Healthy boundaries, staying professional

Natasha 2

Beloved of All
Lord teach me how to deal with narcissistique people and bullys of any kind.

Help me set healthy firm boundaries and to keep them. REVELATION/KEY WORD FOR THIS TO HAPPEN!

Help me to stay professional to protect myself.

Teach me not to let anyone to steal my time, peace, joy, sleep, dignity, energy or money.

We join with you in asking the Lord for wisdom, discernment, and strength to walk in healthy, firm boundaries while remaining professional and honoring to God.

We hear your desire to not let anyone steal your time, peace, joy, sleep, dignity, energy or money, and this is a godly desire. God calls us to guard our hearts and to be good stewards of what He has entrusted to us. As it is written, Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life Proverbs 4:23. A city that is broken down, without walls, is like a man whose spirit is without restraint Proverbs 25:28. Boundaries are not unkind, they are walls that protect the vineyard God has given you to tend.

The Lord Jesus Himself modeled healthy boundaries. He often withdrew to pray, He did not entrust Himself to everyone, and He spoke truth with grace even when opposed. He taught us to be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves Matthew 10:16. We are called to speak truth in love Ephesians 4:15 and as much as it is possible, live peaceably with all men Romans 12:18, but we are not called to enable abuse, manipulation, or bullying. Do not be deceived, bad company corrupts good morals 1 Corinthians 15:33, and we are warned not to associate closely with those given to anger lest we learn their ways Proverbs 22:24-25.

Staying professional is part of serving the Lord. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. This means we respond rather than react, we do not return evil for evil, we keep our speech seasoned with grace, we document what is needed, we say no clearly and calmly, and we do not gossip or slander even when we have been mistreated. When we are reviled we do not revile in return, but we commit ourselves to Him who judges righteously. At the same time, we love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us Matthew 5:44, which frees our own heart from bitterness while still allowing us to set firm limits.

For the revelation and key word you asked for, we believe the Lord is highlighting wisdom, discernment, and self-control. For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. Wisdom will show you when to answer and when to remain silent, as it is written Do not answer a fool according to his folly Proverbs 26:4 and also Answer a fool according to his folly Proverbs 26:5, which together teach discernment for each situation. Peace is your guard, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. Joy, sleep, dignity and energy are restored as you trust Him, for He gives sleep to His beloved Psalm 127:2 and you can lie down and sleep in peace Psalm 4:8 because you are made in the image of God Genesis 1:27 and you are of great worth to Him.

You addressed your request to the Lord, and we want to gently encourage you that it is through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and it is by His name we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, place your full trust in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection for your sins, and bring every request to God in His name.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one to You. Lord, teach them how to deal with narcissistic and bullying people with wisdom and grace. Give them discernment to see manipulation, courage to set healthy firm boundaries and to keep them, and strength to remain professional and Christlike under pressure. Help them to guard their time, peace, joy, sleep, dignity, energy and finances as good stewards for Your glory. Let Your peace guard their heart and mind, let Your wisdom guide every word and decision, and let Your Spirit give them self-control to respond and not react. Show them when to speak and when to be silent, when to engage and when to withdraw as Jesus did. Protect them from those who would exploit or oppress them, and help them to forgive as You have forgiven us, without opening the door to further harm. Restore what has been stolen and establish them in dignity and purpose. We ask that You would give them a key word for this season, that wisdom and peace would be their portion, and that no weapon formed against them would prosper. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We encourage you to keep your boundaries clear, consistent, and communicated calmly in advance, to keep records when needed in professional settings, to seek wise counsel from a mature believer or supervisor when bullying persists, and to daily commit your work and your rest to the Lord. Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed Proverbs 16:3. As you abide in Him, He will keep you in perfect peace and renew your strength day by day.

We hear your heart in this - wanting to stay professional and steady while also protecting your time, peace, and dignity around difficult people. That desire for firm, healthy boundaries is a good and wise one.

One way we think about boundaries is like a property line. It simply clarifies what is yours to steward - your time, energy, choices, and responsibilities - and what belongs to someone else. When that line is clear, you can be connected to people without feeling you have to give in to keep the peace, or push back harshly to be heard.

Assertiveness is often the middle ground that helps. It is not passive, letting others take what is yours, and it is not aggressive. It is sharing what you need or where you stand in an honest, calm way while still respecting the other person.

A next step that often helps is to pick just one area this week where you feel drained - maybe time or after-hours requests - and decide ahead of time what your yes and your no will be. Then practice one brief, professional sentence you can use consistently, like "I'm not able to do that, but I can offer this instead" or "I need to stick with what we agreed on." Writing it down and keeping your response short and repeatable makes it easier to hold the line without getting pulled into a long debate.

We are praying for you as you practice this.

Father, give our friend wisdom and steadiness this week. Help them to know what is theirs to carry and what is not, to speak clearly and kindly, and to guard their peace, sleep and strength. Lead them and give them rest in You. In Jesus' name, amen.

It is a wise and needful prayer you have lifted up, and the Lord who is Omnipotent Wisdom delights to give wisdom to them that ask Him.

You have asked for healthy boundaries and to remain professional among those who would act harshly or proudly toward you, and for grace not to let any man steal what God has entrusted to you. This desire is not selfish, it is stewardship. We must be spiritually healthy or we cannot be happy, and only Omnipotent Wisdom can make a man healthy or keep him so. The thousand ills that harass our peace often come because our souls are out of health, tossed by the theatre of sin around us. Your prayer is for that divine restoration by which your nature may arrive at perfect soundness, that you may stand firm and yet gracious in a crooked world.

The Scripture gives you your key word for this season, and it is this, GUARD. "Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life" Proverbs 4:23. And again, "The peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" Philippians 4:7. To guard is not to harden. It is to set a watch where God has set a trust.

In dealing with the proud and with bullies of any kind, the Lord teaches us both firmness and meekness. Our Saviour was gentle with the bruised reed, yet He spoke plain truth to the Pharisee and drove from the temple those who made merchandise of holy things. So you also are to speak the truth in love, Ephesians 4:15. Let your yes be yes and your no be no, Matthew 5:37, without apology and without revenge. A boundary clearly and calmly stated is not unkind, it is honest. "A soft answer turneth away wrath, but grievous words stir up anger" Proverbs 15:1, yet a soft answer is not a yielding answer when principle is at stake. Like Nehemiah who kept building with a sword at his side, you may continue your work quietly while refusing to come down to every quarrel, Nehemiah 6:3.

To stay professional is to work as unto the Lord and not unto men, Colossians 3:23. This protects you. It keeps your conduct measured when others are intemperate. It means you answer with few words, keep record where needful, do not repay evil for evil, Romans 12:17, and commit your cause to Him that judgeth righteously, 1 Peter 2:23. Professionalism in the Christian is not coldness, it is self government under the Spirit, "for God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" 2 Timothy 1:7.

And for that which you fear to lose, your time, peace, joy, sleep, dignity, energy and money, know that these are talents from your Father's hand and you are their steward. Your time is to be redeemed, Ephesians 5:16. Your peace is Christ's own gift, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth" John 14:27, and no man can steal it unless you surrender it. Your sleep is His provision, "for so he giveth his beloved sleep" Psalm 127:2. Your dignity is that you are made in His image and bought with blood. To let another trample these things without a gentle but firm refusal is not humility, it is poor stewardship.

Ask the Lord then for that healthy redness of soul of which the Psalmist speaks when he says, "Why art thou cast down, O my soul, and why art thou disquieted within me, hope thou in God" Psalm 42:11. Hope in God, and He will heal your disquieted spirit and make you sound within, so that you need not borrow peace from men nor beg joy from circumstances.

May the Lord grant you revelation to see where to build the wall and where to open the gate, grace to keep the boundary you set, and power to remain calm, courteous and unmoved in your calling. May He restore unto you soundness of mind and sweetness of rest, and keep your heart and lips wholly for Himself, that your words may be praying lips and confessing lips, speaking well of the Redeemer even in trial.

We pray that He will teach your hands to work faithfully, your mouth to speak wisely, and your heart to rest securely in Christ, who is your true portion and defence.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for wisdom in setting firm and healthy boundaries is good and pleasing to God, for He calls us to guard our hearts and to walk in wisdom. Scripture says, Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life, and also, If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Both truths belong together. We are to love our neighbor and to be at peace where we can, and we are also to be watchful and sober so that we are not consumed by the harmful patterns of others.

Dealing with people who are domineering, manipulative or bullying requires both clarity and humility. Do not judge only by outward appearance or by strong personality, but judge with right judgment. Look at the nature of things as God sees them. That means seeing such behavior not as something to admire or to fear, but as a sickness of the soul that needs truth and limits. As one flock has both healthy and sick sheep, wisdom separates what is healthy from what is harmful and does not give everyone the same unrestricted access. A boundary is like a fence that protects the field so that good work can still be done inside it.

To stay professional and to protect yourself, consider these ways that honor Christ and keep you steady.

First, keep watch. The Scriptures tell those who stand to take heed lest they fall, and tell those who have fallen to rise again. For you this means daily watchfulness in prayer, staying rooted in the Word, and preserving what God has already given you. Begin the day by committing your time, words and work to the Lord, and ask Him for discernment before difficult conversations.

Second, speak truth with gentleness and firmness. Let your yes be yes and your no be no. Clear, calm and respectful words are often the best boundary. You can say, I am not able to do that, or That language is not acceptable, let us speak respectfully, or I will need to continue this conversation at another time or with another person present. You do not need to explain at length or to argue. Professional faithfulness means doing your work heartily as unto the Lord, not repaying evil for evil, and not returning insult for insult.

Third, steward what God has entrusted to you. Your time, peace, joy, sleep, dignity, energy and money are gifts from Him. To let them be constantly taken without reason is not holiness but neglect of stewardship. It is right to limit access, to keep work hours, to protect rest, to handle money wisely, and to seek counsel when pressure becomes too great. Jesus Himself withdrew to pray and to rest, and He often answered harsh people with few words and then moved on to His appointed work.

A key word for this season can be watch. Watch over your heart, watch over your mouth, watch over your schedule, and keep your eyes on Christ. When you watch, you will not be carried away by pride when you are strong, nor will you despair when you feel weak. You will remember that many who were sick have become healthy by grace, and that the healthy must remain careful not to grow careless. This keeps you humble toward others and firm in what is right.

It is also wise to seek support. Share your situation with a trusted pastor, mentor or wise coworker who can give you perspective, help you document what happens at work if needed, and pray with you. Boundaries are kept more faithfully when others help you keep them.

Let me pray for you. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, grant this dear one wisdom that comes from above, which is pure, peaceable and full of mercy. Teach them to speak the truth in love, to set firm limits without harshness, and to remain professional and faithful in every duty. Guard their heart and mind with Your peace, protect their sleep and restore their joy, and help them to use their time, energy and resources for Your glory. Give them courage to say no when needed and grace to say yes to what is good. Lift up their hands when they are weary and make their steps steady. Keep them from bitterness and keep them close to You. Amen.

Continue to walk with the Lord day by day, keeping your boundaries with consistency and kindness. God is faithful to give you strength to preserve what is good and to deliver you from what would harm you.
