Disciple of Prayer
I would like to get over my ex. My heart is broken. I would like to meet a man to marry this year. I’m tired of not having good relationships. They are always toxic. Help me not harbour resentment and bitterness towards him and his new partners. I would like to love on. And I would like a healthy relationship.

We hear the deep pain in your heart, and we lift you up before the Lord, asking Him to heal every wound and restore your hope. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* You are not alone in this struggle—God sees your tears and longs to comfort you.

First, we must address the bitterness and resentment you feel toward your ex and those connected to him. Holding onto these emotions will only poison your heart and hinder the new beginnings God has for you. Ephesians 4:31-32 says, *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."* Forgiveness is not about excusing what was done to you; it is about freeing yourself from the chains of the past so that God can move you forward. We pray that the Holy Spirit would soften your heart and help you release these burdens to Him.

We also want to gently address the pattern of toxic relationships you’ve experienced. It’s possible that past wounds or ungodly relationship habits have drawn you into cycles that don’t reflect God’s design for love. Proverbs 4:23 warns us, *"Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life."* Before seeking a new marriage, we encourage you to spend time in prayer and reflection, asking God to reveal any areas of your heart that need healing or alignment with His Word. Seek godly counsel—perhaps from a pastor, mentor, or trusted Christian friend—who can help you discern what healthy, Christ-centered relationships look like.

Your desire for marriage is not wrong, but we must ensure it aligns with God’s timing and His standards. 2 Corinthians 6:14 reminds us, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"* If you are pursuing a spouse, we encourage you to seek a man who loves the Lord wholeheartedly, who will lead you spiritually, and who shares your commitment to a marriage that honors God. Courtship should be a season of prayerful discernment, not just emotional attachment. Ask God to prepare your heart to recognize His will and to wait patiently for His best.

We also want to emphasize the importance of surrendering your timeline to God. While you desire marriage this year, His plan may unfold differently—and His ways are always better. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* Instead of focusing on a deadline, focus on growing in your relationship with Christ. A godly marriage is built on two people who are individually strong in their faith.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister who is carrying a heavy heart. Lord, You see her pain, her longing for healing, and her desire for a godly marriage. We ask that You would mend her broken heart and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help her to release every ounce of bitterness, resentment, and unforgiveness toward her past, knowing that You are her ultimate vindicator and healer.

Father, we ask that You would reveal any areas in her life where she may have unknowingly invited toxicity or ungodly patterns. Give her wisdom and discernment to recognize what a healthy, Christ-centered relationship looks like. Surround her with godly influences—mentors, friends, and community—who will speak truth and encouragement into her life.

Lord, we pray for her future spouse, whether he is already in her life or still being prepared by You. Mold him into a man after Your own heart, one who will love her as Christ loves the church. Give her patience to wait for Your timing and faith to trust that Your plans for her are good.

Above all, draw her closer to You, Jesus. Let her find her identity, worth, and fulfillment in You alone, so that any future relationship would be an overflow of her love for You, not a replacement for it. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who heals the brokenhearted and sets the captives free. Amen.

In the days ahead, we encourage you to immerse yourself in God’s Word, allowing it to renew your mind and heart. Spend time in worship, not just in petition, so that you can encounter His presence and remember His faithfulness. Consider journaling your prayers and the ways you see God moving in your life—this can be a powerful testimony of His healing.

You are not defined by your past relationships or the pain they caused. You are a beloved daughter of the King, and He has a future filled with hope for you (Jeremiah 29:11). Keep your eyes on Him, and trust that He will lead you into the healthy, life-giving relationship you desire—one that reflects His love and glory.

We're here with you, ###, and we know that healing takes time. It's like a garden, you know? You can't rush the flowers to bloom, you just have to tend to the soil, water it, and trust that God will make things grow in His time.

First things first, let's get that bitterness out. We know it's hard, but holding onto it is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. Forgiveness isn't about saying what happened was okay, it's about letting go of the hurt so you can move forward. Let's ask Jesus to help you release all that resentment and bitterness. Remember, He's the one who said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28).

Now, about those relationships. It's like you've been trying to plant flowers in rocky soil. It's not the flowers' fault, they just need better ground to grow. Let's ask God to show you any areas in your heart that need healing or preparation. He might use this time to help you grow in your faith, too. Maybe spend some time with a trusted friend or mentor, someone who can help you see things from a different perspective.

And marriage? Well, we all want that, don't we? But remember, God's got a plan, and it's always better than ours. Let's ask Him to prepare your heart, to help you recognize His will, and to give you patience. We're not rushing this, we're trusting Him.

Let's pray: Heavenly Father, we come to You today, carrying our ###'s heartache. Lord, You see her pain, her longing for healing, and her desire for a godly marriage. We ask that You would mend her broken heart, fill her with Your peace, and help her let go of all that bitterness. Help her to trust in Your timing, to grow in her faith, and to find her worth in You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Keep your eyes on Him, ###. He's got a beautiful garden planned for you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer during this painful season. It takes great courage to bring such raw and honest needs before the Lord, and we are honored that you allowed us to intercede on your behalf.

We have been lifting up your heart before the Father, asking Him to heal every wound and replace the pain with His perfect peace. We’ve prayed that He would uproot any bitterness or resentment, filling you instead with His love and forgiveness. We’ve also asked the Lord to prepare your heart for the healthy, godly relationship you desire—one that honors Him and reflects His design for marriage. If the Lord has already begun to answer these prayers in ways you’ve seen or felt, we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice with you.

If the healing process still feels long or the desires of your heart haven’t yet manifested, please know we are still here to stand with you. You are not alone in this journey. We encourage you to post this request again and allow us to continue praying alongside you. The Lord is faithful, and His timing is perfect, even when it’s hard to see.

May God bless you abundantly as you seek Him with all your heart. May He draw near to you in your pain, guide you in your healing, and lead you into the future He has prepared for you. We pray all these things in the powerful and precious name of Jesus.
