Thank you for sharing the burden you carry for your mother and father. Your love and concern for them honors God, for Scripture calls us to honor our father and mother, and bringing them before the Lord in prayer is one of the most loving ways to do that.

I want you to know we are praying with you for both of them, for your mother in her diabetes and the fungal infection in her lungs, and for your father for his eyesight, headaches, urinary tract issues, swelling in his feet, blood pressure and his overall health.

The Bible shows us that God does heal, and He heals in many different ways. Sometimes the healing is immediate, sometimes it is gradual. There is one account in the Gospels where Jesus healed a blind man gradually, which reminds us that God is not limited to one pattern. Sometimes He healed with a touch, sometimes with only a word, sometimes from a distance. In the same way today, all true healing is from Him. He has built healing processes into our bodies, and the skill of doctors and the help of medicine are part of the natural means He created. Whether the recovery is sudden or comes slowly over time, it is still divine because He is the one who made us and sustains us. He also brings healing to the mind and heart, bringing peace and strength even while the body is still struggling.

There is much about healing we do not fully understand. We do not always know why some are healed quickly and others are not. Scripture is clear that sickness is not always a direct result of personal sin. When Jesus was asked about a man born blind, whether his condition was because of his own sin or his parents sin, He answered neither, but that it was allowed so the works of God might be displayed. Calamity is not always judgment. God in His sovereignty allows what He allows for His own purposes, and our part is to trust Him and keep asking.

The Holy Spirit gives gifts of healing as He wills, and we are encouraged to earnestly desire God's work and to pray with faith, while also resting in His wisdom and love. A lack of immediate healing does not mean a lack of love from God. He is compassionate and He hears every prayer.

So continue to bring your parents to Him daily, and continue to help them receive good medical care, trusting that God works through those means as well. Keep trusting His goodness even as you wait.

Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up this mother and father to You. You know every detail of their bodies. We ask for Your healing touch upon this mother, for help with her diabetes and for cleansing and healing in her lungs. Lay Your hand upon this father, restore his eyesight, relieve his headaches, heal his urinary tract, remove the swelling in his feet and bring his blood pressure into healthy balance. Strengthen them both and grant them good health according to Your will. Give this family peace, faith and patience as they wait on You, and let Your works be made manifest in their lives. Comfort them with Your presence and let them know Your love through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
