus, through whom alone we have access to God and by whom we are saved.

We are reminded that God is sovereign over all creation, over the sun and moon and every season, and He is our refuge in the heat. As it is written in Psalm 121:5-6, Yahweh is your keeper. Yahweh is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. And in Isaiah 25:4, For you have been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat, when the blast of the dreaded ones is like a storm against the wall.

We also hear your heart about the blood moon and the soon return of our Lord Jesus. We share that longing and that hope. Scripture does tell us there will be signs in the heavens before the great day of the Lord. Joel 2:31 says The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of Yahweh comes. And Luke 21:25 says There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars. These signs remind us to stay watchful and ready, for Jesus Himself said in Matthew 24:36, But no one knows of that day and hour, not even the angels of heaven, but my Father only. And in Matthew 24:44, Therefore also be ready, for in an hour that you do not expect, the Son of Man will come. Our hope is not in fear but in readiness, living each day in repentance, faith, and holiness as we wait for Him.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We thank You that You are Lord over the heavens and the earth and that nothing is outside Your control. Lord Jesus, we ask You to keep us cool in this extreme heat. Spread Your shade over us, over our families and neighbors, especially the elderly, the young children, and those who must work outdoors. Protect us from heat exhaustion and illness, give wisdom to stay hydrated, to find cool shelter, and to look out for one another in love. Let Your mercy be a refuge from this heat. We also thank You for the reminder in the blood moon that You are coming very soon. Keep our hearts awake and ready, help us to live faithfully, to share the gospel while there is time, and to long for Your appearing. We echo the prayer of Revelation 22:20, He who testifies these things says, Yes, I come quickly. Amen. Yes, come, Lord Jesus. Keep us faithful until You come. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to take practical care in this heat as well, to drink plenty of water, stay indoors during the hottest hours when possible, and check on loved ones and neighbors who may be vulnerable. At the same time keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, abiding in His Word, praying, and telling others of His salvation, for our comfort in both the heat of today and the signs of His coming is found in Him alone.

We hear how heavy this heat feels and we are praying with you for you and your community to be kept safe and cool. Extreme temperatures can be draining and worrying, especially when they drag on, so thank you for bringing this need to the Lord so plainly.

We join you in asking for relief from the heat and for wisdom for everyone affected. When warnings are up, it helps to stay tuned to local officials for guidance, stay in shade or cooler spaces through the hottest part of the day, keep water nearby, and look out for neighbors, children and older folks who may need extra help. If you have access to a cooling center or a church or community space that is air conditioned, please do not hesitate to use it.

We also hear your heart about the blood moon and your hope that Jesus is coming soon. We share that same hope that anchors us when circumstances feel overwhelming, that God remains present and faithful today while we wait for Him.

Jesus, we bring this heat before You and ask for Your mercy and protection over this community. Keep people cool, safe and cared for, and fill us with steady hope as we trust You day by day in Jesus' name, Amen.

Your cry in this fierce heat has been heard and we join with you in prayer to our gracious Lord for His merciful keeping.

The sun presses hard and the air itself seems heavy, yet our God who stills the storm and who makes the clouds His chariot has not forgotten His people. He knows your frame and that you are dust, and He who has promised that as your days so shall your strength be will give you shelter under the shadow of His wing. We pray that He will keep you cool and sustain you through these extreme days, that He will give wisdom for the body and peace for the soul, and that He will make even this trial work for your good.

You speak of the blood moon and of the coming of Jesus, and truly our hearts should be stirred at every sign in the heavens. Yet remember that the blood which speaks best for us is not the moon tinged red in the sky, but the precious blood of Jesus which speaks better things than that of Abel. The blood of Abel cried for vengeance, but the blood of Jesus cries for mercy and pardon. It pleads not in vain. Sinners are saved by it, and you and I may find shelter there. Come, guilty souls, and flee away like doves to Jesus wounds. Do not run from those wounds which our sins have made, but find refuge in them and rest wholly upon Him.

That blessed hope of His appearing is given to us not to make us speculate but to make us holy. He that has this hope in him purifies himself even as He is pure. If we believe He is at hand, let us return unto our God with full purpose of heart. Hear how the Lord cries, Return, return, that we may look upon you. It is the call of mercy. You must turn or burn, repent or perish, but blessed be His name, He is meek and lowly in heart and ready to forgive the past and to bear with you in the present. Stand not back because you feel low or weary. Jesus is lowly in heart and receives sinners in a divine manner.

So we pray for you now, that the Lord will keep your body in this heat and keep your soul in waiting readiness. May He wash you in the blood which alone can cleanse from all sin, bind you to Christ in whom we have redemption through His blood, and give you that good hope of eternal life through believing in Jesus Christ. Whether the day be hot or cool, may you live on Jesus, live with Jesus, live in Jesus, and never go away from Him till He shall come and quicken even these mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwells in you.

May the Lord grant you coolness and refreshment by His providence, and far more, the cool streams of His grace flowing from the pierced heart of Jesus, where there gushed forth blood and water to purge and to sanctify His people. Look for Him, watch for Him, and be found in Him when He comes. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We hear your prayer in this time of extreme heat and join you in asking the Lord for His mercy and protection. May He keep you and those with you safe from harm, grant you coolness and relief, and give you wisdom to find rest, water and shelter as you endure these hot days.

You mentioned the blood moon and the coming of Jesus. Scripture does speak of wonders in heaven above and signs on earth, of the sun turned to darkness and the moon into blood before the great and notable day of the Lord comes. Those words were given both to warn and to awaken hearts, and to remind us that judgment is real and that we should not be confident while sinning with impunity. Yet the same promise follows that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. That salvation is not through signs in the sky, but through the blood of Jesus Christ alone, the blood of the New Testament which was shed for many for the remission of sins, for without shedding of blood there is no remission.

So while we watch and wait for the Lord's return, our hope is not in speculation about dates or moons, but in readiness of heart. We are called to live soberly and faithfully each day, detached from what would bind us, ready to endure and to follow Christ, and to call upon His name in repentance and faith.

We pray now that God will grant you coolness in this heat, guard your health and the health of those around you, keep you steadfast in faith, and make you ready for that day whenever it comes, trusting fully in Christ who has purchased our forgiveness with His own blood. Amen.

We join you in prayer for relief from this extreme heat and we hear your longing for the Lord's return. God knows our natural needs for water and coolness and rest, and He is not displeased when we bring those needs to Him. Like Israel in the wilderness who needed bread and water, our physical needs are real and He is patient and compassionate toward us when we ask for His help and protection.

We also hear your heart crying out for Jesus to come soon, and Scripture encourages that same longing. We pray even so come quickly Lord Jesus, hastening the day when all creation will be restored and when every weakness and suffering will be healed. At the same time the Bible tells us that in the last days some will scoff and ask where is the promise of His coming because time has passed. The answer is that God is not slow or slack concerning His promise as some count slowness, but He is faithful and patient, and His timing is perfect.

A blood moon can remind us to look up, but our hope does not rest on signs in the sky alone. Our hope rests on the sure promise of Scripture that Jesus will return. Hard seasons like intense heat can test us, and yet God can use them to deepen our faith from mere understanding in the mind to a deeper trust in the heart that clings to Him.

We pray now for you, that the Lord will keep you safe and cool in this heat, provide water and shelter and strength, guard your health, and give you peace as you trust Him. And we pray that as we wait for His return we will grow in faith and be ready to meet Him, living each day in His grace until He comes.
