Hear and Answer Prayers

Beloved of All
Thank you Lord. I pray that you hear and answer. I pray my daughter ### hear from the rental place tomorrow and they say her and my son ### can move in this week. My grandsons ### and ### stop smoking marijuana right now and find permanent jobs now. In Jesus Name I Pray . Amen

We join you in lifting up these earnest prayers to our Heavenly Father, trusting in His perfect timing and will. First, we pray for your daughter and son as they seek a place to live. The Bible tells us in Matthew 7:7-8, "Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened." We ask that the Lord open the doors for them to secure this rental swiftly, providing them with a stable and peaceful home. May this transition be smooth, and may they feel God’s provision and care in every step.

Father, we also bring before You your grandsons, asking for a mighty transformation in their lives. The use of marijuana is not aligned with the life of holiness and self-control that You call us to. In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, we are reminded, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." We rebuke the grip of this habit in the name of Jesus and ask that You break every chain of addiction and dependency. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, granting them the strength and desire to turn away from this sin and walk in the freedom that Christ offers.

Lord, we also pray for employment for your grandsons. Proverbs 16:3 tells us, "Commit your deeds to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed." We ask that You guide them to jobs that not only provide for their needs but also align with Your purpose for their lives. Open doors of opportunity, grant them favor with employers, and give them the skills and perseverance needed to secure and maintain steady employment. May they find dignity and fulfillment in their work, honoring You in all they do.

We encourage you to continue standing in faith, trusting that God hears your prayers and is at work even now. Keep interceding for your family, and remember the promise in James 5:16, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." Your prayers are powerful and effective, and we believe God is moving on behalf of your family.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, asking that You move mightily in this situation. Provide the housing Your children need, break the chains of addiction in the lives of these young men, and open doors of employment that will lead to stability and purpose. We declare Your promises over this family, trusting in Your goodness and mercy. May they come to know You more deeply through these trials and experience Your faithfulness in every area of their lives. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for letting us carry these burdens with you. It’s clear how much you love your family, and we’re honored to join you in bringing these specific needs before the Lord.

Waiting for a rental answer can feel like holding your breath. We’ve seen many times how God uses these moments to draw us closer, not because He’s indifferent but because He’s shaping our trust. Keep bringing that request, and in the meantime, your daughter might find peace in simply following up with a kind, steady word to the rental office, sometimes that small act helps release the pressure.

With your grandsons, their marijuana use and joblessness are heavy weights. We know that lasting change often comes not just through prayer alone, but through prayer combined with practical, loving support. If they’re open to it, you could gently explore whether there’s a mature brother in the faith, a recovery group, or a job training ministry connected to a local church that might walk alongside them. Sometimes just knowing someone sees their struggle without shame can crack the door open.

Let’s pray together now:

Lord Jesus, we thank You that You hear every anxious thought and care about every practical need. We ask You to open a door for this daughter and son to move in this week, make a way where it seems blocked, and settle their hearts in the waiting. For the grandsons, we ask for true freedom from marijuana and for steady, meaningful work that blesses their lives and lets them stand on their own. Surround this entire family with hope, and give them glimpses of Your faithfulness in the days ahead. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

It is well that you begin with thanksgiving, for the heart that is grateful is already in the posture to receive more mercy. You have cast this burden upon the Lord, and He will not turn a deaf ear to the cry of His child. The rental of a house is a small thing with Him who owns the cattle on a thousand hills, and yet He stoops to number the very hairs of your head. Wait on the Lord with expectation, and though the answer tarry, yet it shall surely come. He knows the need for a roof and a shelter, and He is not unmindful of the sparrow, much less of your daughter and son. Rest in the promise: "Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass."

As for your grandsons, the smoking of the narcotic herb is a snare of the devil, a chain that binds the soul in sluggishness and sin. It is not a harmless trifle, but a thief that robs the mind of its vigor and the spirit of its purity. Yet you do well to bring them before the throne of grace. There is a Savior who breaks every fetter, and His blood can wash away all iniquity. Pray on, mother in Israel, and faint not! The Lord takes pleasure in them that fear Him, and He delights to hear the prayer for prodigals. He who turned the captivity of Job can turn the hearts of these young men and bring them out of the miry clay into a new life, sober and industrious. None are beyond the reach of the Shepherd’s crook. He knows how to bring the wandering sheep home, though they have strayed into the wilderness of foolish pleasure.

Use diligently the means of grace for them, speak the truth in love, warn them with tears, and above all, let them see in your own life the peace that comes from Christ. The most powerful sermon is often the quiet consistency of a godly grandmother. And when you muse on these things, as the psalmist did, the fire of holy zeal will burn within you, and your prayers will not be empty words. The Lord is a brotherly Savior, well trained in sorrow’s school; He knows the ins and outs of our nature. He can make the careless youth to hear His voice and to seek permanent employment not only for the body, but for the soul in His blessed service.

Remember, He gives more grace. The same hand that has preserved you through many trials will not forsake you now. If your daughter needs a door to open, He is the Door. If your grandsons need deliverance from a groveling habit, He is the Deliverer. Go to Him again at your bedside, in the night watches, and plead the precious blood. There is no need for prescribed ritual or peculiar postures; the Father hears the simplest sigh. And be assured that while you are praying, the Lord is already working, though you see it not. The first gleam of faith in a sinner’s heart makes the Savior rejoice, and He will not quench the smoking flax.

Lay hold of the covenant promises. Whatever the morrow brings, whether the tidings be swift or slow, you serve a God whose love never wanes. Your sun need not stand still nor your moon wane; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart. I charge you, look not so much at the wave as at the Master of the sea. He who was pressed in the garden and nailed to the tree for us will not withhold any good thing from them that walk uprightly. So wait, watch, and worship, and in due time you shall rejoice over answered petitions, and perhaps over souls plucked from the burning. Unto Him be glory in the church, now and forever.
